Abstract: An over-current and over-voltage protection assembly apparatus including an over-current protection (OCP) device and an over-voltage protection (OVP) device is provided. One end of the OCP device is electrically connected to a first connection point, and the other end is electrically connected to a second connection point. One end of the OVP device is electrically connected to a third connection point, and the other end is electrically connected to the second connection point. The second connection point is a common point. The OCP device and the OVP device are modularized and integrated to an assembly. The first, second, and third connection points are connected to an external circuit to be protected, such that the OCP device is connected in series to the circuit to be protected, and the OVP device is connected in parallel to the circuit to be protected.

Abstract: The method of adding to gasoline which has been stored in a container, of relatively small size for a substantial period of time to cause substantial loss of the more volatile gasoline components, an additive composition which comprises a flammable organic liquid having a Reid vapor pressure of 2 to 18 psig, to improve starting capacity of a motor fueled by said gasoline.
Abstract: The present invention is a tool including a spatial database and a data warehouse used to track portfolio sites that are affected by weather events, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, hail, tornados, or manmade events. A spatial database provides rich spatial geometry features using earth longitude and latitude as a 2-D reference system in spatial system. A insurer portfolio site, which is defined by longitude and latitude data, includes portions that are represented as a point. A weather event is represented as polygon in the spatial database. Based on user configured threshold values, it may be determined when a point falls inside, or on a boundary, of a polygon to identify a site that is affected by that weather event and corresponding reports may be generated, including maps identifying the affected sites and total insured value calculations for the affected sites, in order to gauge risk.

Abstract: A system and method for safe and effective backup and restore of parallel server databases stored in data storage systems. Parallel server databases allow multiple nodes in MPP (Massively Parallel Processor) or SMP (Symmetric Multi-Processor) systems to simultaneously access a database. Each node is running an instance (thread) which provides access to the database. The present invention allows for online or offline backup to be performed from any node in the system, with proper access to all control files and logs, both archived and online, whether the files are stored in raw partitions in the data storage system, or local on certain nodes. Two different types of external restore supported: complete external restore and partial external restore. In a complete external restore, all spaces will be restored to the most recent checkpoint that was generated while creating an external backup. If users lose only a portion of the data (which is more typically the case), a partial external restore may be performed.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device or connecting multi-conducting plugs that can be inserted into said device in respectively opposite directions. The device of the invention includes two sockets (1, 2) for receiving the plugs, an internal multi-conducting link (3) connecting the sockets, and a housing (4a, 4b) for maintaining the sockets in opposite directions, the internal link being in the form of a ply folded into a bayonet and having on both sides of an intermediate portion (33) two end portions (31, 32) physically connected to the respective inner faces (12, 22) of the sockets (1, 2).
Abstract: Provided is an electric double-layer capacitor. The electric double-layer capacitor includes an electrode portion composed of an anode and a cathode; a separator for providing electrical isolation between the anode and cathode; and an electrolyte solution which is filled in a space between the anode and cathode so as to form electric double-layers on surfaces of the anode and cathode upon application of a predetermined voltage, and in which a solvent and a solute are mixed so as to have a concentration of 1.25 to 2.5 mol/L.

Abstract: The invention relates to a socket to be mounted on a multi-conductor cable and including a removable comb (1) having a central channel (5) extending therethrough, a connection terminal block (2), and a screw (3) and nut (4) assembling device. According to the invention, the screw (3) is fixedly mounted on the comb (1) for axial translation therewith and capable of rotation relative to the comb about the axis (X) of the socket, the terminal block (2) including two columns (22) that prevent the rotation of the comb about the axis (X) and in which helical notches (41) are formed that define a portion at least of the nut (4).

Abstract: A medical tubing set sheath is provided which includes a retention portion for attaching the sheath to a collar of a connector attached to the medical tubing set. The sheath may serve as a handle to facilitate torque-locking of the connector to another connector. The sheath may also include a ratcheting mechanism in order to allow for the sheath to ratchet upon application of excess torque, when the tubing set is being attached to a peripheral tubing set. The sheath may also include a needle receiving portion, so that the sheath provides for a needle protector, which may be retained in a position displaced from the needle in order to insure that the needle is exposed when removed from its packaging, and can be quickly and easily inserted in a patient's arm.

Abstract: A fastening apparatus for fastening a component B to a component A enables an automatic compensation of tolerances in the separation distance between the two components. The apparatus consists of a receiving element 2, which can be fixed on the component A, an adjustment element 4, which can be screwed to the receiving element via a first thread pairing 28, 48 of a first thread direction, and a fastening screw 6, which can be screwed into the receiving element 2 via a second thread pairing 54, 56 of the opposite thread direction and can be connected with the adjustment element 4 via a detachable drag connection 46, 54, in order to also turn the adjustment element 4 when the fastening screw 6 is turned and to thereby move for the purpose of tolerance compensation in abutment with component B.
Abstract: A method and article for designing dual-mode adapters in a joint press kit. A plurality of ball joints for use with the adapters are selected. An adapter design is created by defining a first variable representative of a physical characteristic of the adapter design; defining a second variable representing a quantity of ball joints that are not compatible with the adapter design in a second operational mode; generating data sets including the first and second variables; and utilizing the data sets to determine a value for a characteristic of the adapter.
Abstract: A composite material comprising a support member that has a plurality of pores extending therethrough, a first polymer which durably coats the pores of the support member, the first polymer layer having both hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties, and a second polymer layer disposed on the surface of the first polymer layer, the second polymer being more hydrophilic than the first polymer layer. A process for preparing the composite material, and its use as a separation medium.

Abstract: The present invention provides a shadow community producing system matched to a variable area of an internet base and a method of the same, which allows users connecting with unspecified web sites of an internet base to arbitrarily and automatically construct a community area in the web sites in real time, and allows a number of third parties connecting to the web sites to confirm creation information regarding the community and access to the community area, thereby enhancing convenience and consistency in information sharing. The present invention has advantages in that it allows users to create shadow communities matched with URLs on all areas accessible through the user's terminals regardless of web site producing companies, thereby sharing objective information with many and unspecified users; allows users to freely create and manage shadow communities for web sites not having communities, categories, and products.
