Abstract: Backrest for a vehicle seat with a height-adjustable headrest, which is adjusted by support rods guided inside the backrest frame, and which has ends of the support rods connected to one another by a crossbar having one or more radially biased retaining elements for retaining an end of one of the support rods, and a locking element provided for restricting movement of the retaining element. During assembly of the automobile seat, before upholstering, one of the stop-lock connections located between the support rods and the crossbar is locked by pushing a locking element up on the outside of the retaining element. The stop-lock connection is thus “frozen” to a certain extent. Once manufacturing of the automobile seat is completed, this stop-lock connection can be disengaged only by partially removing the upholstery, which for practical purposes excludes a removal of the headrests for day-to-day driving.
Abstract: Inclination adjustment fitting for back rest of a vehicle seat includes first fitting part affixed to seat section, and second fitting part affixed to back rest, and which fitting parts are relatively pivotable around a pivoting axis. The two fitting parts include gearings forming components of a wobble gearing and roll on one another under influence of eccentric elements rotated around the pivoting axis. Eccentric element includes an eccentric ring, on which two wedge segments covering regions of eccentric ring lie in a mirror-image arrangement, and which are forced away from one another in the sense of an increase in eccentricity by a spring. Under excessive load, force transfer between fitting parts not accomplished via wedge segments; rather, a contact cam forming a single piece with eccentric ring projects into gap between end surfaces of wedge segments, transfers load via a contact surface from second fitting part first fitting part.
Abstract: Seat for a rear row of seats in a vehicle, which seat can be collapsed into a recess positioned in the cargo area behind the row of seats for the purpose of expanding cargo space, so that the back side of the backrest, which is folded forward onto the seat portion, is facing upward, and is essentially flush with the cargo area floor. The seat improves the kinematics of known seats and thereby makes the seat more ergonomically favorable in terms of its operation. The conversion of the seat from its use position to its non-use position is achieved through a single operation, namely a continuous pull on a strap fastened at the back end of a two-component seat portion frame, unlike known complicated systems.
Abstract: A two player game apparatus comprising a hexagonal gameboard with six major equilateral triangular segments each of which is defined by sixteen equilateral minor triangles. There are two adjacent and two opposite adjacent major segments each having game piece locator indicia on the first twelve of the equilateral minor triangles starting at the base of the segment and extending towards the center point of the board leaving the remaining four minor triangles nearest the center point free of indicia with the minor triangles being of two alternating colors and including two different colored sets of twenty-four game pieces including eight different valued pieces located on the locator indicia.
Abstract: There is provided a method for manufacturing steel parts for an automotive automatic transmission in which a desired joint portion of each steel part is copper-brazed at a high temperature while chromium in an alloy steel for machine structural use forming the steel part for an automotive automatic transmission is kept in a reducing atmosphere and without removal of carbon, and the part is successively reheated continuously with the copper brazing by utilizing residual heat at the time of copper brazing, by which the temperature of the part is increased to perform quench hardening. In the above-described manufacturing method, the heating treatment for copper brazing of the part and the heating treatment for quenching thereof are connected to each other via an intermediate cooling treatment in which the temperature of the part is decreased to a temperature below the Ar1 point, and these heating treatments are performed in an atmosphere of a neutral gas such as nitrogen gas supplied into a graphite muffle.

Abstract: A piston for an internal combustion motor has a skirt with a surface, which is at least partially polished and thereafter coated with a coating having a hardness of greater than 8 GPa and having a coefficient of friction of less than 0.20. The piston has an increased performance, a longer lifetime and a reduced friction.

Abstract: It is an object to provide a high ion conductive solid electrolyte which uses organic and inorganic complex compound having water absorption and water resistance and to provide an electrochemical system using the high ion conductive solid electrolyte. The high ion conductive solid electrolyte is composed a complex compound including water that has zirconic acid compound and polyvinyl alcohol and compound having carboxyl group or metal salt of the compound having carboxyl group. An aqueous solution in which zirconium salt or oxyzirconnium salt and polyvinyl alcohol and compound having carboxyl group or metal salt of the compound having carboxyl group are dissolved is neutralized by alkali. After removing water used as solvent, unnecessary salts are removed from the neutralized solution. The high ion conductive solid electrolyte is obtained which is composed of the complex compound. Various electrochemical systems are obtained each of which use the high ion conductive solid electrolyte.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for preventing a control program written in a first engine control unit (ECU) from running in a second ECU, comprising obtaining an ID number from the first ECU; encrypting the ID number; writing the encrypted ID number into a flash memory of the first ECU; encrypting the ID number again and writing the encrypted ID number into an EEPROM of the first ECU; and requiring the control program to match the encrypted ID number placed in the flash memory and the EEPROM before running the program, and if the match fails, terminating the control program from running further.

Abstract: Method of making a bumped thinned circuit wafer includes providing a silicon circuit wafer, and providing a conductive layer on it. Then, a first temporary support, such as a handle wafer, may be attached by an acrylic bond. The circuit wafer may then be thinned to a desired thickness, and the thinned circuit attached to a second temporary support, such as a transfer wafer. The handle wafer is removed, the thinned circuit wafer is bumped, and further processing steps may be carried out while the bumped thinned circuit wafer is still attached to the transfer wafer. When the desired processing steps are complete, the transfer wafer is removed, and the thinned circuit wafer with relatively thick solder bumps results.

Abstract: Infinitely adjustable calibrating shell includes a central piece formed by strips or bands which are hingedly connected to each other and intersect like an extendable lattice that is formed into a shell. Preferably, the ends of the strips are movably connected to annular heads. The inner diameter of the central piece which is decisive for the calibrating process, can be modified by axially changing the distance between the annular heads, the cross section of the central piece having a circular shape in each axial position. The infinitely adjustable calibrating shell is suitable for continuous extruded plastic parts, in particular plastic pipes.
Abstract: Self-propelled life vest for assisting a swimmer in water includes an inflatable body, the body being configured for being worn on a torso of a swimmer. An upper connector is provided and configured for connecting the body to an upper portion of a swimmer, in use. A lower connector is configured for connecting to a lower portion of a swimmer, in use. A propulsion unit on the vest is sufficiently strong for propelling a swimmer through water, in use. A power is operatively connected with the propulsion unit for powering the propulsion unit. An inflation control is provided on the body and operatively connects with the inflation device for inflating and deflating the inflation device, in use. A propulsion unit housing prevents the swimmer from contacting the propulsion unit, and directs inflow and outflow of propelled water, in use, for assisting in moving the swimmer in the desired direction.
