  • Patent number: 8242325
Abstract: The invention relates to a production method for a foam wound dressing with an outer germ barrier, in particular a film layer, and to a wound dressing obtained by such a method. In the method according to the invention, the germ barrier is generated by means of extrusion directly on the foam support. This results in a more reliable union between foam layer and germ barrier, without thereby compromising the absorbency of the foam in respect of wound exudate. The proposed method is simple and inexpensive and is able to satisfy all the requirements of the medical sector (e.g. freedom from solvents).

  • Patent number: 8241693
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing a fat-containing suspension and/or a fat-containing emulsion, in particular a chocolate or a chocolate-like fat composition, by mixing an emulsion formed by means of a reactive emulsifying technique, which emulsion has a disperse aqueous phase and a continuous fat phase, with a fat phase, in particular a cocoa mass. The invention relates, in particular, to a method of producing agave syrup-containing chocolate, wherein an emulsion consisting of cocoa butter or another fat or fat mixture and agave syrup or an aqueous sugar solution is generated and mixed with cocoa mass. According to the invention, the emulsion and later the chocolate are stabilized by emulsification at elevated temperature and evaporating the agave syrup or the sugar solution in the emulsified state. An otherwise customary comminution of the dry materials is therefore no longer necessary since the fineness necessary for sensory properties is set by the emulsifying process.

  • Patent number: 8225910
Abstract: A device for controlling roll-back of a piston in a brake caliper includes a bush coaxial with and external to the piston. The bush has an outer sealing surface, and a scraper element seated in the caliper body acts against the sealing surface of the bush. An elastic element between the bush and the piston has a elastic constant selected so as to provide an elastic force on the piston substantially weaker that the axial friction force exerted by the scraper element. When the piston is pushed out of its piston seat, the piston packs the elastic means or abuts against the bush before relative sliding occurs between the scraper element and the outer sealing surface of the bush.

  • Patent number: 8215266
Abstract: A bathing tub for pets includes a basin with lateral wings projecting from opposite sides. The wings are useful as handles and work surfaces, and engage the rim of a sink into which the tub is placed to prevent the tub from tipping. One or more interchangeable elements can be snapped into the center of the basin to construct a mound assembly in the center of the basin of the proper height for a particular animal; the mound height can be changed, by adding or removing elements, for other animals. While being bathed, the pet stands in the basin with its feet straddling the mound; this prevents the pet from sitting or lying down in the tub. Restraining straps may be applied through slots in the tub to keep the animal in a correct position.

  • Patent number: 8191948
Abstract: A gripper for manipulating containers includes a support on which a cam mechanism is pivotally mounted. The gripper has a first jaw operated by the cam mechanism and a second jaw controlled by the first jaw. The first jaw has an actuator which interacts with a receiving mechanism on the second jaw for opening or closing the gripper. The actuator is pivotally associated with the first jaw so that, when force is applied by the receiving mechanism due to rotation of the second jaw relative to the first jaw, the actuator can rotate relative to the first jaw to allow the gripper to open.
