Abstract: A waveguide circulator comprising at least three waveguide arms intersecting at a junction, at least one ferrite element positioned within the junction, an impedance transformer and a recessed transformer. At least a portion of each of the at least three waveguide arms and the junction define a first wall and a second wall that are positioned in an opposing relationship. The impedance transformer is positioned in proximity to the at least one ferrite element and projects from the first wall. The recessed transformer is positioned in proximity to the impedance transformer and is recessed within the first wall.

Abstract: A food mill including a container having a first flange and an opposing second flange, and a blade assembly removably connected to the container. The blade assembly includes a support arm having a first end defining a slot engageable with the first flange, and a second end including a latch. The latch is movable between a first condition, where the latch is disengaged from the second flange, and a second condition, where the latch is engaged with the second flange.

Abstract: In a method for joining at least two plate-shaped workpieces by a fastening tool and a device for operating the fastening tool, the fastening tool comprises a punch for exerting a punch force to perform a joining operation and a clamp for exerting a clamping force upon the workpieces at the joining area. During the joining operation the punch exerts a high punch force to perform the joining operation and the clamp exerts substantially no clamping force to allow for free material deformation in the joining area. After the joining operation both the punch and the clamp exert high forces at the same time to reduce any material deformations of the workpieces and to provide for compression of the workpieces in the joining area. Preferably the invention is used in a riveting tool for setting self-piercing rivets; as an alternative it may be used in a clinching tool.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for connecting with secure access, comprising a socket (1), a movable plug (non visible), a protective case (3) equipped with a mobile flap (4), and locking members. According to the invention, the locking members include a mobile latch (5), a runner (6), and a key (7) in order to maneuver the latch in the runner, the latch (5) being designed to retain the flap (4) in the closed configuration of the case (3), and in order to retain the plug in the state of use of this device.

Abstract: The suspendable locker has a plurality of side walls and a top wall interconnected to define an interior space. The suspendable locker has an open bottom leaving the interior space exposed from below. A door is hingedly connected to a side wall to provide an access opening into the interior space along a side at the bottom so a cart can be rolled into and from the interior space. An attachment structure for suspending the locker from a storage cabinet is connected to a side wall. The attachment structure includes a pair of L-shaped flanges connected to an exterior surface of a side wall. The L-shaped flanges engage a lip on a tool storage cabinet, enabling the suspendable locker to be cantilevered from the storage cabinet.

Abstract: A canister for housing a tool such as a toilet brush or plunger and the canister has a pair of walls which pivot between an open and closed position via actuation of a platform which moves vertically within the canister upon receipt or removal of the tool therefrom. An actuator is provided to actuate the walls and a bias member may retain the walls in an open position when the tool is removed from the canister.

Abstract: A three-dimensional constructional element 10 is shown having opposing and substantially planar panels 30, 40 mounted on opposing surfaces of a flexible planar member in the form of a flexible mesh material layer 52 therefore making a composite sheet of three layers. Panel 30 includes transverse grooves 12, 14 formed therein and panel 40 includes transverse grooves 16, 18 formed therein. The structure is deformable about each groove 12, 14, 16, 18. In a preferred embodiment the panels 30, 40 are divided into many segments defined by the transverse grooves to allow the constructional element to be deformed so that one of the exterior surfaces of panel 30 is concave while the opposing exterior surface of panel 40 is convex.

Abstract: A food slicer having a blade is disclosed having a runway for supporting food prior to cutting by the blade and a landing for supporting the blade and the food after being cut. The runway and landing are adjustable for selecting a thickness of a food slice. The runway and landing are simultaneously adjusted, by a single mechanism, so that the blade and runway are maintained generally parallel with respect to each other. The adjusting mechanism includes a plurality of rotatable cam portions that engage with respective portions on the runway and landing so that each of the runway and landing may be oppositely pivoted around an end to maintain the parallel relationship. The food slicer also includes on-board storage for inserts, such as julienning or cubing inserts. The storage is located on a bottom of the runway, which is pivoted upward for storage.

Abstract: A utility meter has an internal antenna for transmitting data. The antenna is positioned between the radome of the utility meter and its front surface. The antenna comprises dipole radiator that is generally curved to the shape of the meter housing. The dipole radiator comprises a dielectric substrate carrying two asymmetric curved radiating metallic sheets, each forming a portion of the dipole, which combined extend about 135° of the circumference of the utility meter. A balun feed is connected to the metallic sheets and a transmission line is coupled to a transmitter.

Abstract: Commercial data processors are available that include a capability of extending their instruction set for a specified application, i.e. of introducing customized functional units in the interest of enhanced processing performance. For such processors there is a need for automatically forming the extensions from high-level application code. A technique is described for selecting maximal-speedup convex subgraphs of the application dataflow graph under micro-architectural constraints.

Abstract: A test system for measuring a rotary load comprises a stepper motor drives a gear box that is mounted at one end of a frame. A torque sensor provides a measurement signal transmission. The gear box's output shaft is connected to one of the torque sensor's stubs by means of a universal joint coupling. On the other side of the torque sensor a second universal joint coupling connects the sensor to a stainless steel shaft. A low friction flange bearing is used to provide support for the shaft. An angle encoder is disposed on the end of the shaft distal to the gear box. The gear box's output shaft, the torque sensor's cylindrical shaft hubs and associated couplings are arranged such that they are directly aligned with the shaft. The test system has been designed to take automated torque and angle readings from a shaft capable of rotary motion.

Abstract: A fluid isolation valve having a valve body with a first fluid flow port, a second fluid flow port and a fluid drain port with a valve in the fluid drain port. The valve body also defines a fluid flow channel, a drain flow channel and a valve portion, wherein the valve portion is disposed in the valve body to be communicated with the first fluid flow port, the second fluid flow port and the fluid drain port A flow diversion device is also provided and is disposed within the valve portion. The flow diversion device is configurable between a first configuration and a second configuration, such that when the flow diversion device is in the first configuration the first fluid flow port is communicated with the second fluid flow port Consequently, when the flow diversion device is in the second configuration the first fluid flow port is communicated with the fluid drain port. The fluid flow can be decrease or stop by use of the valve within the fluid drain port.
