  • Patent number: 7254555
Abstract: A computerized system that will allow healthcare providers to access the commercial paper market by “selling” their patient claims to asset backed commercial paper conduits. The system generates the statistical information on the historic collection experience of the provider's claims required by both the rating agencies and the sponsors of the conduits. This statistical information has two pieces: the net collectible value matrix showing the percentage of the claim actually paid by individual payers; and a collection histogram showing the timing of the payers payments from the date of initial billing. The system also generates the accounting detail necessary for controlling and auditing the provider's participation in the commercial paper conduit program. The system tracks “periodic pools” of claims so as to be able to reconcile advances, collections, interest expense, third party fees and cash settlements between conduits and providers.

  • Patent number: 7251282
Abstract: An OFDM packet is initially detected by auto-correlating short training symbols to generate an initial packet detection signal. The initial packet detection signal may be used to initiate a coarse timing synchronization process, which may use a short symbol matched filter. A coarse timing signal may be generated from at least some of the short training symbols by correlating sampled short training symbols with short filter matched coefficients. The coarse-timing signal may be used to initiate the operation of a fine timing synchronization process, which may use a long symbol matched filter. A fine timing signal may be generated from at least some of the long training symbols by correlating sampled long training symbols with long filter-matched coefficients. The fine timing signal may be used to initiate channel estimation by performing a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) operation on the long training symbols.

  • Patent number: 7251711
Abstract: Power consumption by a memory device is optimized by maintaining data input buffers in an off state until a command sequence containing a write command is received by the memory. A command sequence is provided to the memory device where the command sequence was constructed by generating a command sequence of n cycles and providing valid data in each cycle in which a write command is generated after a mth cycle of the command sequence, where m is less than n. The data input buffers are returned to an off state upon completion of a program or erase operation defined in the received command sequence.

  • Patent number: 7251723
Abstract: A multiprocessor computer system implements fault resilient booting by using appliance server management. While previous systems have utilized fault resilient booting, it has required the use of a baseboard management controller chip. The present invention avoids the need for this chip by utilizing the appliance server management architecture. The testing of the processors and the determination of the bootstrap processor is controlled by the system I/O device utilizing a timer and a latch.

  • Patent number: 7251187
Abstract: A memory system including a non-volatile flash memory and a method for simultaneously selecting a plurality of memory blocks are disclosed. The memory system is organized into multiple main blocks each having multiple smaller blocks, emulating a disk drive. Control lines activate a number of modes. In a first mode, high-order address lines select only one block, while in a second mode, user-specified multiple blocks are selected. Blocks are selected by loading registers with selection bits or by using some of the address lines directly as selection bits. Each bit specifies one of the blocks, and each bit is independent of the others. The memory system also includes a predecoder and a controller which controls the predecoder and the registers so as to select at least two blocks of memory cells. In a third mode, all of the blocks are selected, and in a fourth mode, all blocks are deselected. Selecting multiple blocks allows simultaneous erasing, writing, and reading of multiple bytes stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 7251290
Abstract: A bank of complex gain elements is used to provide a step-wise approximation of an arbitrary complex-gain predistortion function for a nonlinear transmitter. The bank of gain elements is in an adaptive loop realizing adaptive control. The adaptive loop is closed between an Input of the gain bank and an output of the transmitter through a linear receiver at an adaptive controller composed of a bank of proportional-integral (PI) controllers. The real and imaginary parts of each predistortion gain element are controlled by a corresponding adaptive PI controller. The signals processed by the adaptive controller are represented in orthogonal coordinates in terms of real and imaginary number pairs of complex numbers. The adaptive controller achieves unconditionally stable operation independently from the arbitrary phase rotation in the input signal or the adaptive loop.
