Abstract: What is disclosed is a Christmas tree ornament in the form of a folder of heavy paper, cardboard, or other sheet material, provided with slots adapted for receiving a photograph, a window opposite the location of the photograph, a locking tab and corresponding slot for locking the folder in its closed configuration, and a pair of openings aligned when the folder is in its closed configuration which are located for receiving one end of a conventional Christmas tree ornament hanger.
Abstract: A bifocal contact lens which contains two optical powers and a structure which serves as a switch to determine which power is operative as the wearer looks alternatively at objects located at various distances. The lens switch is designed so as to be triggered by the upper lid as it covers and uncovers various portions of the contact lens when the lens wearer is looking alternatively at objects located at various distances.
Abstract: A floatation scrubber for cleaning boat bottoms while in the water having a cylindrical tubular head floatable in the water surrounded by a removable sleeve of scrubbing material and operated by an elongated tubular handle providing a reinforced substantially right angle bend near one end of the handle, the other end of the handle having telescoping sections for adjusting overall length.
Abstract: An automatic operating system for swinging doors which is controlled by the user by means of a miniature, hand-held radio transmitter having a single operating pushbutton.Depression of the pushbutton results, sequentially, in the retraction of the deadbolt, the retraction of the main latch, and the opening of the door. The door then remains open until the pushbutton is again depressed, whereupon the main latch is extended, the door is swung to its closed position, the deadbolt is extended into its associated recess in the doorjamb, and the air pressure in the automatic door operating system is bled to atmospheric level, resetting the system to its normal or quiescent state.
Abstract: A containment apparatus for confining asbestos fibers and the like floating in the air adjacent to a ceiling work area as a consequence of removing or repairing asbestos containing ceiling material. A substantially fiber-tight bag of flexible material has an open top adapted for positioning in close proximity to a friable ceiling substrate, or for fitting tightly against a stable ceiling substrate, in surrounding relation to the ceiling area to be worked upon and is supported in such position by an apparatus which in turn rests on the floor beneath the ceiling. One or more gloves of flexible material are sealed to openings in the bag, and each glove is adapted for providing protected access to the interior of the bag for the hand and arm of a user. At least a major portion of the bag is substantially transparent so that a user having one or both hands inserted in the gloves can view the area of the ceiling being worked upon from outside the bag.
Abstract: Apparatus for lowering the seat or seat and lid of a flush toilet in response to the flushing of the toilet, including an impulse converter which is connected to a discharge pipe or port of the float valve of the toilet and serves to convert the water impulses resulting from the flushing of the toilet to air impulses for inflating a bladder which is positioned to impel the seat or seat and lid of the toilet out of the stable upright position when inflated. In particular versions of the disclosed apparatus the bladder is mounted between the front wall of the flush tank and the raised lid of the toilet and the air impulses are conveyed from the impulse converter located in the flush tank to the bladder by means of a tube which passes between the lid of the flush tank and the upper edge of the front wall of the flush tank.

Abstract: A release apparatus for selectively connecting and disconnecting a sprocket drive wheel from a driven shaft by selectively thrusting a pair of sprag pins through registering openings in the sprocket wheel and into peripheral recesses in a collar secured to the drive shaft. The portion of the device attached to the sprag pins is also attached to the drive shaft for joint rotation.
Abstract: A device for releasably measuring the free end of a belt to the body of the belt in the form of a unitary resilient spring clip adapted for fitting over the free end portion of the belt and a desired adjacent portion of the body of the belt and forcing such portions tightly together for releasably holding the free end portion of the belt from dangling, a flexible chain being secured at one end to the clip and having a second end engageable through a hole in the body of the belt for preventing loss of the clip if it falls off the belt, the chain having a small bar on its free end insertable endwise through the hole in the belt.
Abstract: Apparatus for randomly selecting numbers from a predetermined set consisting of two elongated dies, each in the form of a heptagonal right prism. Each face of the first elongated die is colored with a color different from the color of all of the other faces. Each elongated face of the second die is subdivided into seven segments, each segment being colored with the color of one of the faces of the first die. Each segment of the second die bears a representation of one of the decimal numbers from 1 to 49, inclusive.
Abstract: A glove is equipped with a mouthpiece containing an air passage. The mouthpiece allows the wearer to puff air into the space between the glove and the skin of the hand. The puffed up glove is much easier to doff and don than a conventional glove. A puff-off wetsuit glove for use in underwater activities is described in detail.

Abstract: A counter for displaying chilled foods such as raw fish on a bed of ice contained in a waterproof tray portion having a drain conduit and heating means for melting the ice in the tray and draining the melted ice with scraps of fish and other debris from the tray through a garbage disposal unit for discharge into a waste water drain, control means being provided for automaticalaly turning on and off the garbage disposal unit and the heating means at preselected times for periods of predetermined duration, the counter further being provided with a source of water under pressure for further washing of the fish scraps and debris from the tray, and wherein an ice making machine is mounted above the tray for replenishing the bed of ice as required, and a refrigerated storage compartment is provided in a base enclosure supporting the tray for containing the fish or other chilled foods while the scraps of fish and debris and used ice are being drained from the tray portion and the bed of ice is being replenished.
Abstract: A door opening limiting bar having an elongated rigid member mountable between a first bracket attached to the inner face of a hinged door and a second bracket attached to a wall confronting the inner face of the door at approximately the same height as the first bracket and with the bar extending diagonally between the brackets. The bar is axially expandable and contractable for adjusting the position of the door relative to its frame.
Abstract: What is disclosed is an expeller for expelling air from a liner-type nursing bottle which at the same time provides unified storage for liners, a nipple, and premeasured portions of powdered infant formula. The apparatus of the invention further comprises a hand stop which can be engaged with the nursing bottle shell to prevent the mother's hand from slipping along the surface of the shell when the shell is drawn downwardly over the three-part apparatus of the invention to expel air from within the liner.
Abstract: A locking apparatus for selectively securing a lid to a box having one or more posts depending from the lid and engageable in mating vertical bores formed in the walls of the box, elongated locking members mounted for both axial and rotational adjustment in bores formed the walls of the box in perpendicularly partially intersecting relation to the vertical bores, each post having a notch registerable with the associatd locking member and each of the locking members having a notch registerable with associated the post when placed in a predetermined rotational and axial position so that the post is prevented by the locking member from being withdrawn from its vertical bore except when the notch in the locking member is in axial and rotational registration with the post, the rotational and axial positioning of the locking member being accomplished by manually engageable knobs projecting from the box, and each locking member having spring detents for holding same in the desired rotational and axial position.

Abstract: An amusement device for forcibly propelling a coherent water jet from a body of water such as a swimming pool utilizing a housing having a generally tapering open passage from one end to the other, with the larger end of the passage being open and essentially unobstructed for admitting water freely into the passage when the larger end is at least partially submerged in the body of water, the smaller end of the passage being formed to provide an open but constricted nozzle whereby quantities of water forced into the passage through the larger end are accelerated and ejected forcibly through the nozzle to form a substantially coherent water jet capable of traversing significant distance before breaking up, control and actuation of the device being provided for by handles on opposite sides of the housing adjacent to the larger open end. A modified form of the invention mounts a pair of conical housings in side-by-side relation for joint action.
