  • Patent number: 4731249
Abstract: There is disclosed a packaging method, and package, for animal feed supplement blocks. The packaging method comprises pouring a chemically hardening feed supplement mixture into a mold lined with a bag formed of a water soluble plastic, preferably polyvinyl alcohol. The top edges of the plastic bag are folded against the surface of the liquid mixture in the mold, and an adhesively backed label can be applied over the folded edges. The mold is bottomless, so that it can be readily stripped after the supplement mixture has solidified into a block. The resultant package greatly increases the storage life of the block as it substantially reduces moisture loss and eliminates mold growth. The package is a very attractive, glossy surfaced product, and the color and appearance of the block can be observed through the glossy transparent plastic film. As the plastic film is water soluble and digestible, it does not present any hazard to cattle in the event it is eaten by the cattle.

  • Patent number: 4583430
Abstract: There is disclosed a retaining ring for sockets which are attached to the shaft of a power driver, such as the pneumatic air tools, which is a molded elastomer ring with a diametric, integrally molded pin with a metal sleeve surrounding a portion of the pin. The sockets are provided with a receptacle which receives the shaft end of the driver and flats are provided on the shaft and receptacle to transmit torque. A transverse bore is provided in the shaft end and this receives the pin of the retaining ring. The specific improvement of this invention is a metal sleeve about the portion of the pin which extends across a boundry interface between the shaft end of the driver and the inside wall of the socket member to provide reinforcement to the pin, resisting shearing and abrasive wear.

  • Patent number: 4584175
Abstract: There is disclosed a method for the inhibiting of corrosion of a variety of metals by placing the metal in the presence of a plastic sheet carrier having incorporated therein effective amounts of corrosion inhibitors which include; (a) certain hydroxyalkyl fatty amines, and (b) certain fatty imidazolinium quaternary compounds. The aforementioned compounds provide remarkable corrosion protection for ferrous metals. There can be also included in the plastic certain benzotriazoles or tolyltriazoles when it is desired to extend the protection to copper and copper base alloys, and to aluminum and aluminum base alloys. When protection is also desired for magnesium and magnesium alloys with other metals such as aluminum, there can also be included in the plastic sheet carrier an organic phosphate adduct with diethyl amine. In the preferred embodiment, the metal objects to be protected are sealed in an envelope formed of the plastic sheet material.

  • Patent number: 4582393
Abstract: An optical stereoscopic system is disclosed that permits viewing of adjacent stereoscopic images and that is particularly suited for room viewing, permitting the observer to move about the room, and/or several or more observers to view the display from various positions about the room. The system comprises a pair of light-polarized stereoscopic images which are displayed in adjacent array, i.e., laterally or vertically side-by-side. Each observer is provided with eyepieces to view the display. The eyepieces are binocular and each eyepiece includes a polarized filter and a prism which deviates the line of sight for its respective eye a sufficient degree that both stereoscopic images are fused in the fovea of the eye. Preferred embodiments provide interchangeable prisms, particularly interchangeable Fresnel prisms to permit changing of the diopter of the viewing prisms in the eyepieces.

  • Patent number: 4553525
Abstract: There is disclosed a portable grill assembly for use with an extraneous fire source such as an indoor or outdoor fireplace, fire ring, campfire and the like. The grill assembly includes a grill sub-assembly including a flat grill for supporting a comestible such as a meat product, or wrapped vegetables and the like which is distally supported by an elongated bar having, at its opposite end, an insulated hand grip. The grill sub-assembly is used in combination with a support stand that comprises a base and a vertical standard supported thereon. The position of the grill is infinitely adjustable and, to this end, a support bracket is slideably received over the vertical standard of the stand with a clamp providing adjustable locking to the standard. The clamp provides a rest and a cantilevered support for the grill sub-assembly. This is accomplished by a pair of posts projecting from one side of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4538483
Abstract: There is disclosed an improved power assisted wrenching tool for the attachment of fasteners in loose and interference fit applications, and particularly for use with frangible fasteners. The improvement comprises a readily removable key which is used to immobilize the bolt during attachment of a threaded fastener, typically in a loose fit application. The key is retained in a wrenching tool assembly by a detent ball which is positively locked in the center core of the holder member of the wrenching tool and can only be disengaged by the axial alignment of the holder and the socket drive members of this assembly. The tool is thus easily adaptable for the application of fasteners in either loose or interference fit applications.

  • Patent number: 4537355
Abstract: There is disclosed an improved spray tip particularly suited for airless pressured spraying utilizing a spray orifice member in a removable turret member that can be rotated to reverse the orifice for cleaning. The design permits rapid exchange of the turret member, permitting quick substitution of different sized orifice members. The turret member is sealed in the assembly with a thin plastic seal and a seal support which is compressed in the assembly by hand tightening. The seal and seal support are restrained in the spray tip against dislodgement during removal of the turret member. A tee seal is provided which has a flange of reduced diameter which seats against the end of the spray gun to insure complete sealing with hand tightening of the retainer nut. The spray tip also includes a low friction bearing washer between its housing and retaining nut which, in cooperation with the tee seal, permits rotation of the spray tip without loosening its retainer nut.

  • Patent number: 4519972
Abstract: There is disclosed a method for imparting a decorative or printed pattern to the surface of rotationally molded products during their manufacture. In this method, the decorative patterns are formed on a sheet film transfer as a coating of pigments dispersed in a hydrocarbon wax which overlays a release agent, such as a silicone coating on the sheet film. The decorative wax pattern is applied to a preselected area of an inside wall of the rotational molding cavity by positioning the transfer against the surface of the wall and burnishing the pattern onto the interior wall of the mold cavity. Thereafter, the particulate molding resin is charged to the cavity and the product is molded in a conventional procedure, resulting in transfer of the pattern as pigments incorporated into the resin, with most of the wax surfacing and being excluded from the product.

  • Patent number: 4483481
Abstract: There is disclosed an improved spray tip particularly suited for airless pressured spraying utilizing a spray orifice member in a removeable turret member that can be rotated to reverse the orifice for cleaning. The design overcomes difficulties with prior art spray tips of this construction by the use of a thin resilient seal which is located between the turret member and a seal support which is compressed in the assembly. The use of the thin seal achieves a fluid tight seal that prevents leaking even of low viscosity liquids while avoiding the seizure problems which have characterized plastic seals of prior devices. The turret member is removeable without disassembly of the spray tip or its guard, thereby permitting facile interchanging of turret members with differently sized orifices.

  • Patent number: 4465236
Abstract: The invention is an adjustable spray nozzle useful in airless liquid spraying. The spray nozzle uses interchangeable spray orifice members which discharge against the beveled end of a cylindrical splash pin. The orifice member lines the cylindrical bore which receives the splash pin and the latter is axially adjustable in the spray nozzle body to permit an adjustably variable opening of the orifice, thereby permitting infinite adjustment of the volume of liquid and the area of the fan spray produced by the spray nozzle. The interchangeability of the orifice members provides a wide range of adjustability since interchangeable orifice members of varied orifice diameters can be readily substituted in the spray nozzle.1. Field of InventionThis invention relates to a spray nozzle and, in particular, relates to an adjustable spray nozzle useful in airless spraying of liquids such as paint.2.
