  • Patent number: 4509541
Abstract: An antiseptic toothpick is disclosed. A case contains a hollow cylinder. The cylinder and case are threadably engaged to give controllable telescopic action. The hollow cylinder is capable of containing antiseptic liquid and has a wick at its top. A toothpick is fastened to the inside base end of the case and extends longitudinally into and through said hollow cylinder, its liquid and its wick. Through telescopic action, the hollow cylinder is retracted into the case, exposing the toothpick for use. When the telescoping action is reversed, the wick may be used to clean teeth and gums with the antiseptic liquid because the toothpick is retracted.

  • Patent number: 4508320
Abstract: A total fence system for wire mesh fences is disclosed. An angle iron post which may serve as a gate, terminal or corner post is utilized. The post includes staples, preferably stamped out lancings which accommodate a slide-in tension bar. The tension bar is inserted intermittently in the wire mesh lancings where it is held fast. A post cap, preferably with slots to accommodate the tension bar ends and which also includes apertures for a top rail, is also disclosed. A unique channeled slug connector is utilized to connect top rail and line post by sliding part of the slug into a slotted top rail and allowing the other part to drop into the hollow line post. Further embodiments adapt the fence system to industrial applications where, for example, barbed wire is an included feature.

  • Patent number: 4495959
Abstract: A coin counting device is disclosed. The device has a base sized to receive the open bottom of a coin sorter. The base's top has vertical compartments (open at their ends) aligned with similarly sized compartments in the coin sorter. Coin receiving tubes, open at one end and placed in the compartments, extend through the base's top into the sorter. Tubes are sized to receive coins of given denominations in amounts needed to fill standard coin wrappers for that denomination. The base also includes tube retainers to keep the tubes in their compartments and a locking bar and a U-shaped encasement to lock all tubes within the base. When the tube retainers and lock are removed, a tube drops through the base's bottom. An open end of a filled coin receiving tube is placed in a compatibly sized aid which is lined with a standard coin wrapping paper. Stacked coins are then emptied from their tube into the wrapper.

  • Patent number: 4455050
Abstract: A clot preventing invalid chair and attachments is disclosed in which a box-like single, open top foot enclosure is utilized to support both feet of a seated person. The enclosure attaches to the front and back chair legs in such a manner that it may be adjustable in both the horizontal and vertical planes and also pivot at the ankle to provide maximum comfort and adaptability. The box shoe structure prevents the patient's body from sliding forward and out of the chair, and also enables the patient's legs to be raised to prevent blood clots from forming, a condition prevalent in immobilized geriatric patients. One embodiment contemplates telescoping braces to allow retraction of the foot rest and a second embodiment combines both the telescoping brace with a pivoting brace to permit the foot enclosure to be retracted and stored under the chair seat.

  • Patent number: 4453528
Abstract: A collapsible arrow rest attached at the handle of a recurve, compound, or the like, archery bow is disclosed. Action of the arrow rest is determined by an elastic cord from the arrow rest to the bow string. An elevation adjusting device is attached to a bracket supporting an arrows rest arm so as to vary the amount of upward pivot of the arrow rest arm with the same amount of draw. Drawing the bow string causes the concave, notched receiving arm to pivot upward, forming an arrow rest. Release of the bow string collapses the receiving arm, allowing an unobstructed flight path for the arrow's shaft and fletching. The arrow rest has lateral and elevation adjustments for desired flight trajectory.

  • Patent number: 4451933
Abstract: A universal costume mask armature is disclosed in which a rigid, preferably lattice, infrastructure including skull-shaped cranium and face portion is utilized. The face portion is preferably generally flattened and includes a pair of eye ports. A nose plate between the eye ports forms a continuation of the face and serves to receive and support nose features of a mask mounted on the armature. The face portion also includes a maxilary plate located below the nose plate to receive and support upper lip features of a mask. Use of this armature will enable a very wide range and variety of masks to be interchanged because the construction of the face portion of the armature is designed to support unlimited combinations of nose, eyebrows, beak, etc. without regard to their weight or size.

  • Patent number: 4442824
Abstract: A top grill converter for a conventional outdoor electric or gas-fired grill is disclosed. The converter is a cartridge having side, front and back walls, a foraminous floor and a roof-forming undulated heat shield. Contained within the cartridge are preferentially regulated heating elements and heat transferring rocks. Means are provided for suspending the cartridge inside the lid of a conventional outdoor cooker and other means are shown for holding the cartridge level within the lid when the lid is raised and lowered. In use, food will be placed on a grill and the converter will be lowered over the food to cook it. Because the flame is above the food, grease and liquid secretions from the food will not catch on fire and "flare-ups" are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4430795
Abstract: A chain saw safety improvement is disclosed. Enclosed in a hollow guide bar is a link positioning device which moves the links on the chain into a cutting or safety position. This device is spring tensioned and normally in the safety position. The chain links themselves are pivotable and scythe-shaped, the tips acting as safety tails. When the link positioning device is in its normal safety position, it pushes the safety tails, moving the links into a noncutting position. When tension is manually released by the operator, the links may move into their cutting position.
