Abstract: The disclosed faulted current indicator senses current in a line having a breaker or fuse, and avoids tripping in response to current inrush signals by producing a trip signal in response to an overcurrent occurring for an overcurrent duration which is inversely related to the magnitude of the overcurrent and is faster than the overcurrent operating time of the breaker or fuse. In one embodiment, this involves operating a current protection device in response to an overcurrent occurring for a second overcurrent duration inversely related to the magnitude of the overcurrent according to a first characteristic, and adjusting the first overcurrent duration to follow a second characteristic having variations substantially the same as the first characteristic but having a shorter first overcurrent duration than the second overcurrent duration.
Abstract: In the disclosed outdoor lighting control, angular reflectors (52) direct vertical light passing through a translucent dome (38) onto a vertically oriented photocell (24) and a rigid vertically-adjustable sheet (54) between the photocell and the reflectors regulates the operating point of the photocell. The backs of the reflectors, and a socket (14) projecting vertically from a base (12) under the dome, shield the vertical photocell from horizontal light.
Abstract: Apparatus for the manufacture of integrated circuits using holographic techniques in which a holographic image formed on a first recording medium provided on a glass slab is replayed by being scanned in order to reproduce an image of the holographic image on a second recording medium provided on a silicon slice. The replay source provides a a collimated narrow circular beam or elongated beam which passes normally through a face of the prism, through an index matching liquid located between the prism and the glass slab before being totally internally reflected at the other surface of the glass slab. The collimated replay beam provides control over the effective numerical aperture thus preventing wide angle radiation from degrading the quality of the printed image.

Abstract: An automatic toll collector for a toll road includes a cashbox receiving a toll thrown into a toll receiving inlet. Trigger holes, address holes and identification number holes are disposed on the bottom surface of the cashbox in a predetermined pattern in an insertion direction of the cashbox and are detected by proximity sensors disposed in the direction perpendicular to the insertion direction of the cashbox to recognize the identification number of the cashbox. Since the identification number is recognized by the correspondence between data of the address holes and data of the identification number, the identification number can be recognized exactly even if the cashbox is retried to be inserted several times.
Abstract: A control system of an industrial robot includes an operation program read out from a storage medium and stored and calculated to obtain data so that a robot machine is controlled on the basis of the data. An external memory has function of a conventional internal memory and it is limited to store one program in, for example, an IC card constituting the storage medium and the IC card is inserted into the external memory to supply the operation program. A plurality of operation programs are previously stored in, for example, a floppy disk device constituting a recording medium of the external memory and a desired program is selected by a keyboard to directly supply it to the controller of the robot to operate the robot.

Abstract: A balance mechanism of an industrial robot is provided with a first balance mechanism for a first arm which is swingably mounted to a stand of the robot and a second balance mechanism for a second arm which is swingably mounted to a distal end of the first arm. The first balance mechanism includes a flexible coupling device such as, for example, a chain, led through a guide, which couples between a coupling element of a coupling member which is mounted to a center of angular movement of a proximal end of the first arm and a spring having one end fixed to the stand and which is moved in the direction of deformation when the first arm is angularly moved. The second balance mechanism includes a counterbalancer disposed in the opposite side to an operation side of the second arm and a center of angular movement of the second arm constitutes a fulcrum. The balance mechanisms can be applied to the robot without exchanging parts greatly even if the robot is installed in any position.
Abstract: In a coin discriminator which compares a reference value to impedance magnitude variations induced by a coin, a phase detector detects the phases of the impedance variations and compares them with a standard to discriminate between the coins.
