Abstract: A removable cap assembly maintains a cap having a curved side wall with an inner surface and an outer surface, a top portion extending from the curved side wall, a boss extending perpendicularly from the top portion, and a circumferential rib extending perpendicularly from the top of the boss. The boss and rib define an opening in the cap. A stopper, dimensioned to seal the opening, has a hole therein configured to allow a fluid to flow through. The stopper is maintained in the cap by the boss. The stopper includes a sealing surface flange and a cylindrical wall portion. The sealing surface flange receives the bottom edge of the boss. A sealing ring is formed separately from the stopper and is configured to fit against an inside surface of the top portion of the cap. A stopper lock is configured to press against the stopper, sealing surface flange and the sealing ring, sealing them against the inside of the cap. The stopper lock locks in place against the boss of the cap.

Abstract: A method is provided for producing a superconductive electrical conductor (7) in which a layer of an yttrium-barium-copper oxide (YBCO) is applied as a superconductive material onto a textured metal base directly or after prior application of a buffer layer, and is subjected to a heat treatment. To this end an interlayer of a metallic material which is compatible with the crystal structure of YBCO, or with the structure of a buffer layer suitable for the application of YBCO, is initially applied all around onto an elongate metal support (1). The support (1) provided with the interlayer is subsequently processed so that predetermined texturing is imparted to the interlayer as a metal base for the layer of YBCO material or for the buffer layer. The layer of superconductive YBCO material is then applied all around, directly onto the textured interlayer or onto the buffer layer previously applied thereon, and the heat treatment is finally carried out.
Abstract: A communications system provides a bill for services provided to a user of the system, to a display device via a network. The display device may be a personal computer and the network may be the Internet, for example. A plurality of users may be parties to an account with the system and an indicator of the one of the plurality of users requesting a service may be associated with an entry in the bill for the requested service. A bill for communications services requested by a first party with respect to a second party may include an indicator, such as a name and/or location information, of the second party. The user may also have an option of receiving a bill without indicators. Information about a second party associated with a requested service may be transferred to a contacts folder maintained by the communications system. Methods and systems are disclosed.

The lower end of the baffle portion is coupled to a side wall of the clarifier tank and the upper end of the baffle portion is disposed, at a predefined angle, away from the side wall of the clarifier tank such that the first baffle portion slopes upwardly and away from the side wall.
Abstract: An apparatus for signal and/or current transmission between terminals which can move in relation to one another and which are fitted, on the one hand, on a fixed stator and, on the other hand, on a rotor of a cassette that can rotate about a common axis with the stator. At least one flat ribbon cable, which is equipped with electrical conductors, runs in turns and forms a wound body (W), is arranged within the cassette between the terminals, the ends of the flat ribbon cable being connected to contact parts (19, 20) for the purpose of connecting ongoing cables. In order to accommodate the complete wound body (W) for its protection during transport and/or during storage, a pot-like cover (22) is provided which engages around said wound body and is fitted detachably to an essentially disc-shaped carrier (21).
Abstract: A method of fabricating a light duct includes making the light duct as a single piece by injection molding a thermoplastic material in a mold (1) presenting a cavity of shape identical to that of the duct, the injection taking place through a feed orifice disposed on one side of said cavity over a face that is substantially parallel to the plane defined by axes (A-A?, B-B?), the feed orifice presenting a height h lying in the range 0.2 Hmax and Hmax, and a length l lying in the range 0.2 Lmoy and 0.8 Lmoy, the thermoplastic material being injected at a rate lying in the range 400 mm3/s to 1500 mm3/s.
Abstract: In a mobile communication system having an ATM-processed transfer path, a non-instantaneous interrupt handover can be realized. In a mobile communication network including an ATM-processed transfer path, when a mobile station is moved between cells during communication, frames are received to be identified by a mobile switching center. The frames contain the same data received from both base stations covering the cell range at asynchronous timing different from each other. A selection is made of header information with the lowest error rate from the header information of these frames. The frames are connected at instructed timing. Also, the frames to be transmitted to a plurality of base stations are duplicated, and then transmission timing is specified from these header information. These duplicated frames are transmitted at the specified transmission timing, so that the non-instantaneous interrupt handover is carried out.

Abstract: A service providing information assistance may maintain for a subscriber contacts folders comprising private directories of the subscriber, and a personal profile containing the subscriber's preferences. When a user calls the service to attempt to communicate with a desired party through the service, the service can ascertain whether the desired party has a personal profile and/or a contacts folder associated with him/her. If so, the caller is allowed to communicate with the desired party on the terms and conditions defined by the desired party in his/her personal profile and/or contacts folder. For instance, the desired party may have defined therein who should be allowed to contact him/her, when he/she should be contacted, by what communication means, and whether the caller can be told any of the desired party's communication addresses (e.g., telephone number, email address, etc.).

Abstract: A communication assistance system has a first database having a plurality of listings therein, each having at least one contact name and a corresponding contact number. A device is configured to receive a directory assistance communication from a device of a user requesting at least one listing. A past requested listing table for at least one of said users is configured to store prior requested listings obtained from the database, as previously requested by the user. The past requested listing table is generated by the system and transmitted for storage on the device of the user so that when the user contacts the system, with the at least one listing stored on the past requested listing table being masked, the system may allow a communication connection between the device and the listing on the past requested listing table.

Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical connection structure for a superconductor element cooled by a cryogenic fluid and connected to an electrical bushing, which bushing passes successively through an enclosure at an intermediate temperature between ambient temperature and the temperature of the cryogenic fluid, and an enclosure at ambient temperature, said bushing projecting outside the ambient temperature enclosure. According to the invention, said intermediate enclosure is filled at least in part with a solid material of low thermal conductivity, such as a polyurethane foam or a cellular glass foam. The invention is applicable to connecting a superconductor cable at cryogenic temperature to a device for equipment at ambient temperature.
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, when a user makes an information assistance call to an information/call center requesting a listing, the user can make arrangements for various services relating to the requested listing in the same call. These services may be presented to an operator as options, and in turn presented to the user for selection. However, the options undesired by the user, based on personal preferences stored in a personal profile, or unsupported by the telephone service to which the user subscribes are not presented to the operator and thus not made available to the user. If the user is interested in any of the available options, the operator accesses the selected option and makes an appropriate arrangement for the underlying service for the user.
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical bushing serving to make a connection at ambient temperature to a superconductor element situated in an enclosure at cryogenic temperature. The electrical bushing passes successively through an enclosure at intermediate temperature between ambient temperature and cryogenic temperature, and an enclosure at ambient temperature, and it comprises a central electrical conductor surrounded by an electrically insulating sheath. According to the invention, an electrically conductive screen connected to ground potential surrounds the insulating sheath over a section that extends from the end of the bushing that is in contact with the enclosure at cryogenic temperature at least as far as the junction between the enclosure at intermediate temperature and the enclosure at ambient temperature. The invention is more particularly applicable to making a connection to a superconductor cable.
