  • Patent number: 6741157
Abstract: An electric switch having a circuit breaker includes a manually operable actuator that moves one contact between a first and a second position. A bimetal member moves another contact between a first and a second position in response to an electric current above a given threshold passing therethrough, and the movement of this contact to the second position releases a catch that retains a spring loaded indicator in its retracted position. The two contacts abut one another closing the circuit when both contacts are in their first positions. An excessive current will therefore break the circuit and release the indicator to move to the extended position. The releasable catch resets after the bimetal member has cooled and it will again retain the indicator in the retracted position when it is subsequently manually depressed.

  • Patent number: 6695175
Abstract: A valve assembly includes a valve housing defining a metering chamber and an elongated stem. The stem is axially movable with respect to the valve housing for dispensing liquid and is rotatable for adjusting the length of the stroke of a piston to thereby select the volume of liquid dispensed with each actuation of the stem. A sliding float member is fitted around the stem within the chamber and is axially slidable with respect to the stem but is locked for rotation with the stem. The lower surface of the sliding float abuts, and floats above the upper surface of the piston, and the lower end of the stem is rotatable within the piston. A spring extends between a prong on the stem and the sliding float for urging the stem axially outward of the container and for urging the piston in a direction which maximizes the volume of the metering chamber such that the spring rotates with the stem and the stem rotates free of the piston.

  • Patent number: 6592459
Abstract: A player at a casino is provided the opportunity to wager an additional bet to win an additional reward in which several types of games and a plurality of tables of each set vie for the same reward. Each gaming table has a playing surface suitable for use by a game, and all the game tables participating in the universal non-progressive reward have the same predetermined number of play stations, or a multiple of that number. Each play station also has an identification number or symbol which is one of a set of identification numbers, with each number in the set occurring the same number of times at each table. The game includes an additional reward token purchasable by a player which is displayed on the play surface to designate that the player is wagering in the game. Each type of casino game has a set of winning conditions under which a player positioned at a given play station is entitled to win a portion of the additional reward.

  • Patent number: 6481507
Abstract: A doweling hole drilling machine includes a vehicle such as a tractor having a frame pivotally mounted to the side of the tractor. The frame is moveable around an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle from a first horizontal orientation to a second vertical orientation, and the raising or lowering of the frame is powered by hydraulic cylinders. Positioned on the frame is a plurality of parallel mounted spaced drilling machines, each of which is positioned for drilling a hole perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. Each of the drilling machines is mounted on a drive assembly for moving the machine axially to thereby force a drill bit in the machine to drill a hole. The frame is laterally adjustable in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tractor and the lateral adjustment is hydraulically powered. The frame is also horizontally adjustable to position the drills to bore at the desired depth into a slab of concrete.

  • Patent number: 6446754
Abstract: The tracks of a railroad yard system having an access track an a plurality of switches leading to a plurality of yard tracks are lubricated by a lubricating station positioned on the access track. The lubricating station has a positive displacement pump and dispenses a continues path of lubricant along a portion of track having a length equal to the circumference of a railroad car wheel such that the wheels will carry lubricant along the tracks of the system. Detectors are positioned on the yard tracks to determine the speed of the cars as they roll down track and into the yard tracks. A microprocessor receives information from the detectors and regulates the amount of lubricant dispensed through by the station.

  • Patent number: 6443528
Abstract: A cover for a vehicle wheel having a drop center is generally complementary in shape to the wheel and has a plurality of connectors spaced around the inside surface thereof. Each connector has a moveable hook and an adjusting bolt. Rotation of the adjusting bolt in one direction extends the hook until it engages the shoulder in the cylindrical portion of the wheel formed by the drop center to thereby retain the cover to the wheel. Rotation of the adjusting bolt in the opposite direction withdraws the hook out of engagement with the shoulder such that the cover can be removed from or reinstalled to the wheel.

  • Patent number: 6437559
Abstract: A device for measuring the speed of a golf club has a pair of coils spaced a given distance apart with each of the coils forming an oscillating electro-magnetic field which are positioned to interrupt the course of the head of a golf club. When a golf club head successively passes through the first and second oscillating magnetic fields, the natural frequency of the combined fields is altered. A detector circuit including a phase locked loop detects the change in frequency as the club successively pass through the two fields and the time elapsed is measured by a clock and recorded in the memory of a microprocessor which uses the information, along with the given distance between the fields to calculate the speed of the club.
