  • Patent number: 4942380
Abstract: A electromagnetically shielded and insulated housing assembly (500) is provided having a housing member (200) and a flexible member (100). The housing member has an open side (240) and enclosing sides (215). The flexible member has a layer (110,180,185) of conductive material disposed on selected areas of each opposing side (150,155). The conductive areas are electrically connected by a plurality of conductive feed-throughs (120,115). One side of the flexible member also has adhesive areas (130,125), which are separated from the conductive area. The conductive area of the flexible member is placed over the open side of the housing member and covers it, and thereby electrical contact between the housing and the peripheral edges (250) of the open side is produced. Upward folding of the flexible member bonds the adhesive areas to the opposed enclosing sides of the housing. The other side of the flexible member is connected to a main ground, thereby electromagnetically shielding the housing assembly.

  • Patent number: 4940955
Abstract: A stripline structure has a stabilized resonant frequency against temperature variations. It includes a lower and an upper substrate of ceramic materials, each substrate having opposing inner and outer surfaces. Each of the outer surfaces are covered with a layer of conductive material constituting ground planes. Resonator strips of conductive material are situated on each of the inner surfaces, and each have one end connected to the ground, while the opposite end is an open circuit. The upper and lower substrates are bonded together along the length of their respective resonator strips, thereby producing the stripline structure. The length of the resonator determines the resonant frequency of the stripline structure. The two substrates are made of materials having opposite dielectric temperature coefficient.

  • Patent number: 4939421
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for reducing radiated interference from a light source wherein a filter device is coupled across the light source after a predetermined time has expired from the starting of the light source. In this way, the filter does not interfere with the starting of the light source, however, after being coupled, the filter prevents radio frequency interference generated by the light source from radiating from the light source and associated wiring and interferring with nearby radio receiving equipment.

  • Patent number: 4929062
Abstract: A display system includes a liquid crystal display, a light guide behind the display, and light emitting diodes. The light guide is a molded slab of clear material with a front display surface a rear surface and six bordering surfaces with two planes depressed into its rear surface and having two hollow half cylindrical extensions integrally molded with closed top and bottom ends. The rear surface and bordering surfaces and outer surface of the extensions are coated with reflective white paint. These extensions receive light from surface mounted LED's which are positioned directly below the extensions to redirect the light into the light guide.

  • Patent number: 4887690
Abstract: A speaker grille assembly (800) includes a speaker grille 410), a felt (200), and a speaker (300). The speaker grille has a front surface (420), and a rear surface (430). The speaker grille (410) has plurality of equally spaced channels (440) for passage of sound. The sound channels (440) are formed such that that the rear surface port (422) is substantially larger than front surface port (411) thereby enhancing acoustic power transfer by increasing the effective sound passage space. The sound channels (440) can be formed such that the passage through the grille (410) are provided with either gradual or sudden transition from front port (411) to the rear port (422) resulting in a larger rear surface apertures.

  • Patent number: 4885550
Abstract: A single input, differential output amplifier (50) includes two Gallium Arsenide field effect transistors: one arranged to form a common gate amplifier (55) to provide a non-inventing output (60), and the other arranged to form a common source (65) amplifier to provide an inverting output (61). The input of each FET is connected to receive an input signal simultaneously thereby minimizing phase delay in the differential output signals. In another aspect of the invention, the non-inverting stage (55) is incorporated into the biasing network for the inverting ampllifier (65).
