Abstract: A metallic receiving plate is located in a holding recess of a housing such that the plate opposes the distal end face of a worm shaft. The distal end of the receiving plate with respect to the rotating shaft defines a charging cavity in the holding recess. A resin material is charged into the charging cavity. A metallic ball is located between the distal end face of the worm shaft and the receiving plate. The ball makes point contact with the distal end face of the worm shaft and with the receiving plate. Two protrusions are formed on the receiving plate. The protrusions are embedded in the resin material to connect the receiving plate to the solidified resin material and to prevent the receiving plate from rotating. Thus, the rotational resistance of the worm shaft is reduced, and the durability of the bearing device is improved.
Abstract: A chip conveyor (K) which receives chips delivered from a machine tool (MC) in a receiving area (R1) transfers chips to a delivery position a specified distance apart from the receiving area, and is provided with an endless carrier (18) rotatably in a specified direction to deliver chips at the delivery position, characterized in that a passage ranging from the receiving area to the delivery position is used as a go route (R2) for the carrier, a passage ranging from the delivery position back to the receiving position is used as a return route (R3) for the carrier, and a separating device (25) which separates chips from the carrier by allowing liquid to act on the chips adhering to the carrier which passes the delivery position so that their adhesiveness is reduced or eliminated is installed in the return route, whereby the residual chips can be removed efficiently from the carrier so as to increase the durability of the carrier and a drive mechanism.
Abstract: The assembly functions to clamp onto and frictionally engage the polished rod of a well's rod string, with sufficient force to suspend the string from the wellhead. The assembly comprises an annular body forming opposed, radial, internally threaded side openings extending from its outer circumferential surface to its central vertical bore. An externally threaded locking member is positioned in each side opening and protrudes externally. The locking members can be manually threaded inwardly to engage the polished rod. An external leverage assembly is anchored to the body and engages one of the locking members. This leverage assembly can be manually turned to tighten the locking member against the polished rod with powerful axial force to provide enhanced gripping.

Abstract: A system for determining the position, orientation and deformation in 3 dimensional space of a moving object in real-time is provided having a plurality of activatable markers which are mounted onto the object and a sensor section comprising a plurality of individual sensors as shown diagrammatically in FIG. 1. Individual markers are activated in sequence with only one marker energized at any time. Energy emitted by each activated marker is detected by the plurality of sensors positioned remotely. Since only one marker is activated at any time individual determination of the position of the particular energized marker is simplified. Individual sensors are arranged such that each sensor receives a different energy level from an energized marker depending on the relative position of the marker to the sensor. A control unit analyzes the energy distribution range to determine the actual marker position. The system compensates for ambient energy and sensor saturation.
Abstract: In an acoustic transducer of the present invention, a connecting part connects a housing and a support of the housing, such that a user's auricle is pinched between the housing and the support cooperatingly. Two hooks shaped into a circular arc embracing a constricted part of the auricle therebetween fix the support. These two hooks are connected such that a gap therebetween can be changed or adjusted.

Abstract: A hammer system for automatically carrying out a standard penetration test is disclosed. A cylindrical housing, in which an anvil coupled to a drill rod is received, is supported by a first hydraulic cylinder coupled to boring equipment. A cylindrical hammer is received in the housing. The hammer includes a holding assembly therein, which selectively holds and raises the hammer by a second hydraulic cylinder. Element for limiting a stroke of the hammer is spacedly connected to the holding assembly to be raised and lowered therewith. The limiting element includes a first sensor to detect a slot formed at the housing when the hammer is raised, thereby counting the number of blows. The hammer includes a plurality of protrusions on its outer surface. A wall of the housing includes a second sensor to detect the number of protrusions passed over the second sensor when the hammer is raised, thereby calculating a penetration depth from a difference between the numbers of protrusions detected for two continuous blows.

Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to a rolling mill in which the supporting means are arranged in the middle region of the roll body of the working roll with their length(s) not longer than that of the roll body of the working roll. The supporting means supports or abuts against the middle and lateral roll supports at their central region in the axial direction during the operation of the rolling mill so as to provide central support to the roll supports. As a result, the middle and lateral roll supports and hence the rolls will not deflect or bend under the action of rolling force.
Abstract: A 3D graphic accelerator and a method for processing a graphic acceleration using the same is provided in which the inputted primitives are geometrically processed, and existence of any transparent primitives or dominance/rarity of opaque primitives is determined among the geometrically processed primitives. The primitives are rendered in an object-order style and an image-order style in accordance with the determination. The information on the rendered primitives is stored in a corresponding frame buffer and a bucket, and the rendered primitives are display-refreshed. Thus, the 3D graphic accelerator with order- independent transparency and high performance is obtained.
Abstract: A system to keep any type of vessel afloat in case of entry of water or capsizing by means of providing an unfolding mechanism of inflatable flotation and stabilization elements through the outside of the hull of the vessel, including a variety of devices that are actuated automatically or manually if necessary when a water level or inclination meter inside the vessel detects that water has reached a maximum permitted level or an excessive inclination occurs, which causes the opening of an electrically operated valve to allow pressurized fluid to pass in order to unfold said flotation and stabilization elements. Alternatively, another unfolding mechanism may consist of a pair of cylinders screwed to one another, through the wall of the hull, the interior cylinder of which encloses the flotation and stabilization elements and the exterior cylinder of which includes a cover on its outside face that can be ejected by the pressure exerted from the interior.
Abstract: Decontaminated crushed polyethylene terephthalate is converted to decontaminated PBT withtout requiring a catalyst by mixing with 1,4-butanediol under reduced pressure, transeterifying at 120-190° C., distilling off ethanediol and tetrahydrofuran under sub-atomspheric pressure. The method lowers costs, and decreases wasteful by-products and removes contaminants present in post-consumer PET, (e.g. paper, pigments, plastics, dyes, mineral sands, and clays) and chemical and water insoluble contaminants.

Abstract: A machine tool includes a tool spindle rotatably mounted in a housing. A tool member is disposed in a front spindle segment of the spindle and is releasably clamped by a clamping member. An actuating member is mounted in and is axially movable relative to the spindle to actuate the clamping member. First and second anti-friction bearings are interposed between the housing and the spindle and have different outer diameters. A preload actuating member is disposed to force the second anti-friction bearing in the axial direction to take up the slack in a non-actuated state of the second anti-friction bearing when the spindle is running in a higher speed, thereby resuming the anti-friction function of the second anti-friction bearing when running the tool spindle at a lower speed is intended.
