Abstract: A scooter device propelled by side to side movement of a user that includes a frame structure through which at least a front wheel is coupled to two direction biased rear wheels. The biased direction wheels include tilted caster and spring biased caster arrangements. The frame structure may have a rear support member or structure that extends between the two rear wheels. A user support platform of various configurations may be provided with the rear support member or structure. The scooter may have a three wheel configuration with the front wheel being larger than the rear two wheels.
Abstract: An extender device and system for adjusting the height of a crossbar analogue in pole vault, high jump, horse jumping or other crossbar clearing activities. The system may include a plurality of pulley like devices that maintain a cord spaced about a practice structure. A crossbar analogue is coupled to the cord and the cord arranged so that the crossbar analogue may be readily moved upward or downward. An extender is disclosed that facilitates arrangement and movement of the cord and crossbar analogue in this manner.
Abstract: Two skate wheel devices each with a foot placement platform, a frame and a wheel. The wheel rotates relative to the frame. The user inserts both feet into respective platforms within the skate wheel devices while the devices rest on pavement. After shifting weight to one of the wheel skate devices, the other raised so that the foot is generally horizontal as opposed to pointing to the pavement. The wheel skate device with the raised foot is then rolled to the side. The user then raises the other wheel skate device so that its foot also points generally horizontally and rolls that wheel skate device in the same direction as the other to build momentum. The platform may rock back and forth relative to the wheel. Grooved rollers may be sandwiched between spaced apart frame elements.
Abstract: A scooter device propelled by side to side movement of a user that includes a frame structure through which at least a front wheel is coupled to two direction biased rear wheels. The frame structure may have a foot placement platform that extends laterally between the two rear wheels. The platform may extend over half of the distance between the rear wheels and/or be substantially continuous for that distance. Various platform embodiments and frame structures, including rigid and flexible, are disclosed, among other aspects.
Abstract: A walking staff apparatus having a tripod assembly that is releasably fastened to a main shaft. The tripod assembly may be released from the shaft to achieve a compact arrangement for transport or storage. The shaft may also be telescoping to achieve a compact size. The release joint may include a mechanism for centering the shaft and tripod assembly. A magnetic-based mechanism for releasable attachment of an article may be coupled to the shaft. The magnetic-based attachment mechanism may include an anti-rotation device to achieve secure positioning of an article releasable attached to the shaft.
Abstract: A self-propelled hydrofoil device that includes a front foil, a rear foil, a user platform, a steering shaft and a frame that couples these components. The steering shaft preferably has a top section and a lower section, the top section being substantially rigid and the lower section being flexible relative to the top section. The top and lower sections may be formed of different materials or may be formed of the same material, integrally or non-integrally. The top and lower sections are preferably offset by an angle, ?, to achieve more ready bending of the lower section.
Abstract: A self-propelled hydrofoil device having front and rear foils, a support structure and a steering mechanism. The hydrofoil device is preferably configured such that a user can change the angle of attack of the drive foil and/or the height of the hydrofoil device in the water by placing the handle bar to a corresponding position. The steering mechanism is movably coupled to the user platform in a manner that provides a user with sufficient leverage to move the handle bar. A flexible steering-shaft joining member and dihedral foil configurations, among other features, are disclosed.
Abstract: A plant protection device having a ventilation opening shield that may be protectedly positioned between a housing and a mounting socket. A temperature sensitive actuator may be provided in the socket and the shield may pivotally move about the socket between a position impeding airflow through the ventilation opening and a position facilitating airflow through the ventilation opening. Various embodiments and features are disclosed including a reinforced housing, multi-part housing construction, and a shield mounting structure provided through the shield, among other features.

Abstract: A skate device that has one or more turnable wheels. In one group of embodiments, the turnable wheels may be linked such that when one wheel turns another wheel turns in a manner that facilitates turning. In another group of embodiments, the turnable wheels are not so linked. The skate device of the present invention may achieve turning from a point underneath the shoe or foot region of the skate, thus more closely approximately turning on ice skates. The skate device may have inline wheels and maybe relatively light-weight and compact.
Abstract: A scooter device having a flexible, tiltable frame structure and biased direction rear wheels. The scooter may be of a type that achieves forward propelled by side-to-side movement of a user. The frame structure may include a flexible member or members and/or incorporate other flexible or moveable components to achieve desired performance. The frame structure and steering mechanism may be moveable into a more compact form for storage or transport. A brake arrangement and other features are also disclosed.
Abstract: A fish-safe screened water diversion apparatus having an input and diverted and non-diverted outputs. Water or other fluid is directed substantially downward under the screen at the input and preferably flows under the screen in a substantially unimpeded manner to the non-diverted output or substantially upwardly and/or diagonally through the screen to the diverted output. Various diversion apparatus and screen embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: A plunger device for use with a beverage press having a screen for filtering fines from an infused beverage. A flexible seal is provided that is compressible to function properly in different sized containers.
