Abstract: The invention relates to a product carrier for circuit boards (23), which are subjected on this carrier to an operation, more particularly to a component mounting operation. The circuit boards (23) are provided for this purpose with location holes (21), into which location pins (5) engage, which can be arranged on the base plate (1) of the carrier in order to fix the circuit board (23) on the product carrier in a given position and at a given height with respect to the base plate (1). The location pins (5) are arranged on the base plate (1) so that they can be individually lowered. Between the location pins (5) there are provided mounting areas (27) for supporting pins (29), from which these pins (29) extend vertically up to the lower side (35) of the circuit board (23) between components which may already be provided at said side to additionally define a supporting plane (37).
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling an electron beam pattern generator which writes a pattern on a substrate with an electron beam. A pattern store holds the defining coordinates of a set of trapezia 9, 13, 14, 15, 16 which together constitute the pattern. The set of trapezia in the store are divided into groups written in turn on the substrate, successive groups containing successively coarser 13, 14, 15, 16 to finer 9 pattern details. The groups are preceded in the pattern store by respective data words which instruct a trapezium generator to produce scanning steps of successive groups at successively higher to lower frequencies respectively. Coarse detail is thereby written quickly and fine detail receives the correct electron exposure.
Abstract: A method of making an axial filament structure for a lamp in which the filament is concentric with the axis of the envelope, wherein a hook-like shape (131) is formed in a support member (117) which stretches the filament to its final turns-per-inch ratio.

Abstract: A rapid start fluorescent fixture with two ballast means each having three pairs of associated lamp wires in which one pair of said associated wires of each ballast means is used to connect a heater winding to electrodes of a pair of lamps with which the ballast means is otherwise not associated.
Abstract: An integrated logic circuit with complementary transistors which is constructed from cells which form reproductions of logic equations, in which each cell has at least three transistors arranged one next to the other in a row and three complementary transistors arranged one next to the other. Series arrangements of transistors or transistor circuits in one row corrugated to parallel arrangements of transistors or transistor circuits in the other row. This arrangement results in compact layouts which are easy to design with computer assistance. The arrangement is particularly useful for MSI and LSI circuits.

Abstract: The invention relates to a capacitive sensor for the measurement, under dynamic conditions, of at least one characteristic of a turbo-machine, this sensor comprising a conductive surface intended to be fixed to the casing near a succession of rotating blades to form the first plate of a capacitor, the second plate of which consists, in succession, of each one of the ends of the rotating blades when these ends pass in proximity to this conductive surface. This sensor comprises an electrical interconnection means to connect this conductive surface to first electrical detection means for measuring the variations of the capacitance of the capacitor thus formed. According to the invention, this electrical interconnection means also constitutes a means for connecting this conductive surface to second electrical detection means for measuring the temperature of the casing in the region of fixing of the said conductive surface.

Abstract: The invention relates to a voltage/frequency converter which contains a first and second change-over switch (13, 20). The first change-over switch supplies in its first position a measurement voltage and in its second position a reference voltage to a first input (15) of a comparison circuit (16). The second change-over switch supplies in its first position a first signal to be integrated and in its second position a second signal to be integrated via an integrator (22, 34) to the second input of the comparison circuit. The comparison circuit generates pulses dependent on the measurement voltage and sets the two change-over switches into their first position when the voltage supplied by the integrator is equal to the reference voltage, and into their second position when the value supplied by the integrator is equal to the measurement voltage. In this arrangement, one of the signals to be integrated is derived from the measurement voltage.
Abstract: A starting and operating circuit for a discharge lamp in which the ballast reactance includes first, second and third coil segments with the third coil segment compromising part of the ignitor circuit and being electrically connected between the first and second coil segments.
Abstract: A semiconductor switch comprising a lateral DMOS and a lateral IGT both of which can be fabricated in a monolithic integrated circuit. In operation the lateral DMOS stays on while the lateral IGT is switched off in order to reduce turn off power dissipation.

Abstract: In a circuit arrangement for starting and operating a high-pressure gas discharge lamp (8) by means of a voltage converter comprising at least one semiconductor switch (5, 6), which can be switched periodically to the conductive and to the non-conductive state by a control unit (32, 33, 34) in such a manner that the lamp receives a pulsatory supply current having an operating duty cycle between 0.1 and 0.7, the control unit (32, 33, 34) switches the semiconductor switch (5, 6) upon starting of the lamp (8) in such a manner that the duty cycle upon starting (starting duty cycle) is increased with respect to the operating duty cycle.
Abstract: A signal distribution cable network in which a plurality of information channels are defined by respective carrier frequencies and serve a plurality of local signal sources (SS1, SS2, SS3) and signal destination receivers (SR1, SR2, SR3) connected to the network. The network has a channel allocation controller (CT) which operates on request to allocate temporarily an unused channel for transporting signals from a local signal source (SS1, SS2, SS3) to a signal destination receiver (SR1, SR2, SR3). The controller (CT) transmits tuning signals to the local signal source and the signal destination receiver to tune them to the carrier frequency of the allocated channel. The channel allocation excludes channels which normally carry signals from external signal sources.
Abstract: A frequency synthesizer is provided in which the output is a truly continuous sweep of frequency, not a staircase of spot frequencies. A programmable frequency divider PD is connected to the output of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to divide the VCO output by a variable integer N. At each VCO output cycle, the integer N is incremented (or decremented). The output of a phase comparator PC, which compares the divider output with a fixed reference frequency, is connected via an integrator (10) to the VCO frequency control input (2). A constant phase error produces a ramp rise of VCO frequency.
Abstract: A signal distribution cable network system in which frequency division multiplexing is employed to provide a plurality of information channels. A channel allocation controller (CT) allocates free channels on request for the transport of signals from a local signal source (SS1, SS2, SS3) to a signal destination receiver (SR1, SR2, SR3) connected to the network. The local signal source includes a programmable modulator (CFS, VCO, MOD) which is set by the channel controller (CT) to operate at the carrier frequency of the selected channel. The signal level of the signals transmitted by the local signal source is measured in the controller and adjusted to compensate for signal attenuation by a command signal sent by the controller to the programmable modulator in the local signal source.
