  • Patent number: 4512045
Abstract: Structural assembly, more particularly for a shower partition, comprising a door support in the form of a profiled rail having, in an outer face thereof, a first channel, of which one side flange forms a groove, and a facing panel mounted in this first channel. The facing panel is held in the first channel by a connecting element fitting in the groove. Existing arrangements of this type are relatively wide, of correspondingly large structural volume, and of high material costs. In order to obtain a structurally simple and inexpensive connection between the facing panel and the profiled rail, it is proposed that the panel be provided with a longitudinal second channel which opens towards the groove of the first channel. The connecting element engages partly in the second channel and partly in the groove.

  • Patent number: 4513171
Abstract: An aerial cable terminal has a one piece molded plastic housing with a dividing wall which divides the interior of the housing into front and back compartments. Terminals are mounted in the dividing wall, for example in hollow bosses extending into the front compartment. The conductors of a stub cable extend through the back compartment and are connected to the rear ends of the terminals. Drop wires enter at the bottom into the front compartment and are connected to the front ends of the terminals. A hinged cover closes the front compartment. Potting compound fills the back compartment. Two terminals can be assembled back-to-back, with conductors from one stub cable connected to both sets of terminals. Support hangers are provided on the top of the housing, one set of hangers for a single housing and another set which combines with hangers on the other housing to form combined hangers. Pivotal drop-wire support rings are provided at each end.

  • Patent number: 4511766
Abstract: A key telephone system having a plurality of station sets for connection to first or second telephone lines. The system includes a common control line for transmitting and receiving control signals at each of the station sets. In response to such a control signal, the handsets of at least two of the station sets are connected to the common control line to establish an intercom connection between them. Each of the station sets also includes a transistor load network having a load impedance which is substantially equal to that of the handset. Each network is normally connected across the control line except when the associated handset is connected to that line so that the overall load on it remains substantially constant. This eliminates transients which may cause received errors in the control signals.

  • Patent number: 4510822
Abstract: A continuously variable V-belt transmission comprises a hydrodynamic transmission unit including a lock-up means. A switch valve is provided which is responsive to fluid pressure in a cylinder chamber of a drive pulley, which fluid pressure being indicative of the reduction ratio of a continuously variable V-belt transmission unit. The lock-up means is engaged in response to the state of the switch valve to lock the hydrodynamic transmission unit when the reduction ratio is small. The switch valve may be responsive to stator reaction of a stator of the hydrodynamic transmission unit so that the lock-up means is released as long as the hydrodynamic transmission unit multiply torque.

  • Patent number: 4509962
Abstract: An airflow particle separator for a gas turbine engine provided for removing foreign particles and moisture from the air flow. The separator comprises an inner wall and an outer wall defining a passageway therebetween, with the inner wall including an inlet portion diverging in a downstream direction away from the separator axis while converging towards the outer wall to form a throat to accelerate incoming air to a higher velocity in a substantially axial direction. The inner wall then converges towards the separator axis and diverges from said outer wall with a splitter ring disposed between the inner and outer walls for splitting said passageway into inner and outer passages, with the outer passage adapted to bypass moisture and foreign particles. The leading edge of the splitter ring is located downstream and inward of said throat.

  • Patent number: 4509481
Abstract: An internal to be at engine is provided with an engine cooling system by which the amount of cooling water introduced to a radiator is changed in accordance with engine load, so that the temperature of the cooling water is controlled to be at lower levels during a high engine load mode operation than during a low engine load mode operation. Additionally, an ignition timing control system of the engine is arranged to retard the ignition timing for a time period immediately after engine operation is shifted to the high engine load mode, thereby effectively preventing engine knock from arising when the engine operation is shifted to the high engine load mode.
