Abstract: An applicator for a liquid grout sealer including an elongated tubular body defining a sealer reservoir, a sealer valve at an end of the tubular body including a spring normally biasing the sealer valve into a closed position and pressure activated by axial pressure on the tubular body into an open position against the bias of the spring, and an applicator wheel carried by the sealer valve for receiving sealer from the reservoir through the sealer valve in the open position and for distributing sealer.
Abstract: A toothpaste dispensing toothbrush including a handle defining a reservoir, and a neck extending from the handle and terminating in a brush head. The reservoir has an outlet, and contains a plurality of portions of toothpaste. The brush head has a plurality of bristles with an effective lifetime. A passage extends from the outlet of the reservoir through the neck to a dispensing opening located proximate the brush head. Also included is a dispensing mechanism for dispensing the plurality of portion of the toothpaste from the reservoir to the brush head. The plurality of portions of toothpaste matches the lifetime of the bristles.
Abstract: Apparatus comprising a plumbing fixture including a channeled body having an open branch way leading to a stem way and a ferrule located in the open branch way and constructed of a first material, and an implement comprising an extension fixed to a handled body and positioned within the open branch way and through the ferrule for bracing the plumbing fixture in response to a force exerted against the handled body, wherein the extension is constructed of a second material that is softer than the first material of the ferrule for preventing the ferrule from becoming damaged in response to contact with the extension.
Abstract: In an annular groove carried by one of a pair of reciprocally movable members, a pin extending into the annular groove and a sidewall of the other one of the pair of reciprocally movable members, a seal assembly comprising a ring carried by an annular body mounted in the annular groove for sealing the reciprocally movable members for minimizing fluid leakage between the members, wherein the pin extends into and through a notch carried by the annular body and an end gap of the ring for retarding rotation of and between the annular body and the ring.
Abstract: An impeller comprising a plurality of fan blades attached to a housing mounted for rotation and an electric motor contained in a chamber bound by the housing for rotating the housing, and a vent architecture of the housing comprising discrete groups of vents positioned along a substantially common plane, the first and second groups each for one of a) drawing air into the chamber and b) forcing air out of the chamber in response to rotation of the housing.
Abstract: A guitar including a neck including a head and an opposing end attached to a sound box and strings extending between the head and a bridge carried by the sound box, the sound box having a sound hole leading to a sound chamber that is defined by an inner surface including opposing generally concave faces that meet at a substantially continuous and parabolic face.
Abstract: A self-tightening mechanism mounted on a seat having a back portion. The self-tightening mechanism including a drum coupled to the back portion, a band wrapped about the drum inhibiting rotation thereof and having a first end and a second end. A tightening mechanism coupled to the first end and the second end such that a force applied to the back portion in either of two opposing directions produces a tension in the band adjacent either one of the first end and the second end and a corresponding loosening of the band adjacent the other end. The tightening mechanism including a lever pivotable about a fixed pivot point to convert a portion of the tension to reduce the loosening.

Abstract: Apparatus for preventing fluid transfer through an opening between an oviduct and a uterine cavity including an insert for insertion into the oviduct through the opening, the insert having a first portion for causing fibroblast ingrowth and a second portion including a biodegradable anchor for securing the insert to the oviduct.
Abstract: A pipe joint including a first pipe segment having a belled end and an annular gasket carried within the belled end, a second pipe segment having an end inserted into the belled end, passing through the annular gasket, and a beveled insert carried by the end of the second pipe segment for facilitating the insertion of the end of the second pipe segment into the belled end of the first pipe segment passing through the annular gasket.
Abstract: A box lintel includes an elongated, hollow metal form with a lower wall, integrally formed side walls extending upwardly therefrom, and integrally formed partial upper walls extending inwardly from the side walls. A method of fabricating a box lintel is also disclosed which includes the steps of providing an elongated flat sheet of metal and bending the flat sheet of metal into a hollow metal form with a lower wall, integrally formed side walls extending upwardly therefrom, and integrally formed partial upper walls extending inwardly from the side walls. The form is adapted to be positioned on upright masonry supports so as to span an opening and to be filled with grout/mortar and to receive one or more courses of masonry bricks on the upper walls.
Abstract: An apparatus which includes a growing container in which plants are hydroponically grown on a support medium is disclosed. The growing container includes a plurality of openings in which seals are installed. The seals include holes through which the plants grow. When seeds are planted, a hollow tube is placed through the seal hole to maintain the seed in position. After the seed germinates, it grows through the tube. As continued growth expands the plant's stem to the size of the tube, the tube breaks apart and does not constrain future plant growth. Moreover, as the plant grows further, the seal hole expands to accommodate the plant stem. The seal surrounds and contacts the plant stem to reduce evaporation of nutrient solution from the growing container and to keep insects and contamination out of the growing container. A holding container is positioned above the growing container and coupled to the growing container through a manifold arrangement.
Abstract: A pool structure having a fluid discharge apparatus for conducting water supplied from a pump in a decorative fashion proximate the perimeter of the pool structure.
Abstract: Adjustable support apparatus comprising a support structure including a first seating element and a pivotally attached second seating element each for receiving a selected portion of a body of a user thereon, a rack and pinion adjustment assembly fixed to the support structure for reciprocally adjusting the support structure and a belt and drum adjustment assembly fixed to the support structure for pivotally adjusting the second seating element.
Abstract: An artificial joint for implantation into a subject's body is provided which includes an outer race coupled with fixation means to anchor the outer race within an existing joint socket. An inner race member seats within the outer race and a first bearing member is juxtaposed therebetween. The first bearing member has its normal axis closely coincident with a center of rotation that is normal to an axis of most frequent movement of the joint. The bearing component is installed in an alignment that supports loads on a primary axis. A second bearing member may be provided between the inner and outer race members which constrains forces generated during use of the joint and centers forces onto the first bearing member.
Abstract: A cohesive coating composition (16) having differential adhesion properties is applied to window glass (12) without regard to covering adjacent trim material (14) which is to be subsequently painted. The DAC (differential adhesion composition) coating (16) is characterized by high adhesion to wood, metal, plastics and painted surfaces and at the same time by selective adhesion to glass-like surfaces, so that the coating composition (16) may be easily scraped, peeled, or otherwise lifted from the glass (12), together with any paint overlay thereon, after the painting operation of the window frame (14) is completed. When subjected to sheer forces of pulling and scraping, the cohesive properties of DAC coating (16) when considered in combination with a relatively low adhesion to glass, allows the coating (16) to be removed in long continuous strips rather than fracturing into small pieces.
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting and protecting newly cropped ears of an animal including first and second ear support apparatus each engagable with one of the newly cropped ears and a bridge interconnecting the first ear support apparatus with the second ear support apparatus, wherein the bridge is adjustable for adjusting the distance between the first and second ear support apparatus.
Abstract: An adjustable seat including a seat frame and a rack mounted to a substrate. First and second pinions are rotatably carried by the frame and meshingly engage the rack for relative movement of the rack. The second pinion is movable between an open position allowing rotation of the pinions, and an engaged position wherein the pinions are mutually engaged with each other and the rack, preventing relative movement of the rack and rotation of the pinions. A cam engages the second pinion for moving it between the open position and the engaged position.
