  • Patent number: 7953529
Abstract: The present invention provides a scheme for determining an abnormality of an intake air system with higher accuracy in an engine an intake air amount is controlled by adjusting a lift amount of an intake valve. A throttle opening area is determined based on a current intake air amount. A feedback correction is performed on the throttle opening area. The feedback correction includes determining a correction amount of the throttle opening area such that the gauge pressure inside the intake manifold converges to a desired gauge pressure and then adding the correction amount to the throttle opening area. A feedback control is performed on an air-fuel ratio. The feedback control includes determining a correction amount of the air-fuel ratio based on a detection value of an air-fuel ratio detecting means provided in an exhaust manifold.

  • Patent number: 7951185
Abstract: Methods and systems of delivering a stent at an elevated temperature are disclosed herein. Methods of delivering a stent include allowing reactants to react within a delivery system exothermically. The heat generated from the exothermic reaction increase a temperature of a stent mounted on a support member. The increase in temperature increases the flexibility of the stent which reduces or eliminates formation of cracks in the stent when it expands. A system can include a first reactant disposed within at least a portion of the support member, a catheter in fluid communication with the support member, or both. The first reactant being disposed in such a way to react exothermically with a second reactant disposed within the delivery system.

  • Patent number: 7949458
Abstract: A control apparatus capable of ensuring high control accuracy even if a controlled object is in a transient state, when a control input is calculated based on a value obtained by correcting a value calculated by a feedforward control method using a value calculated by a feedback control method. The control apparatus calculates a fuel correction coefficient such that an output from an oxygen concentration sensor converges to a target output, and multiplies a basic injection amount by the coefficient to calculate a fuel injection amount. The basic injection amount is selected from three values according to the cause of a mapping error. Two of them are calculated by searching respective maps according to corrected throttle valve opening values and engine speed. The other is calculated by multiplying a value obtained by searching a map according to the opening and the speed by a correction coefficient.

  • Patent number: 7948198
Abstract: Increasing in size of a reaction force cancel system is suppressed. The reaction force cancel system is provided in a stage device including: a surface plate having a plurality of plate surfaces with different heights from each other, and installed on a floor via a vibration-isolating spring; and stages disposed on the plate surfaces respectively, and moving on the plate surfaces, and cancels reaction forces generated on the surface plate upon movements of the stages. In addition, the reaction force cancel system includes a first and a second reaction force canceling actuator that apply counter-thrusts to the surface plate, and a control section that controls the magnitudes of the counter-thrusts. In the reaction force cancel system, the heights of action points of counter-thrusts in the surface plate are different from each other, and the control section controls the counter-thrusts so as to counterbalance the reaction forces as resultant forces and resultant moments.
