  • Patent number: 6899934
Abstract: A new and improved bulletin board comprises a rigid support or backing member, and a tablet comprising a stacked array of adhesive-coated sheets, mounted upon the rigid support or backing member, wherein each one of the adhesive-coated sheets is adapted to have various different objects, such as, for example, notices, memos, notes, bills, pens, pencils, coupons, or the like, adhered thereon. By forming the bulletin board so as to comprise the plurality of adhesive-coated sheets, an exposed adhesive-coated sheet, whose tack level has degraded with time, may simply be removed from the tablet or stacked array of adhesive-coated sheets so as to expose a new or fresh adhesive-coated sheet which can now be used to again securely adhere objects upon the bulletin board.

  • Patent number: 6884012
Abstract: A toggle bolt fastener assembly comprises a tubular toggle housing body within which a coaxially disposed nut member is guidably moved in a translational manner. The nut member includes lug structure for preventing relative rotation or pivotal movement of the nut member with respect to the toggle housing body, and a pair of toggle wing members are pivotally mounted upon the nut member between radially contracted and radially expanded positions. A pair of compression sleeve members are also provided upon the toggle housing body for forcing the toggle wing members to their radially contracted positions, or for permitting the toggle wing members to move to their radially expanded positions depending upon the disposition of the nut member within the toggle housing body.

  • Patent number: 6860243
Abstract: A combustion chamber system, for use within a combustion-powered fastener-driving tool, comprises a dual combustion chamber system comprising a pre-combustion chamber and a final combustion chamber. The pre-combustion chamber is characterized by a high aspect ratio and has different obstacles fixedly incorporated therein for selectively retarding and enhancing the rate of burn and the rate of speed of the flame front propagating through the pre-combustion chamber. In addition, an obstacle, having a predetermined solid geometrical configuration is disposed within the final combustion chamber at a position immediately disposed downstream of a port fluidically interconnecting the pre-combustion chamber to the final combustion chamber so as to cause the flame front to diverge and split into multiple components which flow radially outwardly throughout the final combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 6809330
Abstract: A new and improved line scan camera achieves the proper framing of the image field of view by using a first test card to calibrate the true bottom and leading edge portions of the test card which simulate the true bottom and leading portions of an article being scanned or photographed. Still further, the architecture of the electronic chip incorporated within the charge coupled device (CCD) of the camera effectively divides the linear array of pixels into a plurality of channels, and amplifier gain and black offset adjustments are made with respect to exposure levels, characteristic of the pixels disposed at the channel boundaries, under different degrees of input whiteness signals applied to a test card of a predetermined color shade, so as to achieve channel-to-channel seam matching.

  • Patent number: 6786378
Abstract: An auxiliary elastomeric sealing adaptor is disclosed which effectively provides a high degree of sealing, and prevents fuel leakage, between the metering valve stem and the tool stem components of a fuel-cell powered fastener-driving tool despite bending, tilting, or pivotal movements of the metering valve stem attendant a fastener-firing operation. In addition, the incorporation of the elastomeric adaptor between the stem components reduces the need for high tolerance manufacturing techniques and also enhances the service lives of the stem components. The sealing adaptor is mounted upon the free or distal end portion of the metering valve stem and is seated within a counterbored region of the fastener-driving tool stem.

The inflatable air bags have substantially right triangular configurations when disposed in their inflated states such that hypotenuse portions of the inflatable air bags are inclined downwardly with respect to the bottom surface portion of the bulk material cargo container liner. When the inflatable air bags are inflated, the bulk material cargo load can be discharged from the bulk material cargo container liner without the need for tilting the bulk material cargo container and the liner contained therein. In addition, the bulk material cargo container, can be used as a silo or storage facility wherein the air bags can be inflated to predetermined degrees so as to cause predetermined portions of the bulk cargo load to be discharged as desired.

  • Patent number: 6709193
Abstract: Apparatus and method for applying temporary raised pavement markers (TRPM) to roadway surfaces comprises primary and auxiliary conveyors wherein an upstream end portion of the primary conveyor is able to extend, for example, over the rear bed portion of a roadwork truck so as to permit an operator, stationed upon the bed portion of the truck, to deposit pavement markers upon the primary conveyor. In accordance with a first embodiment of the invention, a slide mechanism is disposed adjacent to a downstream end portion of the primary conveyor and adjacent to an upstream end portion of the auxiliary conveyor for transferring pavement markers from the primary conveyor to the auxiliary conveyor when the absence of a pavement marker upon the auxiliary conveyor is detected. When pavement markers are present upon both conveyors, the pavement markers are conducted to applicator mechanisms for application to the roadway surface.

  • Patent number: 6702533
Abstract: A safety sheet cargo tie-down system comprises a substantially rectangular safety sheet, and four securing straps which are fixedly secured to corner regions of the substantially rectangular safety sheet upon the forwardly disposed surface thereof. The securing straps are effectively brought around such corner regions to the rearwardly disposed surface so as to form a pair of securing straps arranged within a criss-crossed X-shaped array or arrangement. Each pair of securing straps has a slip-type fastener fixedly secured upon one free end portion of one of the securing straps, and the free end portion of the other one of the securing straps is passed through such fastener. In this manner, as each pair of securing straps is tightened, the safety sheet is properly secured with respect to cargo load barrels or drums.
