Abstract: A high efficiency recirculating marine aquaculture process for producing fish at variable yield densities of up to 60 kg/meter3 of the aquaculture tank, including fish that spawn under short photoperiods such as gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) as well as fish that spawn under long photoperiods such as striped bass (Morone saxatilis). The process involves broodstock conditioning, spawning/reproduction, larval growth, nursery, and adult grow-out operations. The process is characterized by high-rate growth at optimal process conditions requiring less than 10% daily water exchange, thereby enabling effluent waste from the system to be discharged to a municipal sewer after disinfection treatment, which in turn permits siting of the aquaculture process facility in urban/suburban locations where aquaculture processes have been previously infeasible.

Abstract: A electrochemical sensor for the detection of traces of HF and/or other acid gases in air, comprising a measuring electrode of an electrochemically active metal oxide powder, a reference electrode for fixing the potential of the measuring electrode close to the equilibrium potential of the oxidation/reduction system of MeOn/Mem+, and a counter electrode. The electrodes are in communicative contact with a hygroscopic electrolyte. The measured gas component changes the pH of the electrolyte, and thus the electrochemical equilibrium of the measuring electrode, to produce a measurable electrical current that is proportional to the concentration of the detected acid gas.

Abstract: An apparatus and process for abatement of halogen in a halogen-containing effluent gas, such as is produced by a semiconductor manufacturing plant utilizing perfluorocompounds in the operation of the plant. Halogen-containing effluent gas is contacted with water vapor in a thermal oxidation reactor to convert halogen species to reaction products that are readily removed from the effluent gas by subsequent scrubbing. A shrouding gas may be employed to separate the halogen-containing effluent gas from the water vapor at the inlet of the thermal oxidation reactor, to thereby prevent premature reaction that would otherwise produce particulates and reaction products that could clog the inlet of the reactor.
Abstract: A system is disclosed for isolating a bond pad from the rest of the circuitry of a semiconductor chip in a manner that protects the chip from applied signals that are outside the normal operating range and which tamper with the operation of the system. The system includes the use of a controllable switch for routing the signal from the bond pad to the circuit and a detector for detecting a tamper condition on the bond pad. The detection of a tamper condition causes the detector to inform the microcontroller on the chip to, for example, terminate the operation in progress, perform a controlled system shutdown, disable pre-arranged functions, or record the fact that a tamper condition occurred.
Abstract: A strong, lightweight structural system wherein curved structural elements are tangentially joined. Compressive forces are distributed in a near continuous manner throughout the matrix, and tensile forces are present primarily to brace, support and pre-stress the compression net. The system is scalable from molecular through architectural levels, and finds many applications in dome shaped and spherical structures. The structural system also provides a force interaction model that is applicable to a broad array of real and theoretical problems.
Abstract: A chemical mechanical polishing slurry and method for using the slurry for polishing copper, barrier material and dielectric material that comprises a first and second slurry. The first slurry has a high removal rate on copper and a low removal rate on barrier material. The second slurry has a high removal rate on barrier material and a low removal rate on copper and dielectric material. The first and second slurries at least comprise silica particles, an oxidizing agent, a corrosion inhibitor, and a cleaning agent.

Abstract: A fixing tool for temporarily holding a midsole and a shoetree in shoe industry includes a screw base and a screw body. The screw base is formed as a hollow hob screw with both an inner thread and an outer thread. The screw body further includes a screw holder and a screw. The screw has a flat round top portion with periphery notches and is pivoted at a center thereof to allow the top portion able to make a 90° rotation. The screw base is used to be screwed into a proper position at the bottom of the shoetree. The screw of the screw body is then engaged with the respective screw base through the midsole for temporarily fixing the midsole and the shoetree. The screw holder of the screw body can be pushed aside to contact with the midsole. Unlike the conventional nail-fixing, the fixing tool of the present invention can hold the midsole and the shoetree by only screwing the screw of the screw body into the screw base.
Abstract: A gas supply system including a gas cabinet defining an enclosure including therein a gas dispensing manifold and one or more adsorbent-based gas storage and dispensing vessels mounted in the enclosure and joined in gas flow communication with the gas dispensing manifold. The enclosure may be maintained under low or negative pressure conditions for enhanced safety in the event of leakage of gas from the gas storage and dispensing vessel(s) in the enclosure. The gas supply system may be coupled to a gas-consuming unit in a semiconductor manufacturing facility, e.g., an ion implanter, an etch chamber, or a chemical vapor deposition reactor.

Abstract: A precursor composition for forming a zirconium and/or hafnium silicate film on a substrate, e.g., by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Illustrative precursor compositions include (1) a first precursor metal compound or complex including a silicon alcoxide (siloxide) ligand coordinated to a metal M, wherein M=Zr or Hf and (2) a second precursor metal compound or complex including an aliphatic alcoxide ligand coordinated to a metal M, wherein M=Zr or Hf, wherein the relative proportions of the first and second precursors relative to one another are employed to controllably establish the M/Si ratio in the deposited silicate thin film. The precursor composition may contain a solvent medium, so that the composition is adapted for liquid delivery CVD, to form stable thin-film gate dielectrics for fabrication of microelectronic devices.
Abstract: A cassette for containment, storage and processing of material samples, having a top member that is slideably attachable to and detachable from the base member with minimal force and relaxed requirement for precision in the alignment operation. The top member is hingeably connected to the base member when attached and is positively locked to the base member in the attached closed position. The top member is easily opened and closed with one hand when attached to the base member, and facilitates high volume sample processing, e.g., of tissue samples for the purpose of histological determinations.
