  • Patent number: 4023758
Abstract: Disclosed is a plastic device for supporting cords and other elongated bodies which device essentially comprises an atoll-shaped main body having an opening, a pair of flexible door members protruding from the edges of the opening toward the interior of the main body and intersecting each other for thereby shutting the opening and an anchor piece to be inserted into an aperture of a plate. In use, the plastic device is fixed by pushing and inserting the anchor piece of the device into an aperture of a plate, and a bundle of wires are pushed against the intersecting door members so that the door members are yieldingly opened, thus allowing the bundle of the cords to enter the inner space of the atoll-shaped main body. Then, the door members are restored to the original intersecting position, thus preventing the cords from slipping out of the inner space of the main body.

  • Patent number: 4021892
Abstract: The invention relates to straps which include an elongate strap portion, a housing at one end of the strap and a screw member which is adapted to be positioned in the housing to draw the strap portion through the housing. In particular, the invention relates to straps which are easily drawn to a predetermined tension about an article by means of a screw member having a weakened section between the head and the threaded shank. The weakened section fractures when a predetermined torque on the screw member is reached, preventing overtightening and also indicating that the required tension in the strap portion has been reached. The screw may have two heads, the second head being revealed when the first breaks off, to permit the strap portion to be released. Straps according to the invention may also be used as security seals, if no second head is provided, as then the strap must be broken to be removed.

  • Patent number: 4018331
Abstract: Multipackaging devices made of a resilient plastics-material such as low density polyethylene. The devices are made in strip form and are integrally interconnected longitudinally of the strip for continuous machine application to adjacent rows of containers with selective transverse severance of the applied strip to form individual packages of selected members of containers. The strip comprises a row of bands along each side thereof with intersecting and diagonally arranged substantially straight-line band segments extending between the side bands. The band segments cooperate with each other and with the side bands to define additional intermediate bands between the side bands. The strip is substantially narrower than the width of the rows of containers so that substantial transverse stretching of the strip is required to apply the side and intermediate bands to the rows of containers.
