Abstract: Disclosed is a shutter system for selectively blocking the path of light of a high intensity discharge lamp. The shutter system comprises a high intensity discharge lamp, a high intensity discharge light housing into which the lamp is secured and a shutter and light absorption system secured to the light housing comprising a light absorbing shutter screen, a screen moving system for moving the screen in front of the lamp to block selectively the path of light and for withdrawing the screen from the path of light and a support system for the screen moving system, wherein said screen when retracted will not significantly interfere with the path of light of the system and when fully extended will substantially block the path of light of the high intensity discharge lamp.
Abstract: A training device for combat vehicles which can hold a replacement weapon. This training device is comprised of an insertion portion which inserts within the barrel support of the combat vehicle and has secured thereto a holding device for holding a replacement weapon. This training device permits the firing of the replacement weapon with similar firing characteristics to the originally mounted gun. The use of this replacement unit can provide realistic training using less expensive ammunition than that necessary for the original weapon of the combat vehicle.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the ecological usage of acid effluents. Also disclosed is a sorption agent which is characterized in that an acid effluent, created from the production of fullers earth which contains as main ingredients Fe.sup.2+/3+ -, Al.sup.3+ -, Ca.sup.2+ - and Mg.sup.2+ cations and inorganic anions, is reacted with an alkali silicate. The resultant precipitate is separated in an aqueous phase and, when necessary, purified and dried. The sorption agent can be used for the bleaching of oils or for the removal of soaps, phospholipids and heavy metals from oils, specifically edible oils.
