Abstract: An automatic hopper fill system for a coin dispensing machine. An auxiliary coin reservoir container is positioned entirely within the machine to perform the hopper fill function when the hopper becomes empty. The container includes an opening or chute which is normally blocked by an electro-mechanically controlled release door and opened electronically by a circuit which reads a hopper empty code generated to release the auxiliary coin reserve into the hopper. An indicator light is mounted on the external surface of the machine to indicate that the auxiliary container has released the coin reserve into the hopper so that the auxiliary container can be re-filled with coins at a convenient time.

Abstract: A tamper-evident closure including a cap having a base and an upstanding post, the base defining a circular channel. A spout is positioned on the upstanding post, with the spout carrying a circumferential skirt permanently retained in the circular channel. A frangible line of weakness permits separation of the spout from the circumferential skirt. The spout and circumferential skirt are of a color that contrasts with the color of the base and post, so that, upon movement of the spout on the post, the circumferential skirt remains in the channel to provide a visual indication of such movement.

Abstract: A mount of an electrical connector serves to firmly mount the connector on an electrical appliance. One connector body of the electrical connector is to be fixed to a circuit board of the electrical appliance and has a housing as its outer casing whose mating connector socket is positioned in and spaced the connector opening formed in a panel plate of the electrical appliance. The mount is constructed as a clamp holder made of a resin including a fitting portion to be fitted on the outer circumference of the housing of the connector body fixed to the circuit board. The fitting portion of the clamp holder is also to be fixed to the panel plate in the state of the fitting portion being fitted on the outer circumference of the housing of the connector body so that the clamp holder made of the resin, the housing of the connector body and the panel plate are integrally fixed to one another.

Abstract: A hinged closure including a lid hingedly connected to a base positioned upon a container for dispensing of the contents thereof. The base is formed with an upper wall including an angled deck surface. The lid has a peripheral wall with a portion thereof of reduced thickness to permit flexing thereof. When the lid is in closed position over the base, the reduced thickness portion of the lid is disposed adjacent to the angled deck surface. Upon exertion of a force against said reduced thickness portion of the lid, said portion flexes inwardly and a terminal edge thereof ramps upwardly on the angled deck surface to cause the lid to pivot into open position with respect to the base.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connector body to be mounted on a circuit board of an electrical appliance by means of protruding terminal legs of contacts incorporated in the connector body and by means of fixing legs of a shell as a worked body of a metallic plate forming an outer casing of the connector body. A mating connector socket of the shell is positioned so as to open outwardly of the electrical appliance. The shell has an auxiliary leg to be fixed to the circuit board. The auxiliary leg is formed by extension pieces extending from part of the shell on the side of the mating connector socket with respect to the fixing legs of the shell. The auxiliary leg serves to mount the electrical connector on the circuit board with great stability which is maintained for a long time.

Abstract: A container cap with tamper-evident band formed with a detent ring and a tearband, forming a tamper ring. When the cap is installed on the container neck, the detent ring engages an abutment shoulder on the neck to force latch tabs formed on the detent ring to engage a tamper band formed on the cap. Detent tabs formed on the detent ring engage a tamper projection shoulder on the container neck to prevent the detent ring from removal from the container neck when the cap is removed from the container.

Abstract: An electronic part, particularly a microstructure contact having an overall length of the order of 5 mm for an electrical connector or the like is provided with a nickel oxide layer portion having a nickel oxide layer of the order of 50 to 5000 .ANG. in thickness formed by anode oxidizing process using a solution mainly consisting of an alkaline solution. The nickel oxide layer portion is located between a terminal portion of the electronic part to be soldered as in a surface mounting process and a contact portion continuous to and extending from the terminal portion. The nickel oxide layer has a width of the order of 0.2 to 1 mm in the longitudinal direction of the contact and has a performance preventing the flowing of molten solder, thereby effectively preventing the flowing and wicking due to wetting of solder of the solder-plated portion toward the other portions as in the surface mounting process.

Abstract: A connection portion of a contact for use in an electrical connector or the like. The connection portion is in the form of a substantially U-shaped groove, to which is connected an exposed conductor of an electric wire. The connection portion includes on both sides bending pieces forming the walls of the U-shaped groove and asymmetrically arranged. With this construction, a relatively deep and wide groove of the connection portion is obtained even if the contact itself is small.

Abstract: An electrical connector to be connected to a cable comprises a housing having a contact receiving portion therein, plural sets of contact pairs arranged in a row in the contact receiving portion of the housing, and a shield plate provided between at least two adjacent contact pairs. The shield plate serves to prevent occurrence of cross talk as much as possible.

Abstract: The mouse of the computer is equipped with a reader of an access code located in one or a set of chipcards for users. The reader is connected to an antenna equipping the mouse so that the user has only to present his card to the mouse inside the influence zone of the antenna for obtaining that the access code is transmitted to the computer and that the security device rendering the computer inoperant is unlocked.

Abstract: A propeller shaft includes male and female shafts, each having at one end a yoke and at the other end a spline sliding portion. At least one of these shafts is wholly made of a hollow tube and its one end is worked to form an integral yoke and the other end is plastically worked with a die to form an integral spline sliding portion. A separate yoke may be welded to the hollow tube. The spline sliding portion thus formed has spline teeth of an integer number within the range of numerals obtained by multiplying the numeral indicating a larger spline diameter in mm by 0.12 to 0.25. The spline teeth has a spline tooth root angle within the range of 90 to 120 degrees enclosed between side faces of adjacent spline teeth. The propeller shaft reduces man-hour for producing it to improve the production efficiency and hence reduce its cost.

Abstract: A picture hanger locating device for use with a picture having a hanging cord positioned on the rear thereof intended to be disposed over a hook or like member to be secured to a wall behind the desired location of the picture. A cord tensioning member is adapted to be removably positioned at a first end thereof over the upper peripheral edge of the picture and at a second end spaced from said first end in communication with the cord to move the same to the tensioned position the cord will assume when the cord is disposed over the hook member. A wall marking device is secured to the second end facing away from the rear of the picture and toward the wall to mark the wall at the location along the length of the cord where the hook member should be placed to engage the cord when the picture is hung on the wall.

Abstract: A tamper-evident cap retained on a container to seal the contents thereof. The cap includes a circumferential tamper band having an inwardly projecting annular flange to be engaged below an annular lip projecting from the mouth of the container. A tear lever is formed as part of the tamper band at a common hinge portion thereof. The tear lever includes a free edge disposed spaced from said hinge portion and connected to a free edge of said tamper band at two securement points only. The cap is removable from the container by pulling on said tear lever to separate same from the tamper band at the two securement points and pivoting the lever about the hinge to disengage the annular flange from the annular lip.

Abstract: A tamper-evident cap and overcap including a cap with an upstanding cap portion and a lower base, the base defining a circumferential channel. An overcap is positioned to enclose the upstanding cap portion, with the overcap carrying a circumferential projection or skirt permanently retained in the circumferential channel, typically by force-fit. A frangible line of weakness permits separation of the overcap and the circumferential projection. At least the circumferential projection, and typically also the overcap, are of a color that contrasts with the color of the cap, so that, upon removal of the cap, the remaining edge of the circumferential projection gives an indication that the overcap has been removed.

Abstract: A child-resistant closure for a container having a neck and a mouth covered by a flexible cap of inverted cup shape. The container neck includes an outwardly projecting, ramped rib having a lower ramp end. The cap has at least one projection extending inwardly from a sidewall, with the projection being normally positioned radially spaced outside of the ramped rib, but being manually movable inwardly with the side wall to engage the ramped rib near the lower end in a predetermined rotational position of the cap. A detent member hold the cap in a position closing the container mouth but permitting cap rotation. The sidewall may be squeezed to engage the projection and ramped rib, and rotated in one direction, with the ramped rib raising the projection, to force the cap upwardly to open the container by disengaging the detent member from its cap-holding position.

Abstract: Two secateur jaws are jointed together by means of a pin with radial lugs engaging a ring attached to one jaw and extending through a sleeve slidably arranged in the two jaws. Said sleeve encloses a helical return spring between the sleeve and the head of the pin. The head of the sleeve has an external screw thread with a ring screwed thereon for adjusting the tension of the spring. The sleeve may be moved axially by screwing said ring on or off to change the tension of the spring and thus the force exerted by the latter on said jaws, whereby the engagement pressure therebetween also changes.

Abstract: A bulletin/write board includes opaque first member intended to be mounted on a wall or positioned upstanding on a horizontal surface. At least one overlay member is pivotally secured to said first member along juxtaposed edges of said members by a spirally wound hinge to permit the overlay member to be pivoted over or away from said first member. Said members are generally rigid and have smooth surfaces which permit removable adhesive placement of note items or wipe-off writings thereon. Fasteners are provided to permit selective fastening of said overlay member to said first member when the overlay member is positioned over said first member.
