Patent number: 8160895Abstract: User interfaces for proactive and interactive clinical decision support events are provided. When a clinical decision support event is initiated for a patient, relevant stored clinical information associated with the patient is accessed. A user interface is generated using the stored clinical information. A clinician may interact with the user interface by providing user-provided clinical information that may add to and/or modify the stored clinical information in the user interface. Clinical advice is provided via the user interface based on the stored clinical information and the user-provided clinical information.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2007Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Cerner Innovation, Inc.Inventors: Michael D. Patent number: 8157482Abstract: An anchor system for securing a cable within the ground. The system includes a body having a tapered cap and an internal cylindrical slot provided therethrough. A driving rod having an end with a smaller diameter is provided through the slot so that the driving rod extends from the body of the anchor system. The body is provided with a catch through which a line is secured. The driving rod is utilized to drive the anchor system into the ground. As the driving rod extends from the body, the driving rod bears the brunt of the force associated with the driving action, allowing the anchor system to be constructed of a lightweight, inexpensive material. Once the anchor system has been provided at the desired depth, the driving rod is removed and the strap is pulled to set the anchor into place.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2009Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Erosion Tech, LLCInventors: Thomas J. Patent number: 8150841Abstract: Methods, systems, and media are provided for identifying and clustering queries that are rising in popularity. Resultant clustered queries can be compared to other stored queries using textual and temporal correlations. Fresh indices containing information and results from recently crawled content sources are searched to obtain the most recent query activity. Historical indices are also searched to obtain temporally correlated information and results that match the clustered query stream. A weighted average acceleration of a spike can be calculated to distinguish between a legitimate spike and a non-legitimate spike. Legitimate clusters are combined with other stored clusters and presented as grouped content results to a user output device.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2010Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Christopher Avery Meyers, Gopi Prashanth Gopal, Andrew Peter Oakley, Nitin Agrawal, Nicholas Eric Craswell, Milad Shokouhi, Derrick Leslie Connell, Sanaz Ahari, Neil Bruce Sharman, Gaurav Sareen, Hugh Evan Williams, Jay Kumar Goyal

Patent number: 8142137Abstract: A gas turbine vane to improve vane performance by addressing known failure mechanisms. A cooling circuit to the trailing edge of a vane airfoil is fed from the outer diameter platform, which prevents failure due to an oxidized and eroded airfoil trailing edge. The gas turbine includes an outer diameter platform, a hollow airfoil and an inner diameter platform with a plurality of cooling tubes extending radially through the airfoil. The cooling tubes are open at the outer diameter end and closed with covers at the inner diameter end. The inner diameter platform is also cooled and includes a meterplate for a portion of the cooling passageway and includes an undercut to improve thermal deflections of the inner diameter platform.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2008Date of Patent: March 27, 2012Assignee: Alstom Technology LtdInventors: Chris Johnston, Gary Bash, Tim teRiele, David Parker, James Page Strohl

Patent number: 8140974Abstract: Systems, methods, computer-readable media, and graphical user interfaces for presenting secondary media objects are provided. A primary media presenting module presents primary media. Upon detecting an indication to initiate the presentation of a secondary media object, the primary media object may be delayed and the secondary media object may be initiated. In embodiments, an indication to initiate the presentation of a secondary media object may comprise a selector hovered over a song title associated with the secondary media object. At a later instance, the primary media object may resume such that it resumes at the point at which the primary media object was delayed. Patent number: 8135750Abstract: A relationship data structure associated with a source resource enables methods to discover and describe relationships between the source resource and a plurality of target resources. The relationships are stored in a format independent of the encoding of the source resource. Each relationship between the source resource and the plurality of target resources is stored in a content-neutral format, and the relationship data structure stores, a location of each target resource, a type of relationship with each target resource and an identifier to uniquely identify each relationship between the source resource and each target resource. Accordingly, the relationship data structure allows a decoder to directly discover the relationships between the source resource and the plurality of target resources without decoding the source resource or target resources.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2005Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Andrey Shur, Bruce A. Patent number: 8132910Abstract: The contrast sensitivity of an individual may be tested and/or trained using a plurality of circular contrast zones. The individual may select the circular contrast zone having a different degree of contrast than the other circular contrast zones. For example, the individual may select the circular contrast zone having the highest or lowest contrast of a displayed plurality of circular contrast zones. A plurality of circular contrast zones may be displayed with a spatial arrangement that facilitates inputting a selection of one of the plurality by the individual. A variety of input devices may be used to receive a selection from an individual. Both the accuracy and speed of an individual's contrast sensitivity may be tested and/or trained in accordance with the present invention.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2011Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Nike, Inc.Inventors: Graham B. Patent number: 8132679Abstract: When displayed, greeting cards are typically organized on a display fixture having multiple rows or levels upon which to sit the cards. Each row then has a front wall to hold in the card, yet is short enough to still view a portion of the greeting card above the wall. Because display fixtures are manufactured to have a specified amount of rows or levels at a specified depth, in order to adjust the specifications of a display fixture, other pieces may be used, for example, by attaching to the display fixture a convertible row to add another level or tier between set rows of the display fixture. By providing another row using a convertible row, another set of greeting cards may be displayed between cards displayed on other rows of the original display fixture, increasing the density of the overall display.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2008Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Hallmark Cards, IncorporatedInventors: Todd E. Patent number: 8132347Abstract: When displaying products on a display hook, labels associated with the products are oftentimes presented via a label holder affixed to the display hook. Because various display hook structures exist, an interchangeable label holder can be utilized to adjoin to the various structures. Accordingly, in one embodiment, a label holder is adapted for being affixed to both a cylindrical-shaped crossbar and a display plate crossbar of a display hook. The rear face of the interchangeable label holder includes first brackets and second brackets adapted for receiving either the cylindrical-shaped crossbar or the display plate crossbar. The rear face of the interchangeable label holder also includes a first securing element and a second securing element functional for receiving lateral edges of the display plate crossbar to restrict lateral movement of the label holder.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2010Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Hallmark Cards, IncorporatedInventors: Danell M.
