Abstract: Provided are processes by which an ethylenimine polymer and an aqueous solution thereof can advantageously be produced at low costs in an industrial scale. The ethylenimine polymer can be produced by polymerizing crude ethylenimine obtained by a simple distilling operation from an ethylenimine-containing reaction mixture produced by subjecting ethanolamine to intermolecular dehydration reaction, preferably crude ethylenimine having impurity contents which are controlled in the specific ranges. When the above crude ethylenimine is polymerized in an aqueous medium, capable of being obtained is an aqueous solution of an ethylenimine polymer having a higher molecular weight than that produced by non-solvent polymerization. The ethylenimine polymer can be purified by, for example, adding water thereto, mixing them and then vaporizing and removing water under heating. The aqueous solution of an ethylenimine polymer can be purified by heating and condensing it.

Abstract: Silane based coating compositions provide durable, corrosion resistant coatings on metal and non-metal surfaces. A typical composition may include one or a mixture of silanes, such as methyltrimethoxysilane and phenyltrimethoxysilane. The coating compositions may be formulated with either acidic or basic catalysts, the latter being especially suitable for coating steel substrates. Coatings for food and beverage containers, automotive finishes, HVAC surfaces, alkali metal silicates, concrete, and the like, are described. Primer coating compositions which include two or more polyfunctional organosilanes but no monofunctional organosilanes provide strongly adherent corrosion resistant primer coatings for metals and are very adherent to polyurethane, epoxy and other resin topcoats.
Abstract: In the present invention, for the production of a blow-molded foam, there is used a base resin which is mainly composed of a polypropylene resin and has, at 230° C., a melt tension (MT) of 10 gf or over and a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.5 g/10 minutes or over. A foaming agent is added to the base resin, followed by melt kneading by means of an extruder under high temperature and high pressure conditions to provide a foamable melt. This melt is subjected to extrusion from a circular die 5 and expanded to form a cylindrical foamed parison 4. Thereafter, molds 6, 6 are clamped, and the parison 4 in a softened condition is placed in the molds 6, 6, and a pressurized gas is blown into the parison 4 from a gas blowing port 7 for blow molding in the form of a hollow shape conforming to the mold profile to produce a blow-molded foam.
