  • Patent number: 4956966
Abstract: A header frame for a combine includes a mounting frame which is attached to the front end of the feeder housing of the combine and a header frame. The header frame is mounted on the mounting frame by suitable linkage so that it can lift in a vertical direction and also can twist about an axis parallel to the forward direction of the combine to allow the header frame to follow ground contours. A flexible pan is connected between the header frame and the mounting frame to define a lower surface of the header immediately in front of the mouth of the feeder housing with the pan having a forward edge attached to the header frame and a rearward edge attached to the mounting frame with the movement therebetween being accommodated by flexing or sliding of one mounting of the pan. In one arrangement of the header, the conventional auger is replaced by two side drapers and a feed draper with the feed draper being mounted in a manner which allows limited vertical movement away from the pan.

  • Patent number: 4955321
Abstract: The feeding of pigs or other animals is improved by the provision of a tray member which sits underneath the conventional feeder trough and extends out in the front edge of the trough so the material dropped by the animal over the front edge in the feeding action tends to collect on the tray rather than be wasted. The tray has upstanding ribs which define compartments in the area on which the feed falls to maintain the feed in place and to allow feeding of specialized materials.

  • Patent number: 4949880
Abstract: When dispensing unhomogenized materials from bottles such as those containing some salad dressings, mint sauce and the like, it is difficult to obtain a portion thereof with the correct proportions of the unmixed ingredients even though they are shaken before dispensing, because of the rapid settlement of the heavier fraction or fractions. The present device consists of a small cylinder insertable in or formed integrally with the bottle neck and having a vertical web dividing the neck into two chambers, one chamber being open at the upper and lower ends and the other being closed at the base and open at the top to communicate with the top portion of the first chamber. When the cap is secured to the top of the bottle neck, the contents can be shaken whereupon the bottle is inverted so that the contents flow through the first chamber and fill the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 4945715
Abstract: A bale bagging apparatus for bagging round bales in tubes of plastic film includes a hoop and an annular flexible tube support projecting to the rear of the hoop. The tube support conforms to the shape and size of the bales being bagged, so that a tubing may be used that is fairly close in size to the size of the bales. This reduces the amount of air inside the bag and the ultimate looseness of the bagging tube on the bale, which affects its wind resistance and allows the bagging of bales in smaller tubes, which significantly reduces the cost of plastic film.

  • Patent number: 4943080
Abstract: A control device is mounted on the tongue of a drawn implement, normally an implement that extends to one side of the tongue. The control device includes a strut that is mounted on the tongue of the towed implement and projects laterally from the tongue, to the side away from the projection of the implement itself. A stabilizer tongue is slideably connected to the strut and is connected at its front end to a second, rigid hitch beside the hitch for the implement tongue. Springs act between the strut and the stabilizing tongue to resist movement of the stabilizing tongue with respect to the strut. The control device balances the tendency of the offset implement to move laterally when towed and improves its steering characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4943221
Abstract: A clam shell rotational moulding machine of a type including a housing having a base portion with a flat base and four upstanding sides and a cover portion with a top and four depending sides can be moved from a fully closed position in which the top and base co-operate to form an enclosed housing to an open position in which the cover portion is lifted and a front one of the side walls of the base is opened to a horizontal position above a pivot axis across the bottom of the front wall. A spindle arm assembly normally mounted during the moulding process within the housing and extending into the housing through the side walls can be moved from the normal position to an unloading position. The spindle arm assembly is mounted upon a cantilever arrangement carried by a rigid frame mounted on the front door. Opening of the front door thus moves the spindle arm assembly and attached moulds to the unload position substantially vertically above the horizontal surface of the front door.

  • Patent number: 4934091
Abstract: A fishing device comprises a rod formed in two rod portions connectable at a center position by a coil spring attached to both of the rod portions. The coil spring is wrapped around the upper portion and is releasably attached to a cap on the lower portion which is of a larger diameter. A battery, speaker and fishing line are mounted on the lower portion. A hook is mounted on the upper portion at a position spaced from the upper end. A simple spring steel arm is fastened to one side of the lower portion and projects out beyound the end of the lower portion to position alongside the coil spring. With the fishing line attached to the hook on the upper portion, when the fishing line is pulled it distorts the upper portion and thus bends the spring into contact with the spring arm and this causes the completion of a circuit connecting the battery to the speaker. A spike at the lower end of the lower portion can be inserted into the ice adjacent an ice fishing hole.
