Abstract: A one-piece, re-usable, golf ball tee, preferably of stiff, high impact resistant plastic, comprising an initially aboveground golf ball cradle, and ground-engaging means provided with a downwardly yieldable, cradle-supporting arm; the arm being positioned to be struck by a fast-moving golf club head at a point rearwardly of the cradle and prior to the club head striking the ball whereby the arm and cradle are instantly forcefully depressed and the golf ball is momentarily suspended in air when struck by the club head; the tee including a prong depending from the cradle and adapted to penetrate the ground and to prevent upward rebound of the cradle when so depressed.

Abstract: An apparatus, and method, for producing finger and thumb holes in one bowling ball which are identic to those existing in another bowling ball; the essential purpose being to duplicate--in a new bowling ball, for example--the exact size, shape, direction, and span of the finger and thumb holes in an existing, properly hand-fitting, bowling ball.

Abstract: An improvement in a heavy-duty refuse compactor which includes a large capacity container having an initially open rear end normally closed by a top-hinged, releasably-locked door adapted to be swung upward to an open position for discharge of refuse from the container; the improvement comprising a counterbalance mechanism, connected between the container and the door, arranged to assist in the manual opening and closing of the door by the operator, and to permit such opening and closing from a convenient position. The counterbalance mechanism includes a novel link and lever array wherein the lever carries a heavy counterweight.

Abstract: In the machine tool art, a dual cutter boring head which comprises a cylindrical body having side-by-side, tool-holding slides mounted diametrally thereon; the slides at their outer ends being fitted with cutters disposed exteriorly of the periphery of the body, and micro-adjustment mechanism within the confines of the body arranged to impart simultaneous, opposed, reversible motion to the slides whereby to precisely and equally adjust the slides and the cutters thereon outwardly or inwardly, selectively.

Abstract: A lid unit for a refuse compactor which includes a bin having a power-actuated compacting blade therein; the lid unit comprising a flat, dual-section lid supported on the bin in normally closing relation thereto, the lid embodying a front section and a rear section transversely hinged together at adjacent edges, the lid being longitudinally shiftable a limited distance on the bin to different selective positions, and instrumentalities provided between the lid and the bin arranged to prevent opening of either of the lid sections when the lid is in one position, to permit the front lid section only to be opened when the lid is in a second position, and to permit the rear lid section to be folded onto the front lid section and the folded-together sections then swung to depend in front of the bin when the lid is in a third position.

Abstract: A weeding rod unit arranged in combination with a plow which embodies a plowshare and a shank upstanding from the plowshare for attachment to a tractor-drawn tool bar; the weeding rod unit comprising an arm secured to and projecting rearwardly from the shank adjacent but above the plowshare, individual spring rods projecting laterally and oppositely outwardly from the arm in a plane to run in weeding relation at or slightly below ground level when the plowshare is at working depth, and said oppositely projecting rods being integral with and emanating from a vertical-axis spring coil fixedly secured to said arm.

Abstract: A self-propelled dolly for moving (towing or pushing) a tricycle landing gear-type airplane which includes a nose wheel journaled on a depending strut; the dolly embodying--on a manually controlled, wheel-supported, reversibly power driven mobile frame--a vertically power adjustable ramp at the forward end of the mobile frame adapted to receive and elevate said nose wheel preparatory to moving the airplane from one location to another, and a forwardly projecting, power-actuated, universally mounted hook unit on the mobile frame adapted to engage and pull on the strut whereby to draw the nose wheel onto the ramp when lowered, and--while remaining in strut-engagement--holding the strut against accidental escape of the nose wheel from the ramp when raised for moving the airplane by the dolly.
