Abstract: A process for treating wastewater in a dynamic bio-sequenced manner in a single SBR reactor already filled with an activated sludge mixed liquor. In this process which is simple, fast and biologically and hydraulically "on going" and which allows one single SBR reactor to process typically twice as many batches of water per day as is presently processed within the existing SBR process, a given amount of wastewater rapidly introduced into the SBR reactor below the clear water level to cause the level of the wastewater within the tank to raise relatively uniformly and vertically and the supernatant clarified water to enter decantation pipes and be discharged out of the reactor. Then, the scum floating on top of the wastewater is collected and discharged and the mixed liquor is mixed and aerated as long as necessary to achieve the required treatment.
Abstract: A process for making a light color maple syrup from a water-containing sap. In a first step, the sap is boiled under normal pressure to evaporate part of the water contained therein in the form of steam, to form the maple syrup and to develop caramelized and sweet characteristics and give flavor and a tinted color to this maple syrup. In a second step, the sap is heated at a temperature lower than the boiling temperature of the sap and atomized through an air circulating column to evaporate another part of the water contained therein. This second step which can be carried out before the first one, permits to concentrate the sap, to increase its sugar content and to avoid further caramelization thereof. The sap which is so obtained with an increased sugar content, may be recycled as long as necessary until a desired sugar concentration corresponding to a predetermined Brix number is reached.
Abstract: Disclosed is an instant game card, preferably of the BINGO type, having a substrate onto which is printed a series of playing numbers. An unscratchable translucent varnish is applied onto the substrate and covers the playing numbers. A scratchable rub-off coating is applied onto the varnish, in such a manner as to surround the playing numbers without hiding the same. In use, when playing numbers are called, scratching of the scratchable rub-off coating surrounding each playing number that correspond to one of the called numbers, allow a player to visualize the position of the called playing numbers on his or her card.
Abstract: A tool for use to remove weeds, especially dandelions, which comprises an open rectangular frame having an upper rod-like member defining a handle and a lower rod-like member of a length sufficient to receive the foot of an operator. This open rectangular frame gives room not only to the foot of the operator, but also to his or her knee, thereby making the tool much easier to use. The tool also comprises a tapered extraction tube externally secured to a lower lateral side of the frame. This particular positioning of the extraction tube is of particular importance, since, thanks to its eccentric position, a rotational force may be applied to it by both the hand and foot of the operator which holds the frame, respectively. Thanks to its structure, the taperated extraction tube is also self-cleaning, as it empties automatically when another plug of soil or earth containing a weed to be extracted is inserted therein.
Abstract: Disclosed is a centrifugal liquid pump, preferably of the rotary disc type, which incorporates a gas injection assembly of very simple yet efficient structure, whereby up to 15% per volume of a gas such as air, may be mixed with the pumped liquid. The gas injection is achieved with a gas feed pipe that enters the pump through its axial inlet and with a plurality of gas injector pipes that projects from the gas feed pipe radially within the impeller.
Abstract: A chair assembly for use in a vehicle such as a locomotive, having a height adjustable base which is free of any wobble and shaking motion, whether being raised, lowered or in use by a driver. The chair also has lateral movement capacity as well as fore-aft or side-aft movement relative to the base. A footrest adjustable by the feet of the driver is further provided.

Abstract: A water bicycle comprises a flotation board, a propulsion and seat unit including a mounting flange, a seat, foot pedals mounted for rotation driven by a person sitting on the seat, a propeller and a coupling connecting the pedals to the propeller, an opening in the board through which the propeller may pass and a surrounding edge surface able to receive the flange. A connector is provided for releasably connecting the flange to the edge surface. The bicycle includes a bore in the board with a bushing seat surrounding an upper end of the bore, a handlebar unit including a shaft and a bushing provided on the shaft above a lower end of the shaft, the bushing engaging the bushing seat and the shaft being supported and rotatable in the bore, and a rudder unit connected to the handlebar shaft.
Abstract: The modular boat has an improved assembly which is more compact when disassembled and is more solid when assembled. The boat comprises two side cockpit members, a transverse bow member, a transverse stern member and a middle member covering an opening between the side members. The side members each provide a middle portion of a hull with the bow portion and stern portion of each hull being provided by the bow member and the stern member respectively.
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a spline inserting wheel, a motor for rotating the wheel, and a support mountable to a fixed structure having one end manually moveable over a frame supporting table surface. The wheel is rotatably mounted to one end of the support about an axis normal to the table surface, and a pneumatic cylinder applies a downward pressure on the wheel. The spline can be inserted into the frame by moving the support to locate the wheel over the groove and spline, applying pressure to the wheel to insert the spline into the groove, and driving the wheel to advance the wheel over the groove to insert the spline along the groove, while rotating the wheel about the normal axis to follow the groove.
Abstract: A method for constructing a modular door is disclosed. The door has a front surface member and a rear surface member that are identical in shape and each formed of modular elements made of stamped sheet metal. The door also incorporates reinforcing wood boards glued between the front and rear surface members, as well as foam injected between the boards and members. This makes the door very solid and well insulated. The construction of this door is easy, cost and time saving and not waste producing.
Abstract: A combined hydraulic circuit to be used with a hydraulically powered implement of a motorized equipment and its engine-driven host vehicle. The combined hydraulic circuit allows the implement to be operated with a vehicle, such as a tractor, which does not have the adequate capacity to power the implement without the usual requirement of using an hydraulic fluid reservoir and a filter in the independent hydraulic circuit of the implement. Instead, the implement uses the tractor hydraulic circuit to clean, cool and pressurize in part the hydraulic fluid in its hydraulic circuit which has a hydraulic motor or a hydraulic cylinder driven by a hydraulic pump. This hydraulic pump can be a generated orbital rotor pump since the supplied fluid entering the pump is already pressurized unlike a circuit that uses a hydraulic fluid reservoir. The implements may be rotary brooms, mowers, portable saw mills, hoeing machines, loaders or snowblowers.
