    Abstract: A fluoride supplement calculator utilizes two concentrically positioned relatively rotatable disks. A front disk has a plurality of fluoride level apertures which overlie groups of fluoride dosage amounts carried on the second disk. An age scale is also placed on the obverse surface of the second disk. The second disk has a single aperture which is used in conjunction with the reverse surface of the first disk to depict fluoride uptake and enamel formation in teeth of patients of various ages.

    Abstract: A method for preparing high protein rice flour (HPRF) containing low manganese is disclosed wherein essential steps comprise:blending rice flour and water at a pH of 3.4 to 4.6;separating the insoluble washed rice flour;resuspending the washed rice flour and adjusting the suspension to a pH and temperature within the operable range of an alpha-amylase enzyme;treating the suspension with an alpha-amylase enzyme for a sufficient time to hydrolyze the starch to 5 to 50 DE content;adjusting the treated mixture to a pH of 3.4 to 4.6; and theseparating rice syrup from low manganese high protein rice flour.The high protein rice flour contains more than 16% protein, has a manganese content of 50 micrograms or less per gram of protein and is further treated with a proteolytic enzyme to provide a modified low manganese HPRF suitable for use in powdered infant formula.

Compounds of this series demonstrate activity as calcium and alphaadrenergic blockers in in vitro testing and antihypertensive, antiischemic, and platelet function inhibiting actions in in vivo screens.

Such compounds are useful as intermediates in the production of tiprinast and related compounds.There is also disclosed a process for the regioselective synthesis of a compound of Formula I wherein R.sup.1 is CH.sub.3 and R.sup.2 is (CH.sub.3).sub.2 CHCH.sub.2 which comprises reacting a mixture of compounds of the following formulas: ##STR2## and ##STR3## with trichloroacetonitrile under acidic conditions.
