  • Patent number: 5463434
Abstract: A video projector has first and second projector devices and a display screen. The first projector device is used to project a plurality of first image elements to be perceived by, for example, the right eye of a viewer. The second projector device is used to project a plurality of second image elements to be perceived by, for example, the left eye of the viewer. The first image elements from the first liquid crystal projector device and the second image elements from the second liquid crystal projector device are projected on the display screen. The size of image elements projected on a liquid crystal display panel is adjusted so that the adjacent image elements do not overlap with each other. As a result, interference between adjacent picture elements is substantially eliminated and thus the image quality is improved.

  • Patent number: 5461192
Abstract: An electronic musical instrument with an automatic accompaniment function has a plurality of registration data corresponding to an accompaniment patterns, and a registration can be selected from the plurality of registration data corresponding to the selected and designated accompaniment pattern. The registration data represents a set of data such as the tone color, tone volume, effect, and the like of musical tones, for defining a performance environment. A plurality of accompaniment patterns are prepared for each style. When an accompaniment pattern is changed, the registration is changed in correspondence with the changed accompaniment pattern. Furthermore, when an accompaniment pattern is changed between different pattern groups, the registration is changed. When an accompaniment pattern is changed in one pattern group, the registration is left unchanged. The pattern group is a group of a plurality of similar accompaniment patterns.

  • Patent number: 5459629
Abstract: In a combined magnetic head of the present invention, a slider (20) for holding a combined magnetic core (10) has a couple of anti-slant noses (25) whose confronting surfaces each include an abutment ridge (26) extending along the height of the anti-slant nose and intended to be abutted against the combined magnetic core which has been inserted into a core slit (22) of the slider. This construction enables the interval between the couple of noses to be accurately adjusted in conformity with the thickness of the combined magnetic core at the time of integral molding of the slider. As a result, a secure prevention of the slant of the combined magnetic core can be accomplished to ensure an accurate positioning of the combined magnetic core with respect to the slider.

  • Patent number: 5459281
Abstract: A CPU extracts a specified number of tones, in order of lower pitch from among notes of pressed keys and then determines a chord based on the specified tones so that a musical relationship can be established between the tones corresponding to the depressed keys and the generated chord, thus eliminating incongruity in the performance. In addition, since the chord detection is made based on the specified number of tones, there is no need to play all the constituent notes of the chord. Moreover, by storing chord pattern abbreviations in chord table memory, chords are detected in the manner that of frequently occurring abbreviated chord patterns are prioritized over infrequently occurring chord patterns.

  • Patent number: 5458038
Abstract: A foot pedal, particularly as used for the bass drum of a drum set, is fundamentally constructed of a heel member, a foot board, a beater, a frame member and a base plate. The heel member supports one edge portion of the foot board so that the foot board can freely rotate about the supporting point. In response to operation of the foot board by the performer, the beater is moved to beat the drum head of bass drum, so that the bass drum sounds are produced. The beater is supported by the frame member so that it can freely rotate about the supporting point. The frame member has a vertical portion which extends along with the rotation direction of the foot board. An edge portion of the base plate is fixed to the heel member, while an opposite edge portion is fixed to the vertical portion of the frame member by a connecting mechanism, so that the base plate is assembled with the heel member and frame member in the predetermined positional relationship.

  • Patent number: 5457070
Abstract: A field insulating film and a gate insulating film are formed on the surface of a semiconductor substrate, and thereafter contact holes for a source and drain are formed in the gate insulating film. Polycrystalline Si containing impurities are deposited on the substrate and patterned to form source, gate, and drain electrode layers. The source and drain regions are formed by implanting impurity ions and doping the impurities in the source and drain electrode layers to the substrate surface. An interlayer insulating film having a flat surface is thereafter formed on the substrate, and contact holes are formed in the interlayer insulating film by selective etching. The etching depths of the contact holes are generally the same, preventing an excessive etching of the contact hole for the gate electrode.

  • Patent number: 5457650
Abstract: A semiconductor memory includes memory cells, word lines, bit lines, a row decoder, column decoder, a voltage-changing circuit, a sense amplifier, and an output circuit. Each memory cell stores multi-level data. The row decoder selects one of the word lines in accordance with an address signal. The voltage-changing circuit generates different voltages, which are applied to the row decoder. The different voltages are sequentially applied from the voltage-changing circuit to the word line selected by the row decoder. The column decoder selects a bit line every time the potential of the word line changes. The sense amplifier detects the data read from the memory cell onto the bit line every time the potential of the word line changes. The output circuit converts the data to code data.
