Abstract: A quick-change tool holder has an enlarged forward end, a rearwardly extending shank, and an axial bore extending through the enlarged forward end and the shank with the bore having a diameter sized to receive the shank of a cutting tool. A second blind hole extends into the side surface of the enlarged forward end. An extraction device, such as the shank of a worn tool, is inserted into the blind hole. Where the extraction device is a worn tool, the cutting end of the tool is hit with a hammer to remove the tool from a base block mounting.
Abstract: A backstop for stopping the movement of a product as it comes off a conveyor of a manufacturing line includes a motor connected by a linkage to a longitudinally moveable strike plate. The motor applies force to the strike plate in accordance with a predetermined curve to bring the product to a soft stop.

Abstract: A retraction tool for removing the shank of a tool holder from a base block mounting includes an elongate threaded member having a hook threaded on one end thereof. The hook has a hook end for holding to the forward end of a tool holder. A hammer moveable along the length of the elongate member impacts against said stop for pulling said tool holder from said base block mounting.
Abstract: A transportation device consisting of an elongate central member with a handle at one end, and a pair of wheels rotatably mounted on the other end. A first cross member is oriented generally perpendicular to the central member between the first two ends thereof and has a connector attached thereto for removably retaining an object to the first cross member. A yoke is moveably attached to the elongate member near the pair of wheels and a second cross member also having a connector thereon for removably retaining an object thereto is attached to the second cross member.

Abstract: A marinating machine rotates a drum containing the food to be marinated. The drum is positioned on a pair of rotatable shafts only one of which is drivingly engaged to a motor rotating the drum. The drum is rotated by a drive wheel that is mounted on the rotating shaft. The drive wheel is locked for rotation with the shaft by a set screw in a threaded bore extending into the wheel at an angle with the axis of rotation of the wheel, and with the nearest portion of the bore spaced from the axis of rotation to allow the threads of the set screw to cut into the surface of the rotating shaft.
Abstract: A valve operating device includes a mounting for attachment to a vehicle and an elongate arm, the free end of which is only moveable in a plane parallel to the ground. The joints of the arm pivot around vertical axes and the arm is locked into a desired orientation by a brake at each joint. A valve turning machine is at the free end of the arm. The brakes are engaged and released by a control on the valve turning machine.
Abstract: An oxygenation device consists of a first vertically oriented tube having electrically conductive plates for forming oxygen by electrolysis. Above the plates is a pump formed by a second length of tube fitted within the first tube with a spacing between the walls of the first and second lengths of tubing thereby forming a cavity. Compressed air is admitted into the cavity. The second length of tubing has an open lower end for receiving air from the cavity. Air enters the second tube in belches that form large bubbles.
Abstract: A cooking oil container has a filter cup retained at the upper end thereof. The filter cup retains a planar circular filter at the lower end and a seal between the filter holder and the bottom of the filter cup prevents oil from overflowing around the circumference of the filter holder to avoid the filter. The filter cup is spaced from the inner walls of the container to allow air to escape from the bottom of the container. The top of the container has a grip ring and the inverted top is useable as a drip tray for the filter cup while oil is being poured out of the container.

Abstract: A ruler has a body with a forward surface and a side surface defining a straight line. An elongate member having an abrasive outer edge is positioned along the side surface. The abrasive edge assists in sharpening a cutting tool moved along the edge.
Abstract: A device for extracting a tool holder from a base block mounting has a front plate and a pair of rearwardly extending arms contacting the base block mounting. An extraction nut has at least two parallel threaded holes therein. A threaded stud is threaded into one of the threaded holes and the length extends through a hole in the front plate and through the tool holder and is retained by a nut. An extraction bolt is threaded through the second threaded hole of the extraction nut with the distal end engaging the front plate.
Abstract: A fan resistor is formed with a resistive pattern of electrically conductive material sandwiched between two panels of thermally conductive material. An insulating barrier on each surface of the resistive pattern electrically insulates it from the thermally conductive panels. The resistive pattern is cut from a sheet of metal using a stamping machine and the cut resistive pattern is dropped on one of the panels, a surface of which has an electrically insulating barrier thereon.
Abstract: A print pad for printing on a hard surface has a tip portion made of a silicon rubber having a first durometer. Rearward of the tip portion is a central body portion made of a silicon rubber having a durometer that is different than the durometer of the tip portion. Rearward of the central body is a base suitable to attachment to a machine.
Abstract: A rotatable tool has a tool body that is generally symmetrical about a longitudinal axis, an enlarged cutting head, and a rearwardly extending shank. The shank joins the enlarged cutting head at an annular flange having an annular inner portion contiguous with the forward end of the shank and an annular outer portion contiguous with the outer circumference of the enlarged cutting head. The annular flange is not planar. Instead, the annular inner portion of the flange is positioned axially forward of the annular outer portion.
Abstract: A ladder has a pair of parallel stiles and a plurality of rungs extending between the stiles. Midway along the length of the ladder is a pair of moveable arms having a first end rotatably attached to one of the stiles and a pair of wheels rotatably attached to the second ends thereof. The arms are moveable between a first position in which the axis of the arms are generally parallel to the axis of the stiles and the axle for the wheels attached to the second end is adjacent to the stiles, and a second position in which the second end of the arms and the wheels attached thereto are spaced from the stile for rolling the ladder across the ground.

Abstract: A grommet for sealing the wires extending through the wall of a fuel tank is formed by first removing a portion of the covering exposing the strands of wires within. A liquid sealing agent is applied to the strands and the strands are compressed to displace the strands. A hardener is then applied and then the strands are encapsulated in the body of the grommet.
Abstract: A pipe boot includes a plurality of co-axial hollow cylindrical sections joined by an annular shoulder between successive sections. A first annular bead and a second annular bead surround each tubular section with the first annular bead positioned radially outward of each annular shoulder. The second annular bead is spaced a short distance from the second annular bead leaving an annular trough between them.
Abstract: A compressible sleeve for fitting around the shank of a rotatable tool has a cut out portion at the forward end thereof. The sleeve is compressed to a diameter less than the inner diameter of the bore of a tool holder by an annular wear ring having an inwardly directed projection that retains the cylindrical sleeve to a diameter that is less than the diameter of the bore of the tool holder. When the shank of the tool is driven into the bore of the tool holder, the wear ring is forced forwardly along the sleeve until the projection falls in the cut out portion of the sleeve allowing the sleeve to expand to the diameter of the bore of the tool holder and locking the wear ring from rotating with the tool.
Abstract: An assembly machine for assembling a rotatable tool has a frame with a base. A retainer on the base holds a blank tool body with the cylindrical shank thereof extending upwardly. A motor assembly at the upper end of the frame moves a cylindrical assembly member axially downwardly and a tubular lower end of the assembly member forces as annular wear ring around a compressible sleeve on the shank of the tool.
Abstract: An adjustable size pitch pocket is formed by assembling together two identical pocket members to form a whole pocket. Each pocket member has a U-shaped vertical wall with a short wall section and a parallel long wall section. The long wall section has transverse scorings for cutting the length of the long walls of two mated pocket members to form a pocket of a desired size.
