  • Patent number: 4721870
Abstract: An apparatus for filtering radio frequency interference from digital signals. The filter uses a resistor, an inductor and a capacitor to provide a filter with a broad bandwidth capable of passing high frequency digital signals, while severely attenuating radio frequencies coupled to the digital signals. The filter is used primarily in conjunction with an electronic control to filter input signals to the control from remote sensors.

  • Patent number: 4712376
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the fluid flow delivered to work elements of a work vehicle. In the operation of hydraulic work vehicles, when quick or multiple implement movement is required, the fluid pumps often are requested to surpass their capability in providing fluid flow to the work elements. A flow-limiting situation then occurs wherein some of the work elements are not receiving the requested flow and therefore cannot perform their requested functions. To solve this problem, the total available flow and the total requested flow from the pumps are monitored. If the total requested flow is not great enough to cause a flow-limiting situation, the operators demands are communicated to control valves which control fluid flow to the respective work elements. However, if the total requested flow is greater than the total available flow, the operators demand signals are "scaled down" in order to prevent a flow-limiting situation.

  • Patent number: 4004641
Abstract: The motor grader drawbar assembly has a blade mounted on a circle gear and a drive gear selectively rotates the circle gear and the blade via a pinion gear engaged with the circle gear and mounted on a rotatable shaft. A slip clutch is interposed between the drive gear and the shaft to allow relative movement therebetween when a preselected torque is exceeded, as when the blade hits an obstruction. A pressure plate overlies the slip clutch and may be adjusted to change the preselected torque required.

  • Patent number: 3991808
Abstract: An apparatus for the introduction of additives into a casting mold having an internal casting cavity which is fed molten metal through a controlled flow path formed in the mold with the apparatus continuously feeding a wire of additive material into the flow path within the mold for erodibly substantially completely mixing with the molten metal prior to its entry into the casting cavity.

  • Patent number: 3991810
Abstract: An apparatus for introducing additives into a casting mold having a flow path for directing a stream of molten metal into a casting cavity formed within the casting mold, and a mixing chamber in the flow path being in registry with a substantially endless wire of additive material continuously fed into the mixing chamber for erodibly substantially completely mixing with the molten metal flowing through the mixing chamber prior to its entry into the casting cavity.

  • Patent number: 3989112
Abstract: The motor grader drawbar assembly has a blade mounted on a circle gear and a drive unit operatively connected to the circle gear to selectively rotate it and the blade. A plurality of radially mounted pistons operate against an upright wall of the circle gear to provide a brake and/or locking mechanism. The pistons, and their accompanying cylinders, are mounted in members which also underlie and support the circle gear. Thus, the vertical position of the circle gear is not affected by the braking operation. A hydraulic circuit is provided to alternately operate the drive unit and the braking operation.

  • Patent number: 3968843
Abstract: A pneumatic hammer is provided with a handle which is isolated from the body of the tool so that vibrations of a reciprocating hammer are dampened. This is accomplished by a shock absorbing insert located between the handle and reciprocating hammer. The insert includes a rubber cushion member bonded to two steel coupling members, one of which is bolted to the handle and the other which is bolted to the body of the tool. An air passageway extends through the handle and cushion member to reciprocate the hammer. To protect the rubber from deterioration from the oil transported with the pressurized air, a neoprene liner is provided which extends through all of the members and which also as a flange at the remote face of each of the coupling members to provide sealing gaskets thereat.

  • Patent number: RE29293
Abstract: .Iadd.The steering clutches and steering brakes of a tractor are operated by foot pedals. Each of two pedals operates to release its respective clutch and apply the corresponding brake. A third pedal, located intermediate the other two, applies both brakes without operating the clutches. .Iaddend.

  • Patent number: RE29402
Abstract: A vibration isolating and heat insulating hand grip for use with hand held pneumatic chisels and similar pneumatic hand tools. A manually grippable rigid sleeve is slidably mounted on a housing member which surrounds a rigid, tubular shell to define an annular cavity. Internally secured to the shell is a compliant, non-porous sleeve, the shell and the sleeve defining an inflatable annular chamber. A bladder confined between the housing and the shell communicates with the inflatable annular chamber so that movement of fluid back and forth between the bladder and the chamber causes the compliant sleeve to grip or release a tool shank. Such movement of fluid is caused by an annulus internally mounted on the rigid, slidable sleeve in alignment with the bladder.

  • Patent number: RE29718
Abstract: An endless track assembly for use with a track-type vehicle having a notched drive sprocket is provided with link elements having a resilient mid-pitch impact lug located midway between the track link bushings. The resilient mid-pitch lug reduces track noise and wear due to metal-to-metal impact of the track against the sprocket and idler by having a topmost portion of greater height than adjacent bushings whereby initial contact is made by the lug so that impact energy is thereby absorbed prior to engagement of the track bushings.
