  • Patent number: 4754567
Abstract: A double set trigger for a rifle is disclosed, consisting of a sear, a middle lever, a firing trigger, a set trigger, a catch for the set trigger, and a lever to sense the presence of the rifle bolt. The double set trigger has two springs, one for a light pull and one for a heavy pull. The force from the heavy pull spring is applied through the set trigger. The catch withholds the set trigger from the firing trigger for a light pull; the catch may be released by a second pull on the set trigger. The bolt sensing lever will release the set trigger if the bolt is withdrawn. A counterweight locates the center of gravity of the firing trigger concentric with the pivot point of the firing trigger.

  • Patent number: 4754555
Abstract: Apparatus for inspecting the coplanarity of surface mounted integrated circuit components including a housing for containing necessary electrical circuitry and indicators, a socket assembly for receiving one electronic circuit package at a time and for contacting each lead of the package that is within acceptable coplanarity limits, and means for indicating those leads that are out of predetermined limits. The device also includes a spring loaded plunger assembly for facilitating insertion of a packaged IC device into the inspection socket and for applying appropriate loading force to the top surface thereof.

  • Patent number: 4755874
Abstract: An optical emission microscopy system with a macro optic system having a high numerical aperture for obtaining global views of an integrated circuit Device Under Test (DUT). The DUT is subjected to illumination and stimulation conditions, and images are obtained to form a "global difference" image in which defects, wherever located in the chip, can be discerned by the system operator. The operator can select apparent "defect bright spots" to be further inspected, and zoom in with the higher magnification micro optics system to repeat the image formation steps. "Difference images" are processed to further eliminate noise spots using an improved two-stage filtering operation. The system may be operated under manual or automatic control, and may be interfaced to various data input, storage, and output devices as desired.

  • Patent number: 4746252
Abstract: A spindle of a machine tool is mounted for rotation about a longitudinal axis. The spindle comprises clamping means for clamping and releasing a tool. An energy accumulator is charged when the tool is not clamped and is at least partly discharged to tighten the clamping means when the tool is clamped. An actuating unit serves to charge the energy accumulator by means of an external force supplied via a connection. To enable employment of the spindle at very high speeds, the actuating unit and the connection are arranged in the rotating part of the spindle. The spindle rotates at at least 30,000 revolutions per minute and the connection is a releasable plug or screw connection.

  • Patent number: 4739325
Abstract: An MWD EM data/control telemetry link between down-hole instruments and ground surface instruments dynamically adapts to the underground electrical environment utilizing a down-hole microprocessor unit and a surface data processing unit (computer) each of which continuously monitors, probes and sweeps the frequency spectrum with EM signals to determine an optimum frequency for signal transmission between the respective units via either the drill string, the surrounding strata, or both, and then generates and digitally modulates a carrier signal at such optimum frequency with data/control signals.
