  • Patent number: 4542753
Abstract: A stimulator for penile erection comprises a body member which may be inserted into the rectum of a user, the body member being so shaped as to closely conform to the topological configuration of the rectum from the anal area to a site adjacent to the prostate gland. Within the body member is electrical circuitry for generating a neurally stimulating electrical signal. Electrodes, placed at particular locations on the surface of the body member, apply the signal to the user. At least one of the electrodes closely contacts the prostate gland when the body member is operatively disposed, at a region or spot on the prostate gland previously determined to be sensitive to electrical stimulation.

  • Patent number: 4406476
Abstract: Vehicle lifting and towing apparatus utilizes a pair of frames, each pivotably mounted to a vehicle, and having their distal ends interconnected by cable means. In one embodiment, rotation of one frame causes rotation of the other. In that embodiment, a winch remote from the frames is coupled to one of the frames, so that winching of the winch cable causes both frames to rotate about their respective axes. Means are provided in association with the other of the frames to secure that frame to a vehicle to be towed. In another embodiment, one frame is fixed in a generally vertical orientation, and a winch is mounted on that frame. The second frame is caused to rotate by operation of the winch.

  • Patent number: 4402601
Abstract: A bidirectional laser Doppler velocimeter provides absolute measurement of the speed of red blood cells flowing in individual retinal vessels. A standard retinal camera is used, and the need for a contact lens for the subject eye is eliminated. The laser beam is delivered to the eye through the fundus illumination optical system of the camera. Target fixation is done with the eye under examination. The measurements are independent from the ocular refraction; only the axial length of the eye need be determined. The instrument markedly simplifies the technique of retinal blood flow measurement.

  • Patent number: 4375735
Abstract: An air lock has a chamber and a pair of doors in respective walls of the chamber. Operators associated with the doors include closers normally biasing the doors to closed positions and fluid powered openers associated with the closers capable of overriding the bias of the closers. A control system, operation of which may be initiated by initial opening displacement of one of the doors or (in one embodiment of the invention) by manually operable remote switch means, provides for opening of one of the doors and latching of the other to prevent simultaneous opening of both doors. The latch means for the doors may be overriden by direct displacement of the doors for safety purposes. The control system also triggers air handling apparatus associated with the chamber.
