  • Patent number: 5397258
Abstract: A inflatable raft having multiple inflation members formed into a polygonal shape wherein the panel segments include inner and outer flaps which form an overlap or closing seam wherein the outer flap includes an extended outer flap segment to form a modular member for interconnection with respect to a raft floor or cover apparatus. The extended outer flap segment also facilitates heat sealing for securement of a cover, canopy or floor with respect to an inflatable polygonal construction. The configuration of the polygonal inflatable raft with the extended outer flap segment can be used singly to form a flotation raft or can be used doubly to form an invertible inflation raft apparatus or a canopy covered inflatable raft apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5354029
Abstract: The present invention comprises a quick release tank support bracket having a positive locking engagement along with an optional operative seat back supportive assembly which includes support bars mounted with a frame with clamp arms secured to the support bars. At least two such support bars are included with at least one or more clamp arms secured thereto. The clamp arms are movable between a closed position for retaining of a tank therein and an opened position for releasing of the tank therefrom. Each of the support bars includes a crank arm which is interconnected by an inner engagement device for controlling cooperative relative movement of the two clamp arms with respect to one another. Closure lugs are positioned integral with the clamping arms and extend inwardly and include tank engaging surfaces such that when the tank is inserted into place by pushing horizontally toward the backing plate, the clamping arms and the support rods will automatically move to the tank retaining position.

  • Patent number: 5353482
Abstract: A releasable latching apparatus having a monitoring means for electrically indicating whether the latching apparatus is in the engaged or disengaged positions. The apparatus includes a main housing with a tab member selectively engageable therewith. A trigger member is pivotally mounted upon a trigger pin which in turn is pivotally mounted in the main housing. The trigger member is selectively engageable with the tab member for engaging or releasing thereof with respect to the main housing. An ejector member is movable between an engagement position and a released position responsive to whether the tab member is engaged to the trigger member. The ejector includes an ejector pin extending outwardly therefrom through an ejector pin opening defined in the main housing to selectively contact the switch lever of a switch which is affixedly secured to the exterior of the main housing.

  • Patent number: 5324042
Abstract: A lawn game apparatus including a bag-like throwing member used to be thrown at a target member defining a plurality of target zones therein. The bag-like throwing member includes an internal chamber with loose pelletized filler material to provide weight to facilitate throwing of the bag-like member. The bag-like member includes a hook and loop interconnecting securement means on one end thereof adapted to engage other hook and loop securement sections within the specific target zones to facilitate securement thereto and for scoring of the game. The bag-like throwing member includes two sides both of flexible material with only one side coated with the hook and loop interengagement means to facilitate formation of game strategies and enhance game play.

  • Patent number: 5314325
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous vacuum forming of a hot plasticized material such as vinyl onto a moving flat forming surface defined between a first and second roller member which are continuously rotatable with a flexibly resilient belt and a woven flexible support belt extending therearound. The upper belt is of a flexibly rubber material and the lower belt is of an open woven metallic material to allow air to be drawn therethrough. These belts pass through a flat forming station positioned between two rollers against which vacuum forming is performed. A flexibly resilient pattern form is defined on the flexibly resilient belt including a plurality of vacuum apertures therein such that as the pattern form passes through the flat forming station a vacuum is applied through the woven support belt and to the apertures defined in the form to draw down the hot plasticized material onto the pattern form for continuous vacuum forming.

  • Patent number: 5293840
Abstract: An animal restraining jacket having openings in the abdominal, neck and arm areas along with a longitudinally extending slit to facilitate placement of the jacket upon a laboratory animal and securement thereon by attaching of a main fastening device which extends along the slit such as a zipper. A flap is positioned on the exterior of the jacket to define a pocket between the jacket and the flap and an access slot is defined in the jacket within the pocket to facilitate communication of a medical device such as a blood catheter from the pocket through the jacket to the interior area for direct access to the laboratory animal. The pocket includes a fastening device such as a zipper which is adapted to close the pocket to prevent infection or tissue damage resulting from an animal scratching or otherwise mishandling of the medical device such as the blood catheter. A cover flap is adapted to extend over the longitudinally extending fastening zipper to prevent tampering thereof by the laboratory animal.

  • Patent number: 5291817
Abstract: An apparatus for varying the length of the barrel of a woodwind musical instrument by providing adjustability in the length thereof which includes two tubular members which are telescopingly movable with respect to one another and include a primary gear rack mounted on the second tubular member and a rotatably movable adjustment wheel mounted on the first tubular member with a gear fixedly secured to the adjustment wheel and in engagement with respect to the teeth of the primary gear rack such that movement of the adjustment wheel will cause movement of the primary gear rack and relative movement between the first and second tubular member for adjusting or tuning of the length between the first and second tubular members. Each tubular member defines a bore extending centrally therealong which is coincident on the same longitudinally extending bore axis. A locking device is included for selectively fixedly securing the first and second tubular members with respect to one another as desired.
