Abstract: A container for take-away pizza or the like comprises a first dish-shaped semi-container and a second dish-shaped semi-container comprising a first and a second support portions, respectively, adapted to support the pizza, and means for the mutual releasable connection of the first and the second semi-containers. The first and the second semi-containers are shaped so that, when they are connected, the respective support portions thereof form, together, a pizza seat adapted to internally contain the take-away pizza and, when they are separated, each of them can act as a dish for the pizza through the respective support portion thereof. The first and the second semi-containers are made of a washable material so that the container can be used many times.

Abstract: An improved panel is disclosed. The panel is of the type for use with a bracket and which, in use: forms a wall surface as part of an assembly for partitioning or dividing a space; defines a horizontal groove; and is adapted to releasably, securely, receive, via the horizontal groove, said bracket. The improvement comprises a metal sheet and a metal bolster. The metal sheet has a front and a rear face, the front face defining said wall surface in use and said sheet defining a horizontal slot in use. The metal bolster is secured to the rear face of said metal sheet to define, in combination with the metal sheet, said horizontal groove.

Abstract: An unlock transmission mechanism for escape doors is disclosed, including a base, a transmission member, a first drive unit and a second drive unit, wherein the transmission member, the first drive unit and second drive unit are all disposed on the base, and the transmission member is actuated to move relative to the first drive unit and the second drive unit, respectively. In the case that the unlock transmission mechanism is to be installed in an escape door that has a different installation orientation, the transmission member and the first drive unit provided therein have the characteristics of multi-directional changeability, thereby enabling flexible installation of the escape door lock and eliminating the necessity to replace an existing door handle mechanism as encountered in the prior art.

Abstract: A tool for preparing vertebral surfaces following a discectomy has a body and a rotary cutting tool mounted at the distal end of a lever which extends through the body. The proximal end of the lever can be squeezed toward the body to force the cutting tool against the vertebral surface facing it, while the tool is rotated by turning a crank supported on the tool body, or by a motor. The cutting tool is preferably a flexible rasp or blade which can conform to and control the convexity of the prepared surface.

Abstract: A closure 10 for a container, comprises a substantially circular base 20, a skirt 30 extending from the periphery thereof, a bore seal 50 in the form of an annulus and a rib 70 lying on the surface of the base 20 in a substantially radial direction and in contact with the radially inner surface of the bore seal 50 at one end for transferring any movement of the center of the base 20, relative to the skirt 30, to the bore seal 50 such that the bore seal 50 is pulled radially inward to allow venting of excess pressure within the container, wherein the end of the rib 70 in contact with the radially inner surface of the bore seal 50 is substantially thinner, in a plane parallel to the base 20, than the other end of the rib 70.

Abstract: A flow-through mixing apparatus for incorporating a dry treatment product into a waste stream. The apparatus comprises a pump for directing a liquid waste from a storage pit/tank, a mixer that receives the liquid waste from the pump, and a valve downstream of the mixer for either recirculating the liquid waste back to the storage pit/tank via a recirculation conduit, or directing the liquid waste to a discharge conduit. The mixer comprising a jet nozzle, a venturi tube and a high-shear assembly. The recirculation conduit establishes a calibration loop for determining the appropriate treatment regimen based on the characteristics of the waste liquid. The recirculation conduit also permits the homogenization of the pit/tank contents prior to addition of the dry treatment product. The dry treatment product introduced in the region of the mixer is subjected high shear forces, thereby incorporating the dry treatment product into the waste stream with increased dispersion and reduced agglomeration.

Abstract: A container of a water softening plant, comprises a first shell with a first chamber suitable for holding a brine solution and a second shell with a second chamber, separated from the first chamber, suitable for housing a tank, so keeping the tank separate from the mixture. The first shell and/or the second shell are manufactured by blow moulding.

Abstract: Apparatus (10) for removing sludge from a liquid reservoir, the apparatus (10) comprising buoyant float means (12), a sludge pump (24) mounted via a support arm (17) and the apparatus (10) having an upper profile so as to allow it in use to operate beneath a membrane covering at least part of the reservoir. The support arm (17) may be oscillated to move the pump in a substantially vertical plane. The buoyancy of the float means (12) may be adjusted to vary the position of floating of the apparatus (10) in the liquid.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method for marking and authenticating a security article, such as a banknote, a document, a ticket, a foil, a thread, a label, a card, or a commercial good, so as to provide for an easy authentication of said article by a machine, such as a currency acceptor, a ticket validator, or a hand-held authentication device. According to the disclosed method, the security article carries a marking in the form of a user-defined design, wherein said marking comprises dyes or pigments belonging to an extended, or hyperchromic color space which is not reproducible by commercially available, 4-color desktop reproduction equipment. The authentication of said marking includes the mathematical transformation of the crude spectral information to statistically independent hyper-color coordinates, and the comparison of selected hyper-color coordinates with corresponding reference values.

Abstract: A “cross-over” compound crossbow includes a stock and barrel assembly attached to a horizontally mounted compound bow. The compound bow component is similar to that of U.S. Pat. No. 7,047,958 and includes an alternative arrow support system to achieve higher arrow velocity at a reduced draw weight. The crossover compound bow also provides draw weight adjustability and positive cam synchronization.

Abstract: A method of making shape-adaptable and spectral-selective distributed optical radiation sources, in the wavelength range between UV and mid-infrared, for therapeutic treatment using passive host medium containing nanocrystals is disclosed. The spectral output of the distributed optical radiation source is controlled by the nanocrystal size distribution that determines the spectral output of fluorescence radiation originating from these nanocrystals from within the said host medium, which contains the said nanocrystals, under excitation by an external source. The size of nanocrystals, or the size distribution of nanocrystals, incorporated in the host medium is selected based on the radiation spectral output required for therapeutic requirements. The passive host medium, incorporating the said nanocrystals, is made of adaptable, geometrically configurable, material that conforms to any desired shape.

Abstract: A circular knitting machine for men's socks with needles on the dial comprising a dial needles selector mechanism able to selectively move the dial needles to involve the selected needles in the formation of the stitches and to exclude the needles not selected. In addition the machine is able to repeatedly perform transfer of the stitch from the cylinder to the dial. Moreover, the machine is fitted with a mechanical traction mechanism for tensioning the sock being formed. In addition, the machine presents expedients to limit the deformation of the selector rods and reduce detrimental effects on the actuator or flaws in the formation of the stitch.
