  • Patent number: 7789158
Abstract: A flow control system includes a pump positioned in a well to remove liquid from the well. A check valve is positioned in the well and includes an open position and a closed position. The check valve in the open position allows gas from a producing formation of the well to flow past the check valve, while the check valve in the closed position substantially reduces gas flow at the pump from the producing formation. A compressed gas source is in fluid communication with the well to provide compressed gas to move the check valve to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 7792046
Abstract: A network data monitoring device provides for the flexible, programmable port-to-multi-port steering of data packet traffic between network port pairs, with tap data streams being directed to any of a plurality of monitor ports. The network data monitoring device is constructed utilizing one or more switching integrated circuits programmed to disable layer-2 routing and impose port-to-multiport data packet steering. Physical layer protocol encoding/decoding circuits enable connectivity to physical network media connectors though a system of fail-safe relays. A system controller, preferably implemented by a microprocessor, is connected to all switching integrated circuits and relays for configuration, status and control. Hardware-based logic selectively in complement to the switching integrated circuits provides for the programmable filtering, modification and programmable steering of data packets through the device.

  • Patent number: 7787038
Abstract: A CMOS image sensor is disclosed which can achieve reduction of the voltage used to read out signal charge and can achieve expansion of the dynamic range. A P-well region is formed on a semiconductor substrate, and an embedded photodiode, a transfer transistor, an amplification transistor, a selection transistor, a reset transistor, a floating diffusion and so forth are provided in the P-well region. Signal charge of the photodiode is transferred to the floating diffusion by operation of the transfer transistor. A substrate bias voltage in the form of a negative voltage is applied to the P-well region in synchronism with the charge transfer operation of the transfer transistor to control the potential balance between the photodiode and the transfer gate portion to reduce the voltage for charge transfer. Further, during charge storage of the photodiode, the substrate bias voltage is varied to modify the angle of the sensitivity curve to achieve expansion of the dynamic range.

  • Patent number: 7786921
Abstract: In a solid-state imaging device with an AD converter mounted on the same chip, to enable an efficient product-sum operation while reducing the size of the circuit scale and the number of transmission signal lines. A pixel signal during an n-row readout period is compared with a reference signal for digitizing this pixel signal, and a counting operation is performed in one of a down-counting mode and an up-counting mode while the comparison processing is being performed, and then, the count value when the comparison processing is finished is stored. Subsequently, by using the n-row counting result as the initial value, a pixel signal during an (n+1)-row readout period is compared with the reference signal for digitizing this pixel signal, and also, the counting operation is performed in one of the down-counting mode and the up-counting mode, and then, the count value when the comparison processing is finished is stored.
