  • Patent number: 5514957
Abstract: In magnetic resonance imaging, prepared first is a three-dimensional image data consisting of a plurality of tomographic image data of a diagnostic portion of an object being examined. Then, data of a pilot image in the three-dimensional image data are designated, and the pilot image is displayed. Then, a linear ROI (region of interest) is placed on the displayed pilot image. Then, image data of a cross-section are edited from the three-dimensional image data, the cross-section passing through the linear ROI in a space of the three-dimensional image data. On the basis of the edited image data of the cross-section, a prediction image for scan is displayed.

  • Patent number: 5513638
Abstract: In an method of collecting image data in magnetic resonance imaging, a sequential order for collecting image data of the plurality of sliced planes including a most clinically important sliced plane is decided by a sequential order decision unit. Synchronizing information related to at least one sliced plane of the plurality of sliced planes is decided by a synchronizing information decision unit. At least two sliced planes includes the most clinically important sliced plane, and are synchronized with at least one different reference pulse for collecting the image data. The image data of the plurality of sliced planes are collected by an image data collection step at every repetition time by selectively exciting each of the plurality of sliced planes on the basis of the synchronizing information and the sequential order.

  • Patent number: 5500826
Abstract: A solid state peripheral storage device receives an LSN address from a computer system and provides a mapping to a PSN data. The PSN data addresses memory units which are made out of solid state floating gate storage cells. In addition, a microsequencer controls the operation of the translation of the mapping of the LSN to PSN. Through the use of the mapping of LSN to PSN, defective sectors in the memory units can be mapped out and fresh, unused, defective-free sectors can then be replaced, all automatically, without user intervention. Finally, the microsequencer has error recovery routines to further enhance the reliability of the peripheral device.

  • Patent number: 5491726
Abstract: A digital wireless communication system operates between a first unit and a second unit. The received digitally encoded signal is sampled to produce a first sampled digital signal. A first bank of match filters with each match filter having a different frequency range is used to pass the first sampled digital signal therethrough. The output of the first bank of match filters having the largest amplitude is selected along with the match filter which produced the largest amplitude output. The digitally encoded signal having this "coarse" frequency range is then passed through a second bank of match filters. Each of the match filters has a fine frequency different from one another. The output of the second bank of match filters is produced and the output having the largest amplitude is selected. In addition, the filter producing the largest amplitude from the second bank of match filters is also selected.

  • Patent number: 5479453
Abstract: A digital receiver for receiving an RF signal has a conventional RF to intermediate frequency (IF) converter. The IF signal, however, is amplified with a limit on its amplitude. In addition, a Receive Signal Strength Intensity (RSSI) signal is generated. The RSSI signal contains the envelope information of the modulated IF signal. The IF amplitude limited signal containing phase information, is then digitized and a complex baseband signal is produced. The complex baseband signal is then combined with the RSSI signal to restore the amplitude information of the modulated IF signal in the complex baseband signal. The restored complex baseband signal can be equalized with a conventional equalizer to remove intersymbol interference. A conventional symbol detector detects the symbol in this signal stream.
