Abstract: In an embodiment, a system and method for automatically converting a plurality of events in a plurality of channels in a structured representation sequence into haptic events. The method comprises calculating an event score for each event of the sequence in one or more channels. The method also comprises calculating a cumulative score based on the event scores in the one or more channels. The method includes selectively designating haptic events to the events based on the event scores in one or more selected channels, wherein the haptic events are output by a haptic actuator. This may be done by the system by calculating properties of the sound or by taking already existing values associated with those properties to efficiently produce haptic events.

Abstract: An object is to reduce the axial dimension of an injection apparatus, melt a molding material uniformly, and improve the quality of molded products. A screw (20) comprises a plasticizing portion which comprises a body portion (45a) and a flight (53) projectingly formed on an outer circumferential surface of the body portion (45a). A groove-depth setting region is defined over a predetermined section of the plasticizing portion, and in the groove-depth setting region, the ratio ?1 of a groove depth ?1 to a diameter ?1 of pellets of a molding material falls within the range of 1??1?1.5 where the groove depth ?1 is a depth of a groove (67) formed along the flight (53). In the groove (67), pellets are arranged laterally and caused to advance while rolling along the groove (67). Since the pellets do not aggregate, no solid bed is formed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, apparatus, and computer program product, wherein frequency co-variances or correlations of a measured power delay profile or frequency correlation function are estimated at two different non-zero sub-carrier lags of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing channel. A ratio of squared magnitudes of the two estimated frequency co-variances is calculated and a delay spread or coherence bandwidth of said channel is estimated based on the calculated ratio.
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program is presented for use in a radio transmitter using a polar transmitter structure in which a transmission signal is separated into an amplitude component and a phase component. The transmission signal includes transmission symbols distributed to a number of transmission resource blocks allocated to the radio transmitter for transmission. The amplitude component of the transmission signal is low-pass filtered in a low-pass filter configured by filtering parameters selected according to the number of transmission resource blocks allocated to the radio transmitter. Then, the low-pass filtered amplitude component is used in power supply of a power amplifier configured to power-amplify a phase component of the transmission signal.

Abstract: Apparatus and method are disclosed for converting an internal combustion engine from a normal engine operation (20) to an engine braking (or retarding) operation (10). The apparatus has an actuation means (100) containing two braking pistons (160) slidably disposed in the valve bridge (400) between an inoperative position (0) and an operative position (1). The apparatus also has a flow control valve (50) for supplying control fluid to the actuation means (100) with two levels of pressure. At the first level or lower pressure, the braking pistons (160) will stay in the inoperative position (0), and a gap (234) is formed between the valve bridge (400) and the exhaust valves (300) to skip the motion from the lower portion of the cam (230) for the normal engine operation (20).
