  • Patent number: 6372251
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a semi-solid formulation comprising a lipid-regulating agent. Said formulation is prepared by solubilizing said lipid-regulating agent in one or more liquid components to form a clear liquid solution, then solidifying said solution by adding one or more solid or semi-solid components to said solution to form a semi-solid formulation. Said formulation can melt or dissolve upon mixing with a bulk aqueous medium. The resulting formulation results in an increase in drug solubility and oral bioavailability, and an improved dissolution rate.

  • Patent number: 6367779
Abstract: A manual post puller mechanism having a lever extendable for increasing the amount of leverage applied for pulling the post from the ground, the lever being securable within a base and serving as a handle graspable by the operator for carrying the mechanism between locations. A chain extends downwardly from a chain engaging front portion of the lever which includes slots that allow the position of the chain to be adjusted so as to vary the amount of leverage applied to the post. A post holder mechanism carried at the bottom of the chain engages the post and defines an enclosed generally rectangular opening that receives the post. A pair of pivot plates coupled with the lever generally hinder an operator's fingers from being pinched during post pulling operations.

  • Patent number: 6369404
Abstract: An electron device for single spin measurement, comprising: a semiconductor substrate into which at least one donor atom is introduced to produce a donor nuclear spin electron system having large electron wave functions at the nucleus of the donor atom. An insulating layer above the substrate. A first conducting gate on the insulating layer above the donor atom to control the energy of the bound electron state at the donor. A second conducting gate on the insulating layer adjacent the first gate to generate at least one additional electron in the substrate. In use, a single electron is bound to the donor, and the donor atom is weakly coupled to the additional electron(s) in the substrate. The gates are biased so that the additional electron(s) in the substrate will move to the donor, but only if the spins of the electrons and the donor electron or nucleus are in a relationship which permits the movement.

Abstract: A switch core is set forth that comprises a plurality of duplex switches that are interconnected with a interconnection fabric to implement, for example, strictly non-blocking operation of the switch core for reciprocal traffic. In one embodiment, an N-way reciprocal switch is implemented. The N-way reciprocal switch comprises a plurality of duplex switches numbering N of at least a 1×(N−1) switch type (e.g., the duplex switches have at least N−1 ports available for connection to implement the interconnection fabric). The interconnection fabric interconnects the plurality of duplex switches so that each duplex switch is connected to every other duplex switch used in the interconnection fabric by a single connection. A similar architecture using switches numbering N of at least a 1×N switch type are also set forth.
