  • Patent number: 4680183
Abstract: The present invention has for object a process for making a food product from cheap meat chunks having a moisture content situated between 30 to 80% and a fat content situated between 1 to 30%. The chunks are comminuted to form a smooth homogeneous paste having a particular size of less than 2 mm. Salt is added to the paste to produce a partial solubilization of the meat proteins. Then slices of a thickness less than 3 mm are formed. The slices are stabilized by a mild heat treatment.

  • Patent number: 4667848
Abstract: A machine for dispensing granular confectionery, such as gumballs, peanuts, and the like, which includes a housing, a container globe seated on the housing, a cap seated on the globe and a vertical standard extending interior of the housing and globe and including a threaded end. A retainer ring is seated on the globe with a gasket interposed. The inlet to the globe carries opposing deformations in the form of notches in the perimeter of the entrance opening of the globe. The retainer ring carries depending lugs seatable in the notches. The cap can be tightened onto the globe with the lugs seated in the notches so as to prevent relative rotation between the retainer ring and globe during tightening of the cap and thereby prevent possible damage to the globe, such as breaking or cracking it.

  • Patent number: 4666311
Abstract: A chronograph watch comprises a first motor controlled by a quartz resonator coupled to a first simple integrated circuit. This motor drives, through gearing, the time indicating members of the watch. A second motor controlled by a second quartz resonator coupled to a second simple integrated circuit, identical to said first integrated circuit, can be operated at a higher frequency when a switch, which is operable manually by means of a pushbutton and interposed between electrical ground and a terminal of the second integrated circuit, is open. The second motor drives, through further gearing, a chronograph hand coupled to a minute counter and to an hour counter. Thus the chronograph indicates fractions of seconds without the timepiece requiring expensive circuits or having an excessive electrical power consumption.

  • Patent number: 4665607
Abstract: A machine comprises on the one hand a mechanical working device, for working sheet material by pressing or stamping, and on the other hand a laser working device. The mechanical working device comprises a gantry hydraulic press comprising a frame, a table, an hydraulic press ram and a slide member. Several tools are stored in a storage device from which they are brought, on rails, up to the axis of the press by means of a jack. The laser working device comprises a resonator producing a laser beam which is conducted up to the axis of the press through a tube and by a reflecting mirror located on the axis of the slide member. When the laser cutting head is not in service it is retracted within one of the columns of the frame of the press, a jack producing the displacement of the cutting head. This equipment enables the carrying out, on a common axis of working, of either mechanical punching, cutting, folding, cumbering and pressing operations, or working by means of the laser.

  • Patent number: 4664251
Abstract: An elevating conveyor having a first endless belt entrained around a plurality of spaced support or guide drums for elevating material through an elevating section to a discharge station and a second endless loading belt also entrained around guide drums to cooperate with the first belt at least where a loading station and the elevating section merge so that in this vicinity the belts are in overlying relationship with each other so that material on the upper surface of one belt is held on the surface by the other belt. The two belts are moved at similar speeds in the same direction and a fixed plate cooperates with the first belt in the elevating section so that material located between the belt and plate is elevated to the discharge station by upward movement of the first belt through the elevating section. The conveyor may be of C, L or Z shape and the first belt preferably has upstanding side walls, the top faces of which bear against low friction material supported on the plate.

  • Patent number: 4662150
Abstract: Apparatus for facilitating the manual erection and loading of a partially assembled paperboard carton blank. The machine includes a work table on which the carton blank is manipulated selectively to open the blank and close the bottom thereof by utilizing a vacuum system for selectively restraining major flaps forming the bottom wall of the carton. The opened carton blank remains immobilized on the work table for loading through the open upper end thereof. The major and minor flaps at said upper end then can be folded manually to close the loaded carton, after which the vacuum system can be deactivated to permit sliding of the loaded carton into a takeaway apparatus which can be a taping or sealing device or a conveyor for transporting the loaded carton to a remote work station, such as, for sealing. The table top may be pivotal.

  • Patent number: 4662702
Abstract: An electric contact comprising a first conductive metal layer on a surface of a plastic layer and a second springiness metal layer on the opposite side of the plastic layer. The first and second metal layers consist of a plurality of metal stripes in parallel with each other in alignment with each other, respectively. Terminal elements of the metal stripes comprises on one sides or on both sides thereof wire positioning walls to facilitate soldering of wires to the terminal elements. By foldering portions of the terminal elements so as to expose the conductive metal layers, the soldering of the wires to the terminal elements are further facilitated. Even if distances between the opposite metal stripes attached to a connector housing are not uniform, the multi contacts are uniformly in contact with each other when connectors are connected.

  • Patent number: 4658548
Abstract: A unitary extruded weatherstrip for doors and the like including a flexible loop having a floating bulb therewithin connected to the wall of the loop and functioning as a secondary seal. The floating bulb under compression, prevents collapse of the loop inward or outward to provide an effective seal. The failure of the weaterstrip outwardly to collapse prevents its protrusion past the face of the door whereby to retain the aesthetic appearance of the installation. The same weatherstrip configuration can be employed on both the hinge and the lockside portions of the frame as well as along the header thereof. A rigid depending portion flange can be provided as a part of the weatherstrip extrusion to permit installation into the saw-kerf of wood door frames, for example, without requiring special tools.
