Abstract: A pouch type lithium secondary battery includes an electrode assembly includes a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, wherein disposed facing against each other, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, and a case includes a lower plate wherein a second chamber containing the electrode assembly, and an upper plate seals the second chamber, wherein the upper plate includes a sealing trace formed at the area corresponded to the area where the second chamber sealed.

Abstract: An Organic Electro Luminescence Display (OELD) to perform a sheet unit test includes a pixel unit including: a plurality of pixels to receive a first power supply voltage (ELVDD), a second power supply voltage (ELVSS) and scanning signals to emit light; a scan driving unit to supply the scanning signals to the pixel unit; and a test unit to test whether or not a defect in the pixel unit is present, and further includes a first wire group arranged in a first direction and having a floated end; and a second wire group arranged in a second direction and having a floated end. This allows the sheet unit test to be conducted without scribing each OELD, by supplying the power supply voltages and the signals for their tests into a plurality of the OELDs formed on a motherboard.

Abstract: A computer system having an operating system which complies with the advanced configuration and power interface (ACPI) specification comprises a temperature sensor for sensing an inner temperature of the computer system and for generating an alarm signal when the sensed temperature exceeds a predetermined value, a bridge controller for generating a system management interrupt (SMI) in response to the alarm signal, a basic input-output system (BIOS) read-only memory (ROM) for storing a power management routine, and a power management processor for receiving a power control command signal generated by the power management routine in response to the SMI, and for generating a system command interrupt (SCI). The operating system causes the computer system to enter a “sleep” state in response to the SCI. The computer system enters the “sleep” state when the inner temperature exceeds the predetermined value, and restores data normally when the computer system resumes operation.

Abstract: A multiple-user computer system provides a respective remote control device to each one of a plurality of multiple users. Each remote control device has a plurality of button switches and a memory for storing a password datum, and transmits a remote-control wireless signal including a password datum to a wireless receiving panel of a computer in response to an input of a button switch. The wireless receiving panel has a memory for storing passwords provided to each of the multiple users. The panel receives a wireless signal from a remote controller, and compares a password of the remote controller included in the wireless signal with passwords of the multiple users stored in the memory. If passwords match, the system is controlled in response to the remote control signal. Using the remote control, a user can utilize a computer system, convert it to a sleep mode, wake it up from a sleep mode, and execute designated application programs.

Abstract: A tension mask for a color cathode-ray tube, a method for manufacturing the tension mask, and an exposure mask for use in the manufacture of the tension mask are provided. The tension mask is manufactured by depositing photosensitive layers over the top and bottom surfaces of a steel foil. An upper exposure mask with a pattern including a series of parallel upper light transmission portions arranged in lines is aligned over the top surface of the steel foil, and a lower exposure mask with a pattern is aligned over the bottom surface of the steel foil. Here, the pattern of the lower exposure mask includes a series of parallel lower light transmission portions arranged in lines, a plurality of first light shielding portions intersecting adjacent lower light transmission portions among the series of the parallel lower light transmission portions, and a plurality of second light shielding portions partially extending between the edges of the adjacent lower light transmission portions.

Abstract: In a head drum assembly mounting structure on a deck of a tape recorder, a plurality of connecting holes and positioning holes are formed in a drum boss provided at a lower portion of a fixing drum, and a plurality of coupling holes and positioning pins are formed in a drum base which is slant disposed on a main base. By using the positioning holes and the positioning pins as positioning means which are connected to each other in complementary fashion, the coupling holes of the drum base and the connecting holes of the drum boss are aligned with each other, and by fastening a screw into such aligned coupling holes and the connecting holes, the head drum assembly can be directly coupled to the main base while being slant disposed with respect to the main base. Accordingly, any possible damage to a lead line is prevented, and assembly efficiency is improved, while the number of parts and the manufacturing cost are reduced.

Abstract: A microwave oven comprises a main casing with a cooking chamber, a door for opening and closing the cooking chamber, and a magnetron in the main casing, for heating food within the cooking chamber. The microwave oven further comprises a power supply part; a plurality of contact parts provided to the main casing to be spaced from each other, being electrically connected to the power supply part; and a conductive part provided at the door, being electrically connected to the contact parts. With this configuration, the necessary components are decreased in number and the circuit is simplified in structure, thereby saving the cost of production and further improving the stability of the circuit.

Abstract: An image adjusting circuit of a display monitor includes a microcomputer for storing an image adjusting data, converting it to a d-c level, and generating a PWM pulse; and an integrating circuit, receptive to the PWM pulse according to the image adjusting data generated from the microcomputer, for integrating the PWM pulse according to the period of a vertical retrace pulse, and applying an image adjusting pulse to a horizontal size regulating terminal, thereby compensates for the pin/barrel-shaped and trapezoid distortions on the display monitor by integrating the PWM pulse generated from the microcomputer to generate a waveform through one integrating circuit, and by adjusting the image by regulating the PWM pulse.

Abstract: A data sector reassigning technique in a hard disk drive detects of a soft defect in a hard disk drive having a plurality of data sectors and an error correction capability. An error rate is calculated during a data read, and a soft defect is detected by varying the error correction capability according to the calculated error rate. A read error of the detected soft defect is recovered by setting the error correction capability to a maximum level if the read error is not recovered, and a spare sector is reassigned to substitute for a corresponding sector.

Abstract: An interprocessor communication device, in which a plurality of processors are interconnected to processor buses for an address signal, a data signal, and a control signal, receiving/outputting handshake signals for transmitting/receiving a message to/from an adjacent processor. A plurality of memory blocks are connected to memory buses for an address signal, a data signal, and a control signal and stores/outputs data upon input of an address signal and a control signal. A rotation bus interface module, connected between the processor buses and the memory buses, switches the memory buses connected to the processor buses in response to handshake signals received from two adjacent processors to allow the processors exclusively to access the memory blocks and thereby convey interprocessor data between the two adjacent processors.

Abstract: An ink-jet spraying device includes an ink chamber for holding ink corresponding to an opening in a nozzle plate; an ultrasonic vibration plate which vibrates in order to separate pigment particles in the ink; a mesh grid for electrically charging the separated pigment particles, with a voltage applied; and an electric field formation circuit for spraying the electrically charged pigment particles through the nozzle openings in accordance with a print command. The separated pigment particles acquire an electric polarity while passing through the mesh grid, since the voltage applied to the mesh grid is greater or equal to that of the formed electric field. The electric field formation circuit includes: a common electrode installed under the ink chamber; and individual electrodes disposed above the ink chamber.

Abstract: A document paper size detection method and apparatus, in a facsimile device, having a plurality of sensor cells forming a charge-coupled device (CCD) sensor module which is repositioned according to a determination by a CPU as to whether the facsimile is to be operated in a book scanning mode or a sheet feeding mode. In the book scanning mode the CCD sensor module is move to a scan starting position and the scanning operation is performed. In the sheet feeding mode the CCD sensor module is moved to a location for detecting an optical sensor reflecting unit, and based upon an optical alignment of one of the plurality of sensor cells with the optical sensor reflecting unit, a size of the sheet of paper to be scanned in the sheet feeding mode is calculated. The CCD sensor module is then moved to a scanning location for scanning the sheet of paper and the sheet of paper is automatically fed past this scanning location.

Abstract: An automatic dialing method of a mobile telephone system linked to a mobile telephone network including a first memory and a second memory storing pre-registered telephone numbers of selected subscribers and abbreviated numbers corresponding to the telephone numbers. The automatic dialing method requires determining whether one of a telephone number of a called subscriber and an abbreviated number corresponding to the telephone number is entered by an operator; sequentially storing the telephone number of the called subscriber in the first memory as each digit of the telephone number is being entered by the operator; determining whether a predetermined time period has expired after all digits of the telephone number have been entered by the operator and sequentially stored in the first memory; and automatically dialing the telephone number of the called subscriber for establishing a connection to the mobile telephone network upon expiration of the predetermined time period.

Abstract: An apparatus for testing the operation of a digital signal processor in an optical disk player includes a microcomputer for generating a control signal representative of a data transmission speed of the optical disk player. The microcomputer also evaluates the operation of the digital signal processor based on a digital signal received from the digital signal processor. A pattern generating unit receives the control signal, generates a radio frequency signal corresponding to the data transmission speed in response to the control signal, and provides the radio frequency signal to the digital signal processor. The digital signal processor generates the digital signal in response to the radio frequency signal. A display provides display of the result of the evaluation performed by the microcomputer.

Abstract: A disk calibration and search method in a disk drive is provided, in which, after an initialization step, a pickup is jumped to a first position and moved radially in a predetermined direction in response to pulses generated by a frequency generator. During this radial movement the number of tracks crossed are is counted. The counting is continued until a predetermined number of the pulses generated by the frequency generator have been generated. A calculated frequency generator track number is then obtained by dividing the counted number of tracks by the predetermined number of pulses generated by the frequency generator, i.e., calculating a unit track number of the disk per a single movement of the pickup, that is, the number of tracks the pickup moves per pulse generated by the frequency generator. The calculated frequency generator track number is stored in memory used to control the frequency generator for jumping the pickup during a search for a target track.
