Abstract: Substituted triazones represented by the formula ##STR1## where R and R' are hydrogen, methyl, hydroxymethyl or ethyl and can be the same or different. The compounds have utility as bactericides and fungicides.
Abstract: A temperature responsive combination for transmitting or reflecting light comprising a double paned glass assembly and lying between said panes a temperature sensitive aqueous solution of a compound or mixture of compounds having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a lower alkyl of from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, methyl, ethyl and hydroxymethyl, and R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, propyl and methylethenyl.
Abstract: A water-dispersed coating composition of a short oil alkyd resin and an alkanolamine represented by the formula ##STR1## where R is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or hydroxymethyl.
Abstract: A method of controlling the growth of bacteria and fungi by applying to them or to the environment inhabited by them a growth inhibiting amount of an N-hydroxymethylalkylene diamine having an alkylene group of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, or mixtures thereof.
Abstract: Carbostyril derivatives useful as coccidiostats are prepared by reacting an ortho-halo benzaldehyde with a 2-alkyl-2-oxazoline, then heating at above about 200.degree. C thereby forming the carbostyril.
Abstract: A method of controlling the growth of bacteria, fungi, algae and viruses by applying to them, growth-inhibiting amounts of a monocyclic oxazolidine represented by a disclosed formula.
Abstract: The settling of finely-divided solids that are in suspension in an aqueous medium due to the presence of a colloidal argillaceous mineral is enhanced by adding a small but effective amount of hydrogen peroxide to the suspension. This invention is especially useful for treating aqueous suspensions of ultrafine clay and other materials resulting from the hydraulic concentration of an ore material, such as phosphate slimes.

Abstract: A method of combatting microorganisms by applying to them or to their habitat an oxazoline represented by the formula ##STR1## where R and R.sup.1 can be methyl, ethyl or hydroxymethyl and can be the same or different; X is H.sub.2 or (--CH.sub.2 OH).sub.2 and R.sup.2 is alkyl of 4 to 16 carbon atoms.
Abstract: A method for combatting coccidiosis in poultry by orally administering thereto a substituted quinoline or a compound represented by the formula ##STR1##This is a division, of copending application Ser. No. 602,602, filed Aug. 6, 1975 now U.S. Pat. No. 4,006,148.
Abstract: A water-dispersed coating composition of a short oil alkyd resin and tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane. The tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane improves the flexibility of coatings thereof without undue loss of hardness.
Abstract: A clay slurry containing 50% or more of non-volatile solids comprising calcined kaolin clay and from 8 - 331/3% of hydrated kaolin clay based on the weight of the calcined clay. Additionally the slurry contains from 0.01% to 10% of a suspending agent such as bentonite clay, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose and a dispersant such as a non-ionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant or an alkanolamine.
