    Abstract: A battery terminal mounted on a battery post has a cylindrically shaped post fitting, clamping members, a cable connector, and a tightening tool. The cable connector is formed by bending a vertically oriented metal band. Post fitting and clamping members are formed from a vertically oriented metal band, such that the clamping members are connected to the free ends of the post fitting. The clamping members 18A, 18B are further bent to provide sliding surfaces matching the tapers of the tightening tool. By tightening a bolt down from above, the clamping members are moved horizontally together, and the free ends of the post fitting are thus closed to clamp the battery post.

    Abstract: A power control unit protection apparatus is provided in association with a power control unit for controlling high or low power supply selectively to a loud speaker. The power control unit protection apparatus has an average current detector for detecting an average current supplied to a transformer, a temperature detector detecting the temperature of the transformer, and a timer. When the average current exceeds a predetermined level, and when the temperature rises above a predetermined temperature, timer starts to count a predetermined time. After the count, a cut off signal is produced to cut off the use of the high power supply from the power control unit. Thus, the power control unit protection apparatus prevents breakdown due to overheating of the power control unit including the power supply transformer by limiting the power supplied to the speaker.

The convexed toric surface has a radius of curvature which is determined independently of a radius of curvature in the main scanning direction.

A mechanism is disclosed for routing information between the first link and the second link, so that information being transported over the first link can also be transported over the second link. An adding mechanism is also disclosed for routing supplemental overhead information to at least one added overhead channel within the second link, wherein the added overhead channel occupies a standard payload portion of the second link. An overhead information bit is disclosed, which transmits information within a (k)th bit of an (l)th channel of each frame of the second link. An information bit signal is formed with at least five consecutive of the (k)th bits.

    Abstract: The laser beam emitted by a laser light source is first brought to an image in an auxiliary scanning plane, and reflected by a slit mirror provided in a prism block. The arrangement is such that this laser light is incident on the scanning deflector along the optic axis of the scanning lens, and a screen is provided for obstructing ghosting in the vicinity of the scanning surface. Further, either the side of the prism block on which the light is incident or the side from which it emerges is curved, or both are curved, or one side of the prism block is treated to prevent reflection. Further, a screen is provided between the laser light source and the slit mirror so as to obstruct that part of the light incident on the mirror which is reflected by the mirror after being reflected by the scanning deflector.

The mounting member is rotated about the axis of the mirror surface to change an optical axis of the same to compensate for parallax.
