Abstract: A fish hook with a generally J-shaped body has three sections, a shank section, a curved bend, and a tip section. At least one resilient U-shaped flexibles barb is pivotably and rotatably mounted on the tip. On hooking a fish, the flexible barb rotates downward and pivots inward to pass through a hole in the catch, and thereafter springs outward to restrain the hook from disengagement.
Abstract: A safety receptacle for a two-piece duplex is disclosed. A pin is removably attached to a conventional male electric plug so that the pin extends outward in the same direction as the male plug's blades. A female electrical receptacle having at least one pair of hot/neutral slots encased in a housing, and adapted to receive the male blades, also includes a sleeve adapted to receive the pin.A nonconductive, spring tensioned rack and pinion gear assembly is aligned to be workably connected to the pin. Each arm of a conductive pair of pivotal arms is connected at its one end to an electrical source and to the pinion. Each arm is aligned at its other end to make electrical contact with one of the pair of male blades so that when the pin is inserted into the sleeve, the pin engages and retracts the rack to a tensioned position, causing the pinion to rotate and pivot each of the arms into contact with the corresponding slot and thereby render the socket live.
Abstract: A device to assist a person with putting on stockings, or other hosiery, includes a pair of posts connected by a hinge. Each post is fitted with a hosiery inversion arm. A user places a sock, or the like hose, over both arms, the top inverted and the sock toe extending downward between the arms. The user then spreads the posts apart to stretch the sock open and pushes a foot into the open sock, the sock unfolding as it is mounted on the foot.
Abstract: A container with an integral washboard includes at least one spout. The washboard is formed by the corrugated interior of at least one wall and a spout is formed at the top of the wall. The spout has a mouth and two sides, the sides flexing inward toward that mouth during use to provide increased scrubbing power.
Abstract: An arrangement for controlling the movements of animals is disclosed. A pair of signal-broadcasting wire loops is used, arranged in a concentric fashion, to define the desired confinement area. As the animal approaches the inner wire loop, a receiver worn by the animal will pick up the broadcasted signal and give the animal a mild shock and/or emit an unpleasant noise. If the animal ignores these deterrents and continues to move out of the confinement area, its receiver will pick up the signal emitted by the outer wire, where this signal will trigger an alarm located at a base station (the owner's home), indicating to the owner that the animal has ignored the signals and is leaving the confinement area. The arrangement further includes circuits for automatically deactivating the shock and noise devices after the animal escapes confinement and radio communication circuits whereby the owner can communicate with voice to the animal to command it back to confinement, after which the system can be reactivated.

Abstract: A composition for building blocks is a mixture of cement, ceramic grog and ceramic aggregate beads. The ceramic grog and aggregate are formed as a mixture of clay and dried organic mulch. After firing, the resulting ceramic product is porous. When added to the cement, the porous ceramic grog and aggregate greatly enhance the insulation qualities of the resultant cement structure.
Abstract: A releasable locking device for preventing premature coupling of a truck tractor's air braking glad hand to a truck trailer's air braking glad hand is disclosed. The device includes a set of jaws adapted to interlock with each other and the non air-connecting end of a glad hand. A channel integral with the set of jaws houses a barrel lock to effect control of the interlocking of the set of jaws with the non air-connecting end of the glad hand so that, when the set of jaws is interlocked with each other and the non air-connecting end of a glad hand, an operator may not prematurely couple a truck tractor's air brakes to a truck trailer's air brakes.

Abstract: A portable clothes hanger rack is disclosed. A yoke has a hook at one end and a pair of pivotable arms mounted on the other end. The hook is used to suspend the device while the arms hold a plurality of hangers. The hangers are modified with a sphere replacing the conventional hanger hook. The arms have a removable end and the top, bottom and side wall form an enclosed elongated parallelpiped. The arm bottom wall has an elongated slot and the hangers extend down through the slot with the sphere retained inside the arm. The arms may be folded into a vertically parallel coextensive position for compact storage of the device in a suitcase.
Abstract: A weight adjustable base unit for a weight lifting device is provided and consists of a plurality of cylinder shaped weights, each being detachably inserted in holes of a pair of base plates which are secured on uppermost of adjustable weights of the weight lifting device so as to more precisely adjust the weight lifting device.
Abstract: A transposable dual mode mailbox signaling device for mounting on either side of a rural mailbox is disclosed. A housing attachable to either side of a mailbox proximate the mailbox door has a front face, back face, a proximal end, including a centered elongated aperture to receive a flagstaff flange, and an open distal end, an open top edge and an open bottom edge. A longitudinally symmetrical flagstaff is mounted within the housing for pivotal movement about its horizontal axis. The flagstaff has an opposing pair of horizontal flanges at the lower end as well as a downward projecting flange at the flagstaff's lower edge. Each flange is sized to fit through the proximal edge's aperture. A longitudinally symmetrical flag is attached to the flagstaff's other end. A reversible rod attachable to a mailbox door includes a detent to retain a corresponding horizontal flange when the flag is up.
Abstract: A body worn urinary collection system for a male incontinent is disclosed. A reusable, generally moistureproof and pliable penile sheath is shaped as an open-ended sack, and is sized to loosely overfit the male organ. The sack includes an oversized, first resilient, outer ferrule rimming the sack's open end. The cooperation of the ferrule and a strap on the sheath secures the sheath to the male organ with a snug and comfortable dam against backflow and leakage. The sheath may also include a urine outlet proximate the closed sack end to be connected to a urine storage bag via a flexible drain tube. The urine storage bag may be body mounted and includes an outlet orifice with plug means to release the stored urine at a desired time.

Abstract: A temperature probe is inserted in the stove pipe and connected to the alarm via an electrical conductor. The alarm unit is capable of triggering on either a "high" or a "low" temperature condition. The "high" condition represents the flashpoint of creosote, which is known as the cause of most fires in woodburning stoves. The "low" alarm is set to trigger at a temperature near the minimum required to maintain the fire so as to alert the owner that the stove is about to go out. In accordance with the present invention, it is possible to override this "low" temperature alarm when desired. The present alarm unit also contains a visual display of the current stove pipe temperature to allow the owner to adjust the fire conditions well before a dangerous situation arises.
Abstract: A remountable molding for ceiling and wall uses magnets to hold molding strips in position. A plurality of magnetic mounting bars are preferably attached at intervals to a wall or ceiling near the wall/ceiling intersection. Molding strips with flat-sided ceiling and wall returns include metallic bands attached to the returns. When the bands are placed in contact with the magnetic mounting bars, the molding strips are held in place. The strips are easily removed and quickly remounted when the walls are painted or the room redecorated.
Abstract: A baitless rodent trap is provided with a removable cartridge and disposable sleeve. A trap member with spring means, trigger, and striker means has a flat base, the base including, on the trigger end, means to receive a removable cartridge. The elongated cartridge includes toroidal collars on opposing ends. A sleeve is provided to stretch between the collars to form a tunnel. The cartridge is then attached to the trap member's base to form a T with the base. The cartridge sleeve is placed along a wall. A rodent enters the tunnel and contacts the concealed trigger which springs the trap. The sleeve or the entire cartridge and sleeve are disposed of with the rodent.
