Abstract: Methods, medium, and machines associated with image processing performance are disclosed. Image data may be copied from input memory to main memory before performing CPU intensive operations, and efficiently copied from memory thereafter. CPU intensive operations may include decryption, decompression, image enhancement, or reformatting. Real time compression may be achieved by sub-sampling each frame. A separate plane compression aspect may provide for distinguishing between regions of an image, separating and/or masking the original image into multiple image planes, and compressing each separated image plane with a compression method that is optimal for its characteristics.
Abstract: We propose methods for generating a halftone image, in which each pixel takes one of two tone values. The generated image contains hidden data, which is present at data storage pixels chosen using a pseudo-random number generator. In a first case, the data is hidden within an existing halftone image by reversing the tone value at certain of the data storage pixels, and at pixels neighbouring the data storage pixels. In a second case, the halftone image is generated from a grey-scale image, and data is hidden during this conversion process.

Abstract: Techniques generally describe articles of enclosing manufacture and methods related to containers including a magnesium sacrificial anode for corrosion protection. Example articles of enclosing manufacture may include a liner or a rod that is configured as a sacrificial anode to protect a metallic side or end wall of the enclosing manufacture from corrosion. Other embodiments may be disclosed and claimed.
Abstract: The invention sends a hot link to a device. The device may be on a wireless network, a wired network, or directly coupled to the device sending the hot link. The hot link contains an associated action that is performed by the device receiving the hot link. The associated action may be performed when a user interface is activated or automatically when the hot link is received by the device. The action (1105) can be a broadcast action (1110), Internet action (1120), call action (1150), download action (1130), or upload action (1140). The broadcast action instructs the device to tune to a particular broadcast in response to the selection of the user interface. The Internet action instructs the device to access an Internet site in response to the selection of the user interface. The call action instructs the device to call a telephone number in response to the selection of user interface.

Abstract: A treatment pattern (such as a focused spot, an image, or an interferogram) projected on a treatment target may lose precision if the treatment beam must pass through a birefringent layer before reaching the target. In the general case, the birefringent layer splits the treatment beam into ordinary and extraordinary components, which propagate in different directions and form two patterns, displaced from each other, at the target layer. The degree of birefringence and the orientation of the optic axis, which influence the amount of displacement, often vary between workpieces or between loci on the same workpiece. This invention measures the orientation of the optic axis and uses the data to adjust the treatment beam incidence direction, the treatment beam polarization, or both to superpose the ordinary and extraordinary components into a single treatment pattern at the target, preventing the birefringent layer from causing the pattern to be blurred or doubled.
Abstract: A Radio Frequency based security system for providing security for wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) that allows the creation and maintenance of arbitrarily shaped secure wireless access areas with boundaries around said wireless Local Area Network and prevents access to the said wireless LAN from outside the perimeter of the secure area. The system includes a plurality of perimeter Radio Frequency Sentry Devices (RFSDs) that are employed to establish the boundaries of said secure area around said wireless LAN. The wireless LAN being secured may be an industry standard IEEE 802.11a, 801.11b or 802.11g based wireless LAN or any other wireless LAN that uses packet based communication protocols. The said RFSDs may be stand-alone devices or they may be connected to a wired or wireless Local Area Network.
Abstract: Embodiments of a multi-radio wireless communication device having two or more radio modules are generally described herein. In some embodiments, an initiating link manager may generate and transmit messages to a responding link manager. The messages may include a desired slot offset value and a desired point in time to perform slot adjustment. The responding link manager may return with a message indicating acceptance or nonacceptance of the desired slot offset value. If the responding link manager accepts the desired slot offset value, the message may also include whether the slot adjustment may be implemented at the desired point in time or incrementally. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract: A grinding device of vertical grinder, comprising a driving device (1); a vertical grinding barrel (2) which is driven by the driving device; a grinding roller (3); and a pressure applying device (4) acting on the grinding roller (3); a running-in surface is composed of the roller surface of the grinding roller and the grinding surface (6) of the inner lining of the vertical grinding barrel, and the angular separation between the grinding surface (6) of the inner lining of the vertical grinding barrel and the vertical line is 40 degrees to ?5 degrees. The device is also provided with a material-shaving device (9).
Abstract: A combinational transverse strut for a two-in-one arc-shaped or linear advertisement display frame, comprising a base body and a bendable overlay plate. Support members are provided at both ends of base body and overlay plate, respectively, each comprising a support seat, a support cap, a crankpin, and a magnetic steel. The crankpin is operatively connected between, and the magnetic steel is fixed between, the support seat and the support cap. The support member is connected to the base body by a straight pin shaft, and connected to the overlay plate by the crankpin. The two ends of the overlay plate are set up via support members to form an arc shape, so as to achieve applications as a linear member and as an arc-shaped member. The combinational transverse struts are attracted to each other by the magnetism of the support members.
Abstract: A vehicle for separating a mixed debris stream is disclosed. The vehicle may include an elongate vehicle frame; a separating structure mounted on the vehicle frame and configured to contact the mixed debris stream with a fluid stream to separate the mixed debris stream into at least a first debris stream and a second debris stream; a first conveyor; a second conveyor; and a fluid collection structure configured to receive fluid from at least one of the separating structure, the first conveyor, and the second conveyor, the fluid collection structure including an upper tank, a lower tank, and one or more conduits fluidly connecting the upper and lower tanks, wherein the one or more conduits are free from a valve configured to regulate flow from the upper tank toward the lower tank.
Abstract: A lens for a flashlight or other lighting unit provides for focusing light from a source, such as an LED, to provide a light beam adjustable between a spot beam and a wide beam. The lens includes a lens body with a front face, a rear LED-receiving well, and a side surface extending between the front face and the rear well. The front face includes a central surface surrounded by an annular concave surface. The rear well includes a space for the LED to be adjusted in position. The rear well space is defined by a concavely-curved sidewall and a concavely-curved base. The concave curvature of the sidewall and base may be Bezier curves.
