  • Patent number: 7721699
Abstract: A Calibrated Air Intake Tract for Internal Combustion Engine is disclosed. The intake includes a Mass Airflow Sensor section that defines an inner diameter that differs from the diameter of the overall intake air tract piping. The Mass Airflow Sensor length and diameter are precision-tuned in order to provide the best engine performance without the typical “check engine” light being lit due to faulty mass airflow sensor readings. In those vehicles where necessary, an insert of the appropriate size and in the proper location is added to the interior wall of the MAFS section in order to correct final fuel trim level inadequacies.

  • Patent number: 7716383
Abstract: A Flash-interfaced Fingerprint Sensor is disclosed. The sensor device interfaces directly with a flash memory interface chip. The flash memory interface chip incorporates the system for interfacing with flash memory devices, a fingerprint sensor/detector system, and an encryption subsystem for encrypting data being passed to and from the flash memory devices and the host computing device. The device further employs an advanced encryption approach that entails fingerprint decryption and verification on the host computer rather than on the portable memory apparatus. Once verification at the host computer is complete, memory and host functionality is enabled.

  • Patent number: 7587838
Abstract: A Framing Rafter Square Attachment. The attachment cooperates with a conventional rafter or framing square to make the repetitive cutting of lengths of framing lumber (such as for blocking) much easier and faster to accomplish. The attachment allows the position of the framing square as held by the attachment to be adjustable so that it can accommodate a wide variety of circular saw fence configuration. The attachment is extendable and retractable so that the attachment has both a compact size for storage, while at the same time being able to accommodate longer cuts. A drag clip may be provided to allow the user to selectively pinch a piece of wood with the attachment so that the pinched piece of wood can then be repositioned for another cut without the user having to set down either the circular saw or the attachment. Finally, the attachment has a subassembly that allows the user to easily cut a piece of lumber to fit a preexisting length or opening.

  • Patent number: 7562169
Abstract: A Video and Audio Front End Assembly and Method. The device and method of this invention takes advantage of the hardware improvements available in personal computing machines that enable higher speed bus communications and much greater computational capacity. The system converts many of the processes needed to convert analog video and audio inputs so that they are displayable by a personal computer from a hardware integrated circuit to a set of software routines. The system combines a simplified hardware front-end interface between the computer and the analog input signals and a very flexible set of software applications running on the host computer. The hardware front end employs an integrated circuit device that is much lower in complexity and cost than the conventional audio/video decoder integrated circuit.

  • Patent number: 7536457
Abstract: Driving events are captured at an event detector in a vehicle and stored in an associated data storage area. The output of a sensor in the vehicle is monitored, and the stored driving event data is sent to an evaluation server over a wireless communication network when a data transfer condition is detected. Driving event data is sent to the evaluation server when a predetermined output from the sensor is detected and the vehicle is in the transmission range of an access point. The predetermined sensor output may be from a motion sensor in the vehicle indicating that the vehicle is substantially stopped, or from a vehicle location sensor indicating that the vehicle is within transmission range of an access point.

  • Patent number: 7472193
Abstract: A Method and System for Parallel Operation and Control of Legacy Computer Clusters is disclosed. Also disclosed is a system that permits the creation of a cluster computer using the legacy operating systems already existing on the computing devices. The system is further be able to seamlessly operate over a standard wide are network, such as the “Internet,” as well as over local area networks. The system further permits the individual computers to operate either as part of the cluster, or on local operations, without any need for modification to the other computers involved in the cluster. Still further, the system utilizes standard TCP/IP format for all internodal messaging. Also, the system maintains performance “grades” for each cluster node, either by node self-grading, or by node reporting, such that the user can select which nodes to participate in a particular parallel application.

The cover has an open bottom surface to enable it to be most easily donned and doffed from the shoe. The cover further has a plurality of apertures dispersed on its bottom surface through which cleats can pass when the cover is installed. A version of the cover is provided that reaches to up the wearer's calf area. Another cover is disclosed as having a cushioned area over the laces of the shoe to prevent bruising when the user presses the top of the foot against a rigid object. Finally, a version of the cover is provided that has a reinforced tip portion, such as for soccer players.

  • Patent number: 7441514
Abstract: The device is a Pet Dish for holding Disposable Liners. The dish is durable and washable, but the liner can be disposable, in a form that is conventionally available from a number of pre-existing supply sources. The dish is aesthetically pleasing. The dish and liners cooperate so that the liner inserted into the dish will not inadvertently be forced out by the eating pet, nor should the liner be allowed to spin within the dish. The dish and liners are also configured so that a stack of liners can be held conveniently within a single dish. The dish may resemble the face of a pet, such as a cat or dog.

  • Patent number: 7408509
Abstract: A Direction Finding Method and System Using Probabilistic Mapping is disclosed. Also disclosed is a preferred system that employs a technique for taking in data sets (lines of bearing) from DF receivers and characterizing those signals with their respective probabilities of error. Then using a unique method, the preferred system can display the triangulated position on a map with an overlay of probability fields indicating the emitter location with varying levels of confidence. Even further, the preferred system is able to redraw the probability fields on the map display in real-time as new data is collected and updated. In this way, a far more efficient EL System has been achieved in which the emitter's position can be determined more quickly. It should be noted that with this invention, triangulation can be done with just a single (mobile) DF Set in the EL System. Today's systems for triangulation must use at least three DF Sets.

  • Patent number: 7408476
Abstract: An emergency shut-off system includes an emergency shut-off switch cover plate with a hinged cover that cooperates with a conventional emergency shut-off switch to help prevent the unintended shut-down of a pool or spa water pumping system. The emergency shut-off switch cover plate and hinged cover function in one mode of operation to prevent the unintended shutdown of the pumping system. In another mode of operation, the emergency shut-off cover plate and hinged cover provide a user with a immediate sensory indication that the pumping system is shut-down and needs to be re-activated. The sensory indication can be either a highly visual indication or in the alternative a combination of the highly visual indication with an audible sensory indication.
