Abstract: In one aspect, the invention provides a device for facilitating the acquisition of media assets. In some embodiments, the device includes: a housing; a USB connector projecting outwardly from an end of the housing; a card reader housed in the housing; non-volatile memory housed in the housing and coupled to the USB connector and the card reader; and a barcode disposed on a major surface of the housing, said barcode encoding an identifier that is associated with customer information.
Abstract: Provided are processes of preparing glycolurils and cucurbiturils using the glycolurils by microwave irradiation. Therefore, condensation and cyclization reactions for preparation of industrially widely applied cucurbituril derivatives, oxidation reaction for preparation of hydroxycucurbiturils, and condensation and cyclization reactions between glycolurils and paraformaldehyde or a formaldehyde solution can be efficiently performed in a short time.

Abstract: An aseptic sampling system includes substantially sealed sampling lines connecting one or more sample container to a vessel containing the fluid to be sampled. A flow control system includes valves and/or clamps placed strategically along the sampling lines and filtered vent lines are provided at strategic locations relative to a reversible fluid pump in communication with the sampling lines. The clamps are selectively actuated, the vent lines are selectively opened or closed, and the pump is operated in a forward or reverse direction to permit a volume of sample fluid to be drawn from the vessel and into a sample container and to permit fluid to be purged from the sampling lines either into the sample container or back into the vessel. Thus, sampling and purging can be accomplished without opening the system to potentially contaminating agents and without wasting or having to properly dispose the fluid.
Abstract: The present invention provides a preparing method of microcapsule containing unsaturated fatty acid comprising the steps of (a) preparing a first coating material by mixing and gelatinating one or more gums selected from the group consisting of xanthan gum, guar gum, and locusbean gum, with poly glycerin esters of fatty acid in sterilized water, adding unsaturated fatty acid to the solution, and homogenizing the solution; (b) preparing a second coating material by mixing and gelatinating starch or modified starch, gelatin or casein, and poly glycerin esters of fatty acid in sterilized water, adding the first coating material prepared in (a) to the solution, and homogenizing the solution; and (c) spraying the second coating material prepared in (b) in cold sterilized water; a microcapsule prepared by the method; and articles containing the microcapsule. The present microcapsule has effects of preventing the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acid and inhibiting offensive smell.

Abstract: A tip assembly for a catheter includes a housing having a recess that receives an optical bench. The optical bench accommodates adjacent fibers, one of which is in optical communication with a first beam re-director. The first beam re-director is oriented to cause a beam incident thereon to travel in a direction away from the optical bench. Abstract: A method in a receiving node for sending an acknowledgement/not acknowledgement “ACK/NACK” feedback report of received data units over a radio link is provided. When the receiving node have received (301) data units in a number of subframes over a first radio link from a sending node, it creates (302) an ACK/NACK feedback report. The report is compressed such that it comprises one single ACK/NACK feedback relating to the data units in the number of received subframes, and the report comprises an indicator indicating said number of received subframes. The sending node then transmits (303) the created ACK/NACK feedback report to the sending node over a second radio link. The feedback report renders it feasible for the sending node to decide whether a retransmission of any subframe is required or not based on a comparison of the reported number of received subframes with the known transmitted number of subframes per frame, together with the compressed ACK/NACK feedback report.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus are provided for automated isolation of selected analytes, to which magnetically-responsive solid supports are bound, from other components of a sample. An apparatus for performing an automated magnetic separation procedure includes a mechanism for effecting linear movement of a magnet between operative and non-operative positions with respect to a receptacle device. A receptacle holding station within which a receptacle device may be temporarily stored prior to moving the receptacle to the apparatus for performing magnetic separation includes magnets for applying a magnetic field to the receptacle device held therein, thereby drawing at least a proton of the magnetically-responsive solid supports out of suspension before the receptacle device is moved to the magnetic separation station. An automated receptacle transport mechanism moves the receptacle devices between the apparatus for performing magnetic separation and the receptacle holding station.

Abstract: Hydrocarbon-containing organic matter is extracted from a hydrocarbon-containing material that is a viscous liquid, liquid or gaseous fossil fuel material. A turpentine liquid is contacted with a hydrocarbon-containing material in-situ in an underground formation containing the fossil fuel material to form an extraction mixture so as to extract hydrocarbon-containing organic matter into the turpentine liquid and form an extraction liquid. The extraction liquid is removed from the formation, the extraction liquid including the turpentine liquid containing the extracted hydrocarbon-containing organic matter. The extracted hydrocarbon-containing organic matter is separated from a residual material not extracted.

Abstract: The present invention provides for cost-efficient methods for on-line deposition of semi-conducting metallic layers. More specifically, the present invention provides on-line pyrolytic deposition methods for deposition of p-type, n-type and i-type semi-conducting metallic layers in the float glass production process. Furthermore, the present invention provides for on-line pyrolytic deposition methods for production of single-, double-, triple- and multi-junction p-(i-)n and n-(i-)p type semi-conducting metal layers. Such p-type, n-type and i-type semi-conducting metal layers are useful in the photovoltaic industry and attractive to manufacturers of photovoltaic modules as “value-added” products.
