Abstract: A cooking device has a cooking chamber as well as a cooking chamber outlet for a fluid. An air trap is provided downstream of the cooking chamber outlet. A device outlet is arranged in turn downstream of the air trap. A water reservoir is located in the air trap. A connection pipe leads from the water reservoir in the air trap into the cooking chamber. Associated with the connection pipe is a transport means, which permits a controllable supply of fluid from the water reservoir in the air trap into the cooking chamber.

The device (10) includes a light source unit (16) for emitting light into a region (18) containing particles (20), with the light source being configured to emit light from a plurality of locations in a manner so that the emitted light follows a desired intensity distribution (22), the desired intensity distribution (22) being desired for the measurement of the at least one characteristic (12). In preferred embodiments the intensity distribution is Lambertian.

Abstract: A flow sensor comprises a measuring chamber, into which a medium may be introduced and then removed, the volume and/or flow speed of which is to be measured. Freely rotating measuring elements are mounted in the measuring chamber Furthermore, at least one sensor for the measurement of magnetic fields and/or changes in magnetic fields is provided and a circuit to which the output signals from the sensor(s) are supplied. The sensor(s) provide an output signal and supply the same to the circuit. The output signal varies periodically on each passage of a single tooth and a corresponding tooth gap on one of the measuring elements, between a minimum and a maximum value. Depending on the position of the tooth relative to the sensor(s) the output signal takes on a reproducible intermediate value. The circuit is embodied such as to convert the intermediate values into discrete values, representative of part volumes of the volumes pumped between two teeth.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for a golf swing training that assists a trainee or golfer in improving their golf swing. The apparatus of the present invention comprises a device designed to be supported between the forearms of the trainee or golfer during the golf swing. The dimensions of the device are selected so the device can be supported in relationship to the arms of trainee in the same configuration as the relationship of the arms during a natural and proper golf swing. By supporting the golf training apparatus between the forearms, the golf training apparatus induces the trainee or golfer to maintain the forearms, and importantly, the wrists, in a “quiet state” that produces a more effective golf swing.

Abstract: A molded plastic system for use in constructing footings or supports for structures, preferably for supporting a deck. The system includes a base that includes a lower peripheral flange that extends in a substantially horizontal plane in use with the peripheral flange having an upper facing surface and a lower facing surface and an upright post that is integral with the base, extends upwardly from the upper facing surface of the base and is hollow to define a top opening of the base. The system also includes a column that includes top and bottom ends. The bottom end of the column is positioned in the base opening and extends in a generally vertical direction from the base. A cap includes a bottom end having an opening into which the top end of the column is placed for mounting the cap from the column. The cap further includes opposed side tangs that define therebetween an open channel for receiving a support structure.

Abstract: An elongate container (7) for the transport of bulk powders is provided along its base with a longitudinally sloping membrane support. A gas permeable membrane (11) is mounted on the support and the support is itself unsupported relative to the container between its longitudinal and transverse ends. A method of conveying bulk powder using such a container is also described.

Abstract: A lumenaire including a light fixture housing for supporting a lamp and a reflector disposed over the lamp. A diffuser is arranged under the lamp and has a lower arch-shaped portion for supporting a liner with a predetermined pattern for both reflecting and transmitting incident light from the lamp. The diffuser also includes upper end portions comprised of a material for refracting incident light from the lamp.

Abstract: A catheter includes a urinary tube having proximal and distal ends intercoupling a passage for receiving the discharge of urine from the urethera with the urinary tube distal end for coupling to a collection means. A resilient and deformable flared flange member is formed integral with the proximal end of the urinary tube, has a centered port contiguous with the urinary tube passage, has a peripheral edge that at least in part defines an annular proximal facing contact surface and an opposed annular distal facing contact surface. The peripheral edge covers an area that is greater than the cross-sectional area of the urinary tube. An adhesive component is disposed on the annular proximal facing contact surface.

Abstract: A gutter shield is disclosed that is for inhibiting debris from entering a gutter while allowing water flow to the gutter. The gutter shield includes a plate member having a top edge for engagement with a roof shingle and having a lower edge for engagement with an outer side of the gutter. The plate member has a series of holes therethrough that enable water to flow through the holes to the gutter therebelow. The gutter shield also includes a cover on the plate member that has open and closed positions, the cover being in the open position to enable access to the gutter for cleaning purposes and being in the closed position to enable water to flow over the cover and a hinge to enable the cover to be moved between open and closed positions thereof.
