Abstract: A sheet processing system has a sheet processing apparatus and a server. The server stores, as sheet, the identification data of a sheet and the result of a process performed on the sheet in association. The server transmits the sheet data to the sheet processing apparatus. The sheet processing apparatus receives the sheet data from the server and stores the sheet data. The sheet processing apparatus acquires images of the sheet fed to it and acquires the identification data of the sheet on the basis of the images acquired. The sheet processing apparatus refers to the sheet data, discriminates the sheet on the basis of the identification data acquired, and classifies and collects the sheet in accordance with the result of discrimination.
Abstract: An immersion lithographic apparatus is provided with an electrode set to remove unwanted droplets of an immersion fluid from a particular surface. Unwanted droplets of immersion fluid may form on any number of different surfaces of the immersion apparatus, such as on a liquid barrier member. If allowed to evaporate and/or dry, these droplets may cause a problem such as uncontrolled heat loading of the apparatus and/or staining of the surface. An electrode set is provided on a surface where the droplets are likely to be formed. A controlled voltage is applied to the electrodes within the electrode set in order to electrostatically remove the droplets from the surface.

Abstract: System and methods of use are discloses that default routing of an ID read by an ID reader as part of a purchase transaction in a retail store, to a first computer system (MCS) instead of the POS computer system for the retail store, the first computer system processes the ID, and the POS computer system receives the results of the processing in the form of a IDs recognizable by the POS computer system and for which the POS computer system has associated costs.
Abstract: A table is disclosed in which measures are taken to seal between the table and an edge of an object, in use, supported on the table. In particular, a capillary passage is formed between the object on the table and the table itself. A meniscus pinning feature and/or the presence of an overpressure at the radially inward side of the capillary passage holds the liquid in the passage and helps prevent it from advancing further radially inwardly. The features to perform this function may be associated with or formed in a member surrounding the object. The member may be thermally decoupled from a part of the table.

Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring value-at-risk and profitability of hedging in relation to BMA debt obligations are provided using rigorous statistical solutions that address problems associated with municipalities involved in swap hedging face. Various embodiments permit users to quantify POL hedging basis risk through a VAR-style loss measurement and statistics measuring the profitability of a hedge, those statistics including gain durability and gain/loss ratio. Various aspects introduce significant innovation to risk management practices, particularly for tax-exempt issuers of debt. Certain embodiments of this disclosure facilitate better management of hedging risk, analysis of hedges using POL vs. BMA and provide guidance for analyzing the risk existing in an existing portfolio of POL swap hedges to better inform decision-making regarding use of hedging risk for profit or to lay off risk.

Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing the peak-to-average ratio (PAR) at the transmitter can reduce the dynamic range required in various analog components. PAR can be reduced by applying a time-domain compensation signal which reduces the magnitude of peaks in the time-domain signal prior to transmission where the time-domain compensation signals use tones that are reserved for the purpose of reducing the PAR. The reservation of these reserved tones for PAR can be implemented by altering the typical startup procedures in a digital subscriber line (xDSL) system. The use of the reserved tones to reduce the PAR can be implemented using a low complexity algorithm or using an adaptive technique.

Abstract: A device and method for permitting access to a real time data stream through prepayments or other payment arrangements and/or calculating a fee corresponding to usage of a real time data stream, wherein the real time data stream includes transcript data from a court transcription. In one example, a device may include a data collection device for receiving prepayment data, such as a code, key, token, pass that may contain purchase units therein; and a counter. In one embodiment, if the counter contains a value representing unused real time connections, then the data collection device permits the computing device to access to the real time data stream. In one example, the prepayment data includes a code containing a number representing a quantity of connections that may be made to the real time data stream.
